This was the first map of the region published in England and includes eight views of Turkish cities across the top. Including Constantinople, Jerusalem, Damascus, Alexandria, and Ormus(Hormuz) There are ten costumed figures on the sides, and a decorative title cartouche atop a mileage scale at the lower left. The coverage area extends from the Italian peninsula to the Gulf of Oman. And there are hundreds of place names, with topography shown in relief. The scans below give a closer look: On the reverse side there are two full pages of text in English. With embellishments and a large initial cap, including a description of the Turks as a"terrour ... moreto the whole world. This map is titled The Turkish Empire. Newly Augmented by John Speed. 1626.
