VINTAGE SPRING LOADED PULL DOWN DOOR LATCH/LOCK CAST IRON (2)
This is a set of vintage cast iron pull spring door lock/latches. They measure about 34 1/2" from the end of the pull ring to the end of the latch itself. The latch part is about 3" wide. Condition is vintage used/poor in my opinion because of rust. The spring action seems to work fine and there are no cracks or breaks. They definitely need a good cleaning and probably a paint job. A nice set of porcelain door knobs and latch plate
Here is a nice old set of porcelain knobs with a latch plate that although broken shows them and displays them well. The knobs have a few small chips and some discoloring which is normal for the age and use that they have had. The knobs are usable in a home restoration with the shaft if thats how you choose or they look neat in a display of vintage architectural or mechanical items. I love the look of these old knobs and you really get the feeling that they just don't make things like this anymore when you see them and pick them up and feel the weight. BARN FARM VINTAGE DOOR OR GATE HASP LATCH
Old farm estate find. This auction is for a barn door or gate hasp latch. Only what is pictured is included. It normally would have had a U- shaped that would go into the slot on the hasp w and then the rotating"T" hook would drop down to secure it. At the time of finding, the previous owners had just gone primitive and hade made a"U" bracket by bending a large nail. Hey, it worked. The slot is 1 5/8" long and 5/6" wide. The hasp was mounted to the door using one lag bolt in the 1/2" hole at the other end. Hasp is 8" x 1" There is some white paint on the hasp and minor rust but it is fully functional and should last another 100 years. Weight is 3.8oz. Vintage Brass- door handle latch-with Brass plate- Ornate Surface is grungy. Has tarnish and patina, only the two screws visible on the back in whole assembly are magnetic. The latch piece coming through the plat is bent, not sure if it is cut short too. The backer plate measures about 6 1/8 inches from tip to tip. The backer plate is about 1 3/4 inches wide(tapering very slightly so it is a hair wider on the bottom/key hole end) and the width of the latch handle-looks like a door knocker- is 2 1/4 inches. As my father would say“don’t be penny wise and pound foolish. ANTIQUE NOS HEAVY SOLID CAST BRASS FOOT BOLT DOOR LATCH#0 Hi folks. This is just for the bolt. The floor keeper can be bought at any home center. This is used on the secondary door of double doors to hold it secure. It can also be used on any door as a horizontal latch/bolt if enough wood is exposed on your frame(about 1” when your door is in the closed position. It is heavy cast brass and not cast iron and nothing like the flimsy made imports of today using some sort of pot metal. This has never been used but it does have light numerous scratches and digs. Because it is solid cast brass it would polish up like/near new if that ... morewas the finish you were looking for. This one I started to polish using a buffer on a drill and it took about five minutes to do using a brass paste polish. Almost all scratches and marks were polished off doing it that way. I did not polish all areas on it but you get the idea. I did it as an example. This is not spring loaded, because it’s made of cast brass it’s great to use on sheds and bulkhead wooden doors. The bolt base measures 6 ¼” x 1 ¾” Circ. middle of last century. Oil has been applied but they should have a final cleaning and clear coated or painted for continued protection. Please take a look at the many other antique hardware items I have listed. My pictures are large because I not only want to tell you what you’re getting but also for you to see what you’re getting. NOTE: Be very careful when buying antique hardware. I’m seeing more reproductions showing up at flea markets and sales then ever before. Don’t be what my father called some people. This rare and unusual French Bronze Door Latch Bolt Lock dates I believe to around the 1880s or thereabouts. It is in full working order and the handle to the bolt has a delightful design of an Acorn. The mechanism works smoothly and the backplate measures approximately 4.5 inches high by approximately 4 inches across. It weighs around 351 grams and is marked with a cross keys foundry mark with the word"PARIS" between. A superb finishing touch to any Door.

Ideal for that special pair of double doors. I would not be surprised to see a set of bronze vintage handles such as these opening the doors of a Private Bank. Each handle measures 33cms x 6cms and weigh just a tad over 1 kilo each. So 2 Kilos of Bronze offered. They naturally show signs of use commensurate with their age which could be as early as Victorian. The thumb catches operate perfectly. The 6 fastening holes are countersunk. Looking at the unseen once fitted back of these handles one may note the rough casting evidence and the way the lever catch guide has been hand riveted to the stepped door plate. It is as found. All original and shows some vintage finish on the knob. The overall length is 3-1/4 inches with a 1-7/8 inch diameter x 1-3/4 inch long walnut knob. The latch is 2-1/2 inches long, 7/8 x 7/8 inch at the thick end and 1/4 of an inch at the long tapered end. The ½ inch diameter dowel is mortised into the latch and cut nailed. Offered are 7 thumb latch door handles. I have had these for about 40 years thinking I would use them. I know this is a man's thing& I don't know a whole lot about them other than I've always liked them. I was going to list them separately but I couldn't remember what latch went to what handle. One latch is not here. There is light surface rust but I know they will clean up nicely. 3 of the handles are the same. I'm not positive but I think their Norfolk style. Wrought iron, American latch circa 1800-1820. 8 3/4" high, 1 1/2" wide. The one with the pewter handle is Norfolk style, 7 3/4" high, 1 1/4" wide, early 19th century, a piece of the pewter is gone, it looks like it happened long ago. One is Norfolk style from 2nd quarter of 19th century with unusual feathered decorative feature in center ... moreof handle, 7 1/4" high, 1 3/4" wide. I have seen this one sell for $110.00. The one with the knob in the middle is 6 1/2" long. 1 1/2" wide. The one with the separate thumb latch is 6 1/2" long. I may be completely wrong on my facts because they look so primitive to me. 2 similar Suffolk narrow cusp thumb latch door handles
2 very similar antique Suffolk thumb latches with parts. The latches are 18th/early 19th century. They are 10" and 10 1/2" long. Each has narrow upper and lower cusps. This makes them desirable for doors with narrow stiles. They may be used as interior or exterior latches. The thumb pieces are original and are 2 1/4" and 3" long. The latch bars are period and are 7" long. The keepers and staples are wrought reproductions. Note that the keepers are the nice legged type as opposed to a simple drive in one. Ask questions if interested. Watch for my other early iron items.

Antique wrought twisted hook door latch rare size
Antique rare size wrought iron twisted door hook with staples. The hook is nicely twisted and is most likely 19th century. It is 4" long-a rare size The patina is somewhat shiny because I had to wire buff it to get off rust/paint. The staples are not old. I do have a number of these hooks in different sizes-mostly 5" and 6" I do have a few 3" and 4" Ask questions if interested. Watch for my other early iron items.

Eastlake Victorian Brass hardware Latch Door Bell
Eastlake Victorian Brass hardware: Door Bell is a creation of a new buzzer and an old doorknob back plate. It fits snuggly and works well. I took it off the door of our former city home when the kids started ringing it at all hours of the night. Also included is a brass shutter latch and two cast iron window pressure catches. If you have a window that will not stay up you put this on the sash of the window and turn the crank and it will lock the window in place. Also holds it in place when it is closed. All hardward came from that house which was built in 1885.
