Name on hasp is"Eagle Lock Co" made in USA" Terryville. Conn" 8446-2" Dimensions; 36.5" wide/ 22.5" front to back/ 23.5" high. Brass and Black metal covered wood. 2 original metal casters. 2 replaced rubber casters. A few small dents on the left- front brass. Pieces of one original leather handle remain. This is a fantastic vintage cedar-lined brass trunk with wooden feet. It stands 18" high. Measurements of the trunk without feet are 30.5" x 16" x 16" The lock is no longer operational and stays closed with a magnet for convenience of use. It is heavy. Strong, sturdy and very usable. This is in used-vintage condition. The brass shows wear and use with scratches and tiny dings. Mostly concentrated on the top. The top looks to have been heavily used, but this adds to its vintage charm. The lock, metal handles and wooden feet also show wear. Overall, this is a great, hard to find vintage piece! Offered for sale is an Antique vintage small trunk covered in leather accented with brass studs. The wood looks very dark and appears to be mahogany. But I'm not sure. The box measures 12.5" long x 7' wide x 4' high. Has one compartment. The outside of the box shows some age appropriate wear, the photos greatly magnify the surface wear, in person the box wears the patina of age gracefully, and presents very well. Nice to find a true gentleman's box, most are the much smaller stud boxes, but this is a really useful size for emptying pockets of keys, change and pens etc, it would make a great gift. This trunk has a lot going for it. With its flat top. It makes a nice coffee table. Once it gets aired out, it would be extra storage space. It is quite attractive, in a"shabby chic" sort of way. It is quite old, although I don't know where it came from. My mother had it in her attic for as long as I can remember(which is a pretty long time) For the past 8 years, it has been in storage. WE just got it out, but since we have 2 others, we really don't need this one. It is black, with brass fittings/edges, so its quite attractive. Unfortunately we didn't have the key so had to"pick" the lock. It will shut properly, so you can carry it, but won't lock. The leather handles on each end are well worn, but we were able to use them-carefully! to move the thing. Inside, it has a decent lining, which you can see in ... morephoto 6. There are 2 trays, neither one of which is the original, as they don't fit on the edges properly. The first, shown in photos 7 and 8, has 2 compartments and fastens with a couple leather straps with snaps(one is broken) The edges of this drawer are rather crushed(see photos 11 and 12) There is another tray underneath, which has some sort of dried goop, that probably was gooey at one point, as it has been covered with tape. Trunk, 32"x19"x16", Wood with Metal Trim, Golden Studs and Brass Hardware
This beautiful trunk is made from thick plywood and is very heavy. About 40 pounds. It has numerous brass tacks on the surface and along the metal strips, and hinges which have been painted gold. The interior has also been painted- beige. There is an insert(not the original) available to the buyer if he/she wants it(if not, I'll lower the cost of shipping a tad) See the photos- it is obvious that it is too small for this large trunk. The lid opens and closes easily and remains open, in spite of evidence on the right side that a hinge may be missing. The brass clamps in the front work fine to keep it securely closed. There is no lock. The leather straps on the sides are in good condition, useful, and give authenticity to its antique status. Quite a unique trunk with a few quirks.

It's got lots of character and Measures 3 feet long. 13 inches tall, and 20 inches deep, or"front to back" And It goes with more than you'd think due to the brown edging and brass hardware. It just looks cool wherever you put it. Has wear& tear like any antique that gives it an real nice feel. Lock does not line up with receptacle that well. Have not tried to lock the chest, no key. However these locks are very easy to open using a small flathead without causing damage if accidently locked.
