1692 Muller Map- Anatolien Johann U. Muller was responsible for a world geography. Geographia totius orbis compendaria' containing some of the smallest maps ever printed. The 103 tiny maps were probably engraved by Gabriel C. Bodenehr and were published by Georg Kuhnen in Ulm, Germany in 1692. This map comes from that edition. The map includes the regions of Natolia. Cyprus, Turcomania, Syria, Diarbeck, and the Holy Land. Major cities are noted, the topography is illustrated. There is fine detail for such a tiny map. The map measures 2.5" by 3" on a full page of text. And has later outline hand colouring, and is in good condition except for printer's creases at the left side of the map. Fine and uncommon decorative old map of Holy Land. Large vignette scene at bottom shows David with the head of Goliath in front of architecture& vegetation. The title set within a strapwork title cartouche. We have scanned the map against a black background so you can clearly see the paper extension at the top and blank margin backing on the right. When viewed in person against a white background. The map looks far nicer and most of this repair work is invisible to the naked eye. Once framed, the map will look lovely and these repairs would be invisible to the viewer. A picture is worth a thousand words. Although the top blank margin has been neatly replaced with old paper and there is a thin right blank margin paper repair on the back which are all but invisible when viewing the map. Some light age wear or surface spotting/ soiling which is visible within the scan, printed on thin paper, the large watermark visible to the eye. Paper and image remains overall clean& sound. Old maps& prints often display small minor repairs on the back. Could have uneven blank margins, might have extraneous fold-lines or other small minor age flaws which do not detract from the visual appeal or value. Condition is carefully considered in arriving at our price. Great antique map entirely worthy of hanging for display. A depiction captured in a manner entirely unique to this era.
