The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 working key, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 3-section spindle with 1 setscrew and 1 securing pin. All brass parts are solid brass. Not plated iron. Originally, all brass parts were copper-plated. All of the plating has worn off of the knobs, however, the escutcheons and lock faceplate still retain almost all of their original plating. The lock is reversible and could accommodate either a left or right swing door. The oval knobs and escutcheons have a beautiful Neo-Classical style pattern consisting of beads. The base of the bell that attaches to ... morethe inside of the door is cast iron and bears no makers name. There are several patent date, but are difficult to read. Also included is the beautifully decorated exterior T- handle lever for ringing the bell when it is lifted up or down. It has no maker or patent date listed. The bell has a loud and clear ring that resonates after being struck inside by the mechanical hammer. The internal mechanism has been cleaned and oiled. The color of the cast brass on the bell is gold color while the T-handle is more to the red shade. The two parts were often made by different companies using different formulations of brass. They were often purchased separately after being selected out of hardware store catalogs. Since each is on a different side of the door. Any differences are seldom seen. Both pieces were professionally polished. But not clear coated to allow the brass to slowly patina in the future. The arm on the T-handle that goes thru the door is 2 7/8 inches long and would accomodate doors up to 2 1/2 inches thick. The bell`s iron base is 6 in. wide from mounting tab to tab. The screw holes are on 5 1/2 in. centers. The brass bell dome and top nut are 2 1/4 in. tall. The brass bell dome is 4 3/4 in. wide. The T-handle plate is 5 3/4 in. long x 2 3/4 in. wide. Its screw holes are on 4 1/4 in. centers. The bell and ringer handle weigh a hefty 2 pounds together. The shipping shown is for any of the 48 continental US states. I know they are at least 30 years old because they have been on a shelf in my parents garage for at least that long. This is a lot of 13 classic oval key hole covers of various sizes. Some of these were removed from old interior doors. And some were never used. The 8 shown on top are not magnetic. Most of them are brass, but the black ones on the left and the chrome one on the right may be stainless steel. The 5 shown on the bottom are steel. The key hole covers vary in width from 15/16" to 1- 1/4" and in height from 1- 11/16" to 2" Two or three of the brass ones are a little pushed in around the key hole. Some have scratches. Penn Antique Restoration. ~ 6 available ~ Antique Chrome/Brass Interior Door Sets w/ Oval Beaded Knobs& Plates. Although there are 6 sets available. The list price is for 1 set only. If the quantity above falls below 6, then this indicates that 1 or more sets sold. Elegant. Antique, interior door locksets salvaged from Central Iowa. Each set consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with a brass faceplate and 1 working key, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs. The sets were made some time between 1900& 1920. All brass parts are solid brass. At some point(most likely during the middle of the previous century) All brass parts were chrome-plated. Surprisingly, most of the plating remained! The amount of plating varies from part to part(see"Group ... morephotos" to compare) The knobs have a circular form and the escutcheons have an oval form. Both knobs and escutcheons have beaded trim. In our opinion. The sets are pretty clean. The chrome may be a bit dull, but after some polishing, they'll shine like they did years ago! There are traces of paint here and there, but that too is easily removed(your fingernail will suffice) We're not sure if you prefer a cleaner look, or a dirtier, distressed look. We opted not to clean them to be able to sell the sets for less, but if you prefer your hardware bright and shiny, we could clean the sets for $25/set prior to shipping- email us after the auction if you're interested. There is one subtle dent around each keyhole. They are not easily spotted unless you are looking for flaws. One of the knobs has a small dent on it's side. But it too is not easy to spot, and it will be even tougher to see once installed. Otherwise, there are just the typical small nicks and light scratches that you would expect to find on 100 year old hardware, but no breaks, cracks, chips, or gouges. We opened. Each set consists of 2 iron knobs, 2 stamped iron escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with 1 working key, 1 iron strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews. Originally, the knobs and plates were brass or copper plated; however, some of the plating wore off over the years leaving the parts with a nice, distressed finish. The amount of plating varies from part to part(see"Group photos" for a visual) The knobs have a circular form and the escutcheons have a lovely. Oval form. Both knobs and escutcheons have beaded ... moretrim. At the point of salvage. Some parts were painted, and all were dirty, and rusty(see last photo) We spent hours removing the paint and carefully cleaning and polishing all parts, trying to preserve as much of the plating as possible. All parts have tiny nicks and light scratches. Which is common for hardware this old. Otherwise. All parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or deep scratches. The shank(base) of one of the knobs are slightly loose. If you hold the face of the knob with one hand. And the shank with the other and attempt to turn it; it will turn about 1/32" 1/16" From experience, I know that even if you turn as hard as you could in attempt to completely detach the shank from the knob, you will sooner break the knob than detach the base or cause more looseness. This happens naturally, over time, to some knobs and is not a serious concern. We mentioned it so that you're not surprised and worried when you receive your hardware. We opened. Inspected, and greased each lock to function more smoothly. We also made a key for each lock and we could make more for $6/key-email us after the auction if you are interested. Dimensions: Knobs

French Antique Brass Door Knob Set. Here for sale are a matching pair of French brass door knobs. The knobs are in good condition and have been polished. They come complete with the bar's knob pins. There is a ding to one knob( see pic No 2) around the spigot part where its fixing hole area is. This knob is the free floating adjustable one and has some free play in it too. But nothing that will affect its operation. The knobs can be adjusted to suit the door width by moving one knob along the 6mm square bar and reinserting the fixing pin. Extra holes could be drilled if necessary. They would make a great addition to any building restoration. Dimensions: The distance between the knobs( adjustable length) is from 68mm- 47mm. The oval part is 51x23mm. NOTE: These knobs have a 6mm square bar. So please make sure that you check that they will ... morefit your lock's square hole. 2 SETS! Vintage Antique Victorian/Art Nouveau Brass Oval Door Knobs/Back Plates
Gorgeous brass door knob and back plate set…and two complete sets! Only missing a few set screws. Fabulous back plates with has scrolled elements at the top. Bottom, and both sides. These elegant knobs have a matching scrolled pattern around a central oval button. I started polishing one set intending to install it in 2004. But we moved before I had a chance to finish and get them installed. The back plate is all brass, but has polishing compound that I did not clean up. It will all polish up to a beautiful brass patina. My plan was to find a set for each of our doors. And I had actually found a similar oval set that I am listing…please see my other listings. These are in fantastic shape with only a little rust on the steel spindles and collar. Also. One of the center knobs has some green around the back seam…it should polish out. Old Edwardian 1920s oval design brass door knobs with door plates lot C
These knobs measure close to 2 3/4" in long and 1 5/8" wide. The door plates measure 7" long and 2 9/16" wide at the widest point. The inside diameter where the knob sits on the plate is close to 11/16" The spindle is available upon request but it adds weight and slight a slight increase to the shipping cost.

Vtg Door Hook Security Latch Brass Oval Backplates 3.75"
Offered is a vintage two piece latching safety door hook. Most probably made of brass. The set consists of an oval backplate with attached hook and a second oval backplate with the loop that the hook fastens into. The entire set, from outer edge of backplate to outer edge of backplate measures about 3.75" long. Oval plates are about 1& 3/8" long and have two mounting holes on each. The piece appears to be made of brass and has considerable patina/discoloration. Which I think adds to it's vintage/antique look. It came from an estate sale in Detroit, MI.
