$38.00 Shipping Condition: Used Location: Raleigh, United States A recent estate sale purchase. A small child's size travel/ steamer trunk complete with a tray and a key. This trunk measures approximately 22" ... morelong X 14" wide X 15 1/2" high and it has two hinges in back that hold the lid securely to the base. There used to be sturdy leather handles on each side of the trunk but they are no longer intact, these can be purchased inexpensively on-line and they're fairly easy to replace. The corner protectors and hardware appear to be brass plated steel. There are two hasp type closures, one on each side of the lock and the lock needs to be bent just a little to close it securely. We tried the key and the locking mechanism seems to work properly but we didn't want to damage anything so it will arrive open with the key tucked in an envelope safely inside. The inside of the trunk is wood and there should be wood beneath the black material covering the outside(it is non-magnetic and we don't think it's metal) This little trunk is in very good condition and once it's restored it should be a beauty- perfect for your antique doll collection or as a gift for a very special grandchild. Up for sale is this beautiful antique dome top steamer trunk with ornate embossed metal work and a working key. The trunk measures 32" long by 18" wide and 21" tall. The exterior of this trunk was cleaned. Sanded and the wood slats were stained with minwax"golden oak" then the trunk was sealed with spar urethane. The interior lining was removed then the wood was sanded and stained with minwax"golden oak" as well. This trunk shows some wear from age and has some minor flaws i.e. one of the hinges is broke(does not effect the stability, very functional) overall the trunk is in very good condition. Arch Top Steamer Trunk Beautifully restored. 1800's trunk. Top is covered in a crocodile vinyl, new handles made of the same crocodile vinyl. Wood has a deep red mahogany finish, remainder of trunk is finished in deep browns, finished on the bottom also. Interior is covered in a deep brown felt. Nice sturdy piece. Doesn't look like it ever had latches, does have a lock, but no key. I have been told that a locksmith will be able to come up with a key, due to the primitive nature of the lock. It also never had wheels, like some do, and no interior trays. Has enough of a flat surface on top to hold a tray, so it could be used as a coffee or end table. Up for bid is a gorgeous. Rustic vintage steamer trunk. I am not sure about the brand or label. I am not sure about the age either,but as I researched and compared it to the other listings, I believe it is from the 1940's or earlier. The leather straps are broken, and they are almost entirely gone, but the hinges and latches are still attached.There is no key. Some of the metals are also present, but rusted. There is no tray inside. It seems that it used to be covered with canvas, but it is faded and almost entirely gone. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful rustic piece that can be a coffee table in its present, original state or when its restored. Great for a steam punk style project. For Auction: Antique 1930s Henry Likly Full Size Steamer Wardrobe Trunk. It is an unusual design. Half of the front door opens. And a leg pops open to hold it up. When you close it, the leg closes up. The leg appears that it needs a little maintenance as it needs a helping hand to close it up. It is difficult to close the trunk completely. It can be closed. But you have to fight it a little. There is no key. The lock does not lock. It appears that it may be missing the top to the drawer section. But I am not sure. The base is 22" by 23" by about 40" tall. Here is what an expert told me about the trunk: Manufacturer: Henry Likly. The Henry Likly Trunk Company was established in 1844 as A.R. T.H. Pritchard. Upon graduating from school Henry Likly took an apprenticeship with A.R& T.H.Pritchard and mastered his trade in the ... moretrunk manufacturing industry.In January of 1868 Mr. Likly was given a partnership in the company. The company then became A.R. T.H. Pritchard& Company. Three years later it became A.R. Pritchard& Likly.When Henry Likly and his brother in-law became the sole proprietors of the business the name was changed to Henry Likly& Company. This was the name from 1870 when A.R. Pritchard retired until 1925 when it simply became"Likly's"As far as I can tell the company was ran by his children after his death in 1897. In New York State the Henry Likly trunk company was the largest factory of its time. Located at 340 Lyell Ave in Rochester N.Y. the factory covered two acres of land. Extra Large Vintage Steamer Trunk 36" X 20" X 22"
Sturdy trunk could be used as a coffee table. The hinge and latches work and it will stay open be its self. The lock appears to work but I don't have a key so I can't really test it. It is a wood frame covered with a hard plastic like sheeting with metal corners and accents. Dark green. Gold and red. This trunk has a lot of history. Left over shipping tags, scratches and marks, it even looks like a double bladed rip saw tried to cut off one of the bottom corners until it hit the metal corner braces and you can see in the last photo that one blade made it all the was through, one of the thick leather handles on the side is worn almost all the way through and it wouldn't survive if the trunk had a load in it. DONNELLY ANTIQUES this hard to find dresser trunk does not have a makers name but it is still in nice condition. there are 3 drawers. 2 large and 1 small. and a compartment above them that long long has its cover that would have been held down by the to snaps on the leather straps. it has normal wear for a item of this vintage, solid shiny black bottom no rust with for caster wheels.the drawers are complete solid bottoms, lining is intact. all of the extertior locks work as designed snapping the trunk tight. the lock is broken but should be easy to replace. the trunk is 34" wide, 22" deep, 27" tall when closed.

There is a picture of a Victorian ... morewoman on the inside of the lid. One of the handles has a"Railway Express" tag from Brighton, and a faded"Railway Express Agency" sticker is on the bottom. The two side latches work properly and the center lock is a bit stiff and may not work. There is some writing undermeath the center lock that is hard to read but it looks like it says"Patented 1867, reissued Aug. and we cant't seem to make out the rest. We believe this is from the late 1800's to early 1900's but are unsure of the actual age. There is some very nice ornate designs on the riveted corners and the black metal on the tops and sides. There is some damaged wood and some damage to the metal on one corner, also some rust on the back hinges. The inside has some cracking in the wood but is still in good shape. This is a fantastic vintage cedar-lined brass trunk with wooden feet. It stands 18" high. Measurements of the trunk without feet are 30.5" x 16" x 16" The lock is no longer operational and stays closed with a magnet for convenience of use. It is heavy. Strong, sturdy and very usable. This is in used-vintage condition. The brass shows wear and use with scratches and tiny dings. Mostly concentrated on the top. The top looks to have been heavily used, but this adds to its vintage charm. The lock, metal handles and wooden feet also show wear. Overall, this is a great, hard to find vintage piece! I am liquidating an estate and there are many dolls coming up for sale. Check all my auctions as I'm happy to combine shipping. Here is a very old vintage doll trunk; made just like Mom's! Big size ~ 18" tall. Almost 11" across, and 9" deep. This trunk opens up so you can hang the clothes and put accessories in both the top bin(can open that all the way up too ~ see pics) and the bottom drawer. There are great travel stickers all over this trunk like Swooping across the Atlantic on the SS Col. Lindbergh; Down the Nile to Silent Father of Mystery S. S. Alexandria and many more. All the necessary items are in place on this trunk such as the top handle to carry it with. The inside drawers even have their knobs, the key is tied to the outside, the metal hanging rod is in place, All decorative metal corners are in place, ... moreetc. There are some age conditions such as some of the paper being worn on the trunk, the bottom drawer has some tape on it and there is some minor staining throughout as you would expect for a piece from the early 1900's. You are bidding to purchase an amazing primitive antique steamer trunk that is unmarked. But reminds me of the Louis Vuitton ones. And covered with a textured substance that reminds me of leather. But I’m not sure that’s what it is. I appreciate any information you can provide about this well-traveled piece of history. It is wooden and has rounded corners and measures approximately 33 x 21 x 13 inches and has leather strap handles on the ends for easy carrying. One end of the strap is secured to the trunk and the other end will slide back and forth to a metal stop so that the leather handle will lay flat when not in use and pulls out for a comfortable grip when moving it. This case features a rounded wooden trim with metal(possibly brass) guards on the corners. It has 3 metal hinges to hold the lid in place and a metal trim band around the ... morelid and along the front side corners. There are several labels or stickers on this case. Some of them read: On the right end: HAMBURG-AMEWRIKA LINIE D. DEUTSCHLAND(I believe this is the Hamburg-American lines) Another one also reads HAMBURG AMERIKA LINIE A third one on that end is worn but is also from Hamburg America Line(per the logo) A forth one on that end says OBERSEE-GEPACK-NR. With a number that looks like it may be 23803 followed by S. DEUTSCHLAND HAMBURG-AMERIKA LINIE(THE LAST LINE HAS BEEN WORN AND IS MOSTLY ILLEGIBLE) The white label on the other end has a number 9. Beautiful Antique Metal Dome Steamer Trunk with Wooden Slats and Original Key!
For sale is this BEAUTIFUL antique dome steamer trunk. It comes with the ORIGINAL key(very rare) The dimensions are: Width: 30" Depth: 19" Height: 24" If you live close(LI/NYC) and are unable to pick it up or do not want to pay for shipping. I may be able to meet you somewhere to give it you for a small fee. Please contact me ahead of time to inquire about this. The trunk has wheels and an additional compartment inside(see pictures) There is a place along the top of the inside where the liner seems to be coming off(original liner) It also has both original handles. But one of them has detached and can not support the weight. You would not be able to tell the handle is not fully attached by just looking at it. Other than that, the trunk is in great shape! Antique Tin Covered Steamer Trunk
Very Cool Antique Tin Covered Steamer Trunk. The leather handle on the right is broken but still there. The left side handle is strong and in very good shape. It measures 32" wide. 18 1/4" deep, 21 3/4" tall. Great piece for a bench at the door, for end table with storage, or accent piece. Fun to clean up or use as in. It is very clean inside.
