Up for sale is a VINTAGE LACQUERED OCTOGON ASIAN CHEST WITH BRASS CLASP& HINGES This chest is from my father's collection and was stored in his garage. The chest appears to be in fair condition. There is Asian writing on the exterior and interior of the chest. I believe the chest is made of wood with lacquered panels. Some of the bottom panels are slightly damaged. The clasp and hinges appear to be brass. The chest measures approximately 12.75" length x 12.75" wide x 18" high. I cannot locate a makers mark or label. This chest was stored in a non-smoking home garage. When possible. I will combine shipping on multiple purchases. I've described this chest as accurately as possible. Antique? Vintage? Black forest? Large Carved Wood Trunk Chest
Not sure of age or origin of this truck. But looks too be pretty old. Close look at carvings and some imperfections can bee seen, so i believe hand carved. Looks too have been painted an off white and then a dark stain over it in the past. Quite a few nicks and scuffs reveal this history of paint and stain. Back has a split and a piece missing from a previous repair. Some screws on the hinges look too be old flat heads and some are newer phillips heads. Has oblong round ball legs. Lid does not completely close, has a quarter inch gap in front, maybe from warping from age. Inside has removable tray insert. Wood has a strong, but pleasant smell almost like cedar, but not sure what type of wood it is. Trunk measures 30 inches wide, 18 1/2 inches tall, 16 inches deep. Please study pics too see imperfections in the piece. Could use a good cleaning ... moreand some stain touch ups. Trunk is very heavy and large, and i will keep at local pick up. In regards too shipping the best i will do is bring the trunk too a local UPS store and winning bidder must deal and pay them. Antique Trunk Wood Covered In Leather 1800's Metal Bands Beautiful Piece
Beautiful antique trunk. I had someone online look at pictures and he estimated it was from about 1890. The research I have done myself leads me to believe it was made between 1870-1890. It is made of wood and covered in leather. I believe that it's pine but I could be wrong. There are metal bands across the top and around the edges. Please see pictures this truck is old and has plenty of bumps and bruises. The leather handle straps are missing and there are several patches of leather missing on the top and front. There is also a crack in the lid. It definitely needs some TLC but is still beautiful and has tons of rustic charm. There is paper lining the inside that is torn and has some spots. This would be a great trunk to restore exactly how you want or to leave as is and embrace its natural charm! It measures 28" long 17" ... moretall and 16" wide. Feel free to ask any questions. For sale is this great vintage WWII aluminum industrial steamer trunk by'KOWA Industry' The Kowa trunks were made in Japan circa 1940s/50s and are constructed of aluminum. I believe from air plane panels. The quality is military over-build which is very durable and tough. On the top of this trunk a hole punched stencil reads'Major Ben W. Hunsaker. M.A.T.S. Andrews A.F. Base, Wash. D.C. M.A.T.S. stands for Military Air Transport Service. Activated on 1 June 1948. M.A.T.S was a consolidation of the United States Navy Naval Air Transport Service(NATS) and the United States Air Force Air Transport Command(ATC) into a single, joint, unified command. It was inactivated and discontinued on 8 January 1966 when the Air Force and Navy set up separate strategic airlift commands. There is a red metal tag riveted to the front reading'KOWA ... moreIndustry' and leather carry handles at both ends. Two latches and a locking mechanism secure the trunk. Miniature Brown Steamer Trunk– This could have been a toy. Jewelry box or novelty item. Nice features include a hasp so it can be locked. Corner protectors, handles on both sides, solid hinges, drawer and sliding lid control mechanism(which keeps the lid in place when open and does not allow it to fall over backwards) Condition- Not a nice feature are the casters someone put on the bottom. They work okay. But they are new and don’t match the trunk at all. The mounting of the casters was also sloppy. Here’s something I will do– I have a large inventory of casters of all sizes. And I will include in this auction a set of antique casters much more suited to the trunk’s appearance. In this way you can leave it as it is. Or replace the new casters with the older ones. At the time of this writing I have not been to the warehouse to get those casters, ... morebut I’ll add a photo of them as well when I get back. If you don’t see that picture. Let me know and I’ll add it. It appears tape was pulled off of the trunk and took brown paint with it. Revealing what appears to be a grey(original? color underneath. Depending on one’s taste. I have two antique metal trunks one small green. And a larger brown trunk. I'm not quite sure, but it looks like the green one may have had the handle replaced once before, but I could be wrong. The larger brown one still has it's original leather handle, but is missing the pin for the upper lock. I do not have keys for either one. I bought these at an estate sale so they are a little musty but have been sitting in my living room ever since and have a really cool vintage look to them.

Early Multnomah 1900's Portland Oregon massive antique wardrobe trunk
Wow. I have never come across a wardrobe trunk as large as this one! It instantly reminded me of the high society travelers of the historical Titanic cruise ship. It is just magnificent! The identifier tag reads Multnomah'Baggageman Proof' Portland Oregon. This is an actual wardrobe trunk and is made to stand upright. The bottom is flat with no handle and the top has a bow to it. It certainly can be laid on its side to create a beautiful accent table to your décor. In this position it measures 41" long, 23.5" high and 22" deep. There are so many design ideas that this could be utilize as. Just picture a sheet of glass placed on top, then a grouping of family photos intertwined with an English ivy on top of that. The inside holds a column of drawers on the right side. One of the drawers has a hidden panel on the ... moreback side. A secret place for holding paper money while traveling. The right side is for hanging clothes on wooden hangers and I believe the bottom chest is for shoes. In front of the hangers there is a bag for storing soiled clothes. In this position here is another design idea, open fully and place a large piece of stained wood across the top. SMALL ANTIQUE WOODEN TRUNK RED OFF WHITE CREAM COLOR PAINT, DESCRIPTION: We are selling this great little old trunk with red painted top and old white or cream color painted body. The piece is 9 1/2" high with the body being 19 1/2" long. 13 1/2" front to back; the lid is 20 1/4" long and 14 1/4" front to back. The inside is 6 1/2" deep and has an opening that s 16 1/4" long and 10" front to back. It has 4 old porcelain wheels attached to the bottom underside frame; the underside of the bottom panel has some printing on it in black which leads us to believe that this was a homemade piece. The underside edge of the apron has some old red paint as does the outside of the apron where the lighter paint has worn away; leads us to believe that the piece was repainted at some point but we are not sure when ... moreand the light paint definitely has some age. CONDITION: The base has some crackled paint on the bottom trims. Some scuffs and some yellowing to the off white/cream color paint. The lid has some roughness in the top back lid, the front edge has some worn/broken off pieces and lots of little holes, like something was tacked onto it, while the side edges of the top each have 2 larger holes the top inside of the lid has a few places where the lighter paint from the base is stuck to it. The paint has some wear spots and some areas of darkening, inside and outside. The original hinges are gone and there are recessed areas where they were; they have been replaces with smaller old hinges. Some areas inside have a reddish tint, could have been repainted at one time; there are also some drippings/runs of the lighter paint coming down from the top edges; we are also not sure if the lid was repainted but the paint is in good condition for the age of the box. Hi.up for auction and for local pickup by Disneyland Ca.See all pictures and ask questions that are important. payment must be processed thru ebay before pick-up. This is a box that has 2 Alpine speakers.There is about 20 hours of use on the speakers.The box is not the most attractive and the felt that covers it is lifted a little and open in the back. This has been sitting and my son will not use in current vehicle and this is heavy and needs to go. The garage needs to be cleaned up.
