Nested Chests. This Unique. Lovely set features three nested chests. The largest measures 13" deep x 19" wide x 15" tall. The inner chests are in very good condition. The outer chest has some trim wood missing and a split in the top(see photos 4& 5) These chests are well crafted. They are made of wood with lovely fruit paintings, felt lined, with metal hinges, handle and clasps. I am no antique expert, but these were part of an estate sale that featured several early 1900 pieces.

Vintage Birds Eye Maple Queen Anne Lowboy Chest Salesman's Sample
This wonderful little Queen Anne style lowboy was used for years as a jewelry box by an elderly relative. It is made of birds eye maple and has dovetailed drawers and glue blocks on the joints. Just like a full size chest. It measures 5" x 10-1/2" x 8" high. It is in excellent condition. The top has a little bow to it, but not bad. I'm not sure of its origin, but I know where it has been for the last 50 years or so.

Wood tray for antique steamer trunk. Tray measures 29 1/2" long. 15 5/8"wide, and 5 1/2" deep. It originally sat on wood side supports built into the trunk. Tray has small metal brackets on each end with a divider down the center. This came out of an old roll-top or camel-back trunk, but would fit a flat-top trunk as well. There is a sliver of wood missing from the center divider as shown in the first picture. This would be best as a free pick-up, but will deliver this to a shipper in Elizabethtown, Ky, if you pay for packing and shipping. Very nice dome top doll trunk with grain painting. Original iron banding, original latch and a nice fabric interior. No key. 15 3/4" long x 9 1/4" deep x 10 1/4" high. The condition is very good with some paint nicks and a few little stains and a minor crack on the top. The lift lid on the interior compartment is partially torn but not completely detached. I see that a couple of my photos make the trunk appear slightly lopsided. This is because the slate walkway is a bit uneven, the trunk is not at all lopsided. I picked up this chest with the intentions of restoring it but just don't have the time. I do not know much about these other than the fact that they look cool. I have no idea how old it is. Who made it, or what it's worth. The measurements are as follows: 30" W x 19" D x 21" H. I especially like the metal hardware on this chest and it seems to be in good condition. Vintage Wellington Trunk/ Case Double Sided Chicago, ILL
Up for auction is a vintage. Wellington Trunk/ Case made at the Wellington company in Chicago, ILL. It opens up on either side, I have no idea what it was used for. It measures approximately 37" long, 13" wide and 6 1/2" deep. As you can see in the photos there is water damage, torn inner lining, rusted metals, paint splatters and a few rips on outer edge. It has a canvas like covering over heavy cardboard on the lid and on the back. The sides and front are a lightweight wood. I'm not sure what era these were used and again what they were used for.

Large Antique German Hand Painted Legged Wedding Chest Trunk
Up for sale is a beautiful large sized German hand painted wedding chest measuring 32" tall. 49" long and 26" deep. I had sent over by container from England to the States. I am not sure about the year of this chest. There is one wooden bar inside the side of the chest to hold the top open with four small legs each measuring 2" tall.The outside is painted in a maroon color with floral designs in blues and greens. The backside of the trunk is painted in a light blue color as shown in the picture. This would be a lovely storage chest for blankets or clothing. There is definite wear on the outside and inside of this chest that I think only adds to its great patina. Any questions.just ask. It's clearly been around the world a few times but has a lot of life left. Antique trunks. Also called traveling chests, were originally used as luggage for extended trips by stagecoach, train, or steamship. The classic flat top trunks with canvas or metal background and hardwood staves were made from about the 1870s to around 1920. They are often covered in smooth metal, embossed, metal, or canvas. They then have wood slats and metal banding to strengthen them and for decorative design. These range from the basic trunks for utility to the more elaborate French and European designers. On this trunk, the interior tray is missing and the leather handles are missing. He recently passed away and it is now my task to sell this merchandise. For sale is 12 vintage Brass head nails. The head is about 1/2" in diameter and the nail is 1-1/2" long. Victorian Roll Top Steamer Trunk, Faux Alligator Pressed Tin
Faux Alligator tin stamping. With wood slats. It is very interesting in its details. See photos. The front lock is broken. But repairable. One of the side locks is missing, but other side lock in tact. The side straps are broken. But also available online. Some re-rirevitting could also be done. There are no lock keys. But new ones can be easily cut. There is shelf supports on both sides, but the insert is missing. The four little corner wheels are operable, but could use some oiling. With noted problems. It is still a delightful piece and aesthetically really does not not repairing. I am also willing to ship this trunk by Greyhound Bus. If shipped by Greyhound it is $60. for CA to NY. Vintage Reinforced Cardboard Delivery/Storage Box UNIQUE DECOR
This is an estate item. Found it full of vintage linens. The original owners were British. I was told it was intended as a delivery box. I had to do some internet searching to determine what the box is made of. It is a reinforced cardboard but it has a thin tin feel to it. The box has seen lots of wear but seems to have withstood it well. It has some scrapes and a few dents as well as a small hole in the bottom about the size of a half dollar. Lid fits securely but has some bends in it. The box has metal reinforcements on the edges and rivets along all sides. This makes a unique decorator piece either with lid off or on. It has a brownish color and could contain a variety of items when displayed on a shelf or just about anywhere. It measures 23 1/2 by 12 1/2 by 8 inches with the lid on. With lid off. I am unsure of age. It has about 3 inch Velcro type straps on the bottom but they look like they were added. The lid has a metal template that looks like it is for inserting a label. Inventory# Trunk WOW. I can't find anything on this trunk. I did order a photocopy of the Taylor's Trunk Catalog from 1920 and it has great information but no trunks of this large size. YOU GET THE PHOTOCOPY CATALOG AS WELL. It appears to have one time had a name(hard to read) W?n Erickson? but that was painted over on one panel on the top. But the Venitian Melody Boys Theater is painted large across it and in wonderful condition. A couple of hard to read railroad tags but Hoboken and NJ can be read. Possibly NYC theater artists? Antique Small Pine Chest with Brass Stud Details, Mid-1800s - 7" by 7" by 12"
Very charming. Small antique travel trunk made of pine and leather trim with decorative brass studs. It appears it was originally fully covered in leather but, as it aged, someone with some artistic ability trimmed the worn pieces to highlight the stud work. The box is sturdy and has its original hardware and interior lining. The box belonged to someone with the initials"W T" as you can see on the front, in brass studs. The box shows considerable wear and tear but is. Nonetheless, thoroughly charming. There are scratches, banged-up corner, missing leather and a bent hatch on the lock(no key) but it all adds up delightfully. The box measures, including the studs, 12 1/2" across by 7 1/4" tall by 7 1/2" deep. I did my best to capture the style and quality in pictures.
