The SDUK began its map publishing project under the leadership of Captain Francis Beaufort R.N. in 1829, and published the maps in parts, haltingly, over the next 15 years, completing the series in 1844, finally permitting the publication of a whole atlas. 1692 Muller Map- Anatolien Johann U. Muller was responsible for a world geography. Geographia totius orbis compendaria' containing some of the smallest maps ever printed. The 103 tiny maps were probably engraved by Gabriel C. Bodenehr and were published by Georg Kuhnen in Ulm, Germany in 1692. This map comes from that edition. The map includes the regions of Natolia. Cyprus, Turcomania, Syria, Diarbeck, and the Holy Land. Major cities are noted, the topography is illustrated. There is fine detail for such a tiny map. The map measures 2.5" by 3" on a full page of text. And has later outline hand colouring, and is in good condition except for printer's creases at the left side of the map.
