1692 Muller Map- Anatolien Johann U. Muller was responsible for a world geography. Geographia totius orbis compendaria' containing some of the smallest maps ever printed. The 103 tiny maps were probably engraved by Gabriel C. Bodenehr and were published by Georg Kuhnen in Ulm, Germany in 1692. This map comes from that edition. The map includes the regions of Natolia. Cyprus, Turcomania, Syria, Diarbeck, and the Holy Land. Major cities are noted, the topography is illustrated. There is fine detail for such a tiny map. The map measures 2.5" by 3" on a full page of text. And has later outline hand colouring, and is in good condition except for printer's creases at the left side of the map. Size: The map image measures approximately 9 by 11 inches(23x28cm) on a 11 by 13" page(27x33cm) with a margin all around as seen in the main pic. Condition: The map is in Good condition for its age with overall tonal aging and original handcoloring as issued. Blank on the reverse, printed on a strong flexible page, not brittle, basically as seen in the pics. There is some darkening and wear around the edges, a couple of chipped corners and light foxing along the top edge in margin only as seen, otherwise the map image area is very clean with a nice antique quality on strong paper that would frame up nicely. This map shows the route used by Cyrus the Great to try to seize the throne of Persia from his brother. The map was purchased in the early 1960's in Turkey. It has three beautiful cartouches. The overall measurements of the map are approximately 17 3/4 by 22 inches. The engraving itself measures approximately 16 1/2 by 19 3/8. The map has a reinforced center vertical fold.
