I WILL ENTERTAIN FAIR OFFERS FOR THIS REMARKABLE AND RARE PAIR OF BRASS SPORRAN CANTLES FOR RESTORATION. They have dates- 1827 and 1837- as well as the initials of the previous owners. Both cantles surfaced in an estate sale in the multi-million dollar home of a New England family of Scottish descent. There were four cantles in the grouping I purchased- but I am keeping two to have restored for my own collection. The metal smithing is simply wonderful. It should be re-wired as the plug has been cut off the cord. If you want to restore it to an oil lamp. It is missing the burner, wick and gallery, the shade ring or tripod, and the shade. It still does have its original oil tank as the pictures show. It stands about 20" tall to the top of the center post and it has a 6" diameter base. Offered today is a lot of 7 vintage drawer pulls. They are metal and brass of various shapes and sizes. Three are matching with back plate and handle measuring approximately 5" long with 2" of flat plate between the two mounting holes. Two are matching drop-style complete with mounting plates and screws. Each measures just over 2.5" wide with a 2.25" drop. One is etched with pyramids. Waves, leaves, and suns measuring approximately 3.75" wide with 2.75" flat space between mounting holes. And one is a round pull with mounting plate attached and screw hardware. old hand painted porcelain & brass drawer pulls ~ parts for restoration projects
I do not know much about these drawer pulls except they came from an estate sale that was held for a antiques dealer. They were found in a box in the basement. Apparently put there many years ago. One of the pulls had an old price tag on it saying $250.00 for the set. I have no idea of what they are really worth or just how old they are. The opening bid price will be low so start thinking of ways to use them! The brass back on one of the 4 large painted inserts has come loose. It could be re-soldered or glued back together. The 6 smaller pulls are complete with all handles. One of the 4 larger pulls is missing the ring handle. Note all 6 of the small pull rings have a raised"rope" design on the fronts. The 3 large pulls have a raised plain line and not a rope like design. In my pictures some of the small& large pull rings appear ... moresmooth because I turned some over so viewers could see both fronts& backs. See the quarter for a size comparison to the pulls. An original true antique electric door bell exterior push button. Removed from an old 1930`s home. Lightly polished and cleaned. Ideal for a home restoration project.
