We spoke with the Singer representative ... moreand she said a machine this old didn't have a model name or number-that it was just called a"Standard" However, in the literature I have seen since, I notice model 12 New Family machines that are nearly identical to this one. The representative did confirm the 1871 date. The decals are still remarkably intact for a machine that is 142 years old. They represent the"Acanthus Leaves" pattern. The machine has a coffin top. Two-drawer cabinet and a set of attachments, including two original bobbins, bobbin winder"spoon, tucker, binder, seam guide, quilting bar(not pictured) and a wooden case of needles. It also has an extra open-boat shuttle that I have not tested. As it has a slightly different shape from the one that was in the machine. Two extra bobbin winders came with the machine, and will be included. A reprint of the Model 12 manual is also included. Size: At 16" deep x32" wide x40" high. Including top, the machine cabinet is rather diminutive, which I liked because it fits in small spaces. Markings: The Singer logo is present on both sides of the cast iron treadle base. The medallion on the machine's forward side says"Singer Mfg Co N Y Trademark. The front and back of the machine head say"Singer" and the top says"Singer Manufacturing Company" The Serial number is 868385. The number above the serial number just below the stitch length selector is 7753385. Origin/ Background: I bought this machine at a flea market 26 years ago. It has been with me ever since. Condition: Machine has been cleaned and oiled. And is in working condition. Pictures of the stitches are included. We purchased this machine from a person who does not sew. We have found that the Wilcox and Gibbs was probably the most successful of the chain-stitching sewing machines. The"Automatic" was produced continuously unchanged form from 1876 to c.1950. Located in New York City. The company began production in 1858. The company was founded by James Gibbs, and James Willcox. These machines used a single thread to form chain-stitch seams so there is NO bobbin needed. The machines were easy to use and quieter than the lockstitch machines; they were also much less expensive. If you collect sewing machines or just want to display in your home then this is your chance to get one. This machine comes with. Its original manual or book and even some spare needles. I have found some patent dates on it, Nov 22, 1887-March 28, 1882 and August 28, 1894 and has a serial number of A696165. The following is list of things I have found might need attention? Singer fiddlebase sewing machine from 1889 "Victorian"decal pattern - antique!!
This antique beauty was made in the elegant Victorian age! The serial number is 8711039- according to the Singer website. This machine was manufactured in 1889. It wears the ornate"Victorian" decal pattern and sports an unusual"fiddlebase" design that brings to mind images of the wasp-waisted corsets this machine's former owners may have sewn with it once upon a time. Decals are a bit worn, which is to be expected with a machine of this age, especially since it was probably an"everyday use" item when it was new. Please see photos- the machine is a"vibrating shuttle" model, and the shuttle is present in the machine. As with many of the older treadle and hand crank machines, this Singer was modified to accommodate an electric motor(Mercury brand) and is also fitted with an electric light, which makes ... morefor greater visibility when sewing. I suspect the modification was done around the 1930s, as the plugs and housing appear to be bakelite(it smells like it when you do the"rub test" and they have an Art Deco appearance. The outlets are marked"motor" and"light. The light is functional, the motor works(belt occasionally slips a little- it may need to be replaced with a tighter belt) the foot control pedal works, and I don't see any reason why the machine would not do the job it was intended to do, as it moves freely and smoothly. I don't have a bobbin for the vibrating shuttle at the moment- if I did, I'd test it, but I haven't used this one in about 15 years and I'm not sure where I put the bobbins! The Model 201 is widely regarded as one of the best machines Singer ever made. I plugged it in and the machine runs- it is smooth and quiet! Compare this machine to any modern sewing machine. And you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the items manufactured"back in the day. Built-in light attachment(does not come with bulb) and Singer foot control pedal are included, as is the carrying case shown. The case is not original to the machine, but does a good job of protecting it from dust and damage. The handle makes carrying the machine as convenient as possible. Antique Singer Sewing Machine 1914 #66 with "Red Eye" decal design
A 1914 Singer Sewing Machine#66. Serial# G 3666339 with the"Red Eye" decal design in good condition. The machine does work, but the belt slips. The Brother motor on the back of the machine works well and spins fast but does not take up the belt very well, may be a simple tension adjustment but I am not a repair expert so I will leave that to the Collector. It appears to be missing part of the tension adjustment knob on the front. I have not cleaned the piece and it does have a slight musty odor that will most likely dissipate with time and restorative cleaning. There is a foot pedal as shown and the black plug receptacle has the words, light" and"motor" molded into the plastic. All indications are that this is a very sought after design. Vintage Singer Sewing Machine Model 201 Cabinet Stool Access. Paperclip Decal
This is a beautifully preserved vintage Singer sewing machine. Model 201, with the"paperclip" decal. It was built in 1948, as it's serial number indicates(AH622361) It is enclosed in a very nice cabinet and it's original stool. It is electrically operated and it works very smooth. I have a video of it running which I can email if you would like to see it running. The stool top has a few spots of paint on it. As shown. The wood cabinet has minimal wear, as would be expected on an item of this age. All the original accessories and manuals are included. The machine wasn't used very much and so has retained much of it's shine and beauty! I am listing this as local pick up only. There's not much to say except it produced a beautiful straight stich with no problems! However. I can say with near certainty it has been awhile since it has been serviced and I would recommend a professional cleaning and service. Cosmetic Condition Overall very nice. There is some wear to the decal design in some places. Some scratches, ... moreand some etching to metal parts. Particularly the hand wheel and slide plate have etching and pitting. There is some wear to the metal plating and occassional light rust on some of the hardware and the decorative plate under the light attachment most definitely does have some rusting. The Industrial/Family heavy duty sewing machine Class 15 has been introduced in 1879 and holds the honor to be the longest(135 years! continuously manufacturing sewing machine in the history. This model also has a dubious distinction to be one of the most copied sewing machine. In 1970 I have seen myself the mass manufacturing of Class 15 PMZ at the former Singer Podolsk Mechanical Zavod(factory) in Russia. This plant has been built there by Singer SMC in 1902 with the intention to supply sewing machines to the entire Russian market and also The Balkan states. Turkey, Iran, Japan and China. Well. So little did they knew- after that infamous Russian revolution Singer basically has lost it's ... morehuge factory there and after the WWII there were a lot of copies of this truly wonderful machine has been made in Japan and later in China. And even now they are still being produced in India. The Treadle and hand crank versions! If that facts are not a testimony of this machine reliability.than nothing could be. After original introduction in 1879 of 15-1 as fiddle base with long beak shuttle hook. The sixteen years later in 1895 the new Improved machine with rectang ular body and slightly different mechanically class 15 almost as we know it is now has appeared. And It happened to be the most successful sewing machine design ever. In US and Scotland has been made 84 different official modifications of this marvel of engineering Class 15: from 15-1 to 15K191. About one half of them has been made as the industrial version. The only difference in between 15-30 Family and industrial version is the additional knee operated pressure foot mechanism. Basically. It was the Industrial machine for family use. The Early models like this one had the plain polished steel face plate. No reverse feed dog movement and no feed dog drop for quilting. Antique/Vintage Singer Sewing Machine 1924 Red Eye La Vencedora Decal#14 The serial number dates it to 1924. This is a great looking old sewing machine. The decorations are are really nice on this model. Comes with a case and foot pedal. The light works. The needle goes up and down and the motor runs, but t needs a new belt, which can be easily done. Needs conditioning. The machine and case have some wear due to age and use. This would be a great addition to a collector or just as a decorative piece for someone. Or, if you want to have it conditioned, it will probably work like a gem!

Antique Singer Sewing Machine 66 Lotus decal in Parlor Cabinet
Antique Singer sewing machine Model 66(or 66-1. Not sure) in parlor cabinet. To the best of my investigation this is with lotus decals from early 1900's. Cabinet looks to be Mahogany but not sure. Comes with what appears to be original instruction booklet, oil can and misc. accessories as shown in photo. When closed, cabinet measures 32.5" long x 17.75"deep x 31" tall. When top is opened the length of piece is 46.25" Very heavy piece. Local Pickup Only by you or your packing/shipper. Used, treadle does make needle go up and down, decals are worn in places, veneer chips pieces in places, missing veneer piece on lower right door, general wear throughout, sold as is.
