Chest has very nice carved feet front and back with bowed top as well as bowed front. It measures approx 22" tall including swivel mirror. 12 1/4" wide at feet, and 9" deep at feet and has 2 small drawers at top and l larger drawer at bottom. Mirror is in fine condition. The small drawers each measure approx 5 3/8" x 4" x 2 1/2" deep. The one on the right has a smaller pull than the others but it appears to have been put on at the same time. Bottom drawer measures approx 9 3/8" x 8" x 3 3/8" deep. Bottom drawer has original lock(no key) and is lined with a silver color paper which appears to be very old. Appears to be all hand built with dovetailed joints and very old hardware. Possibly the original stain showing nicely aged patina. Latch is not working looks to be missing a piece on it so it is not working. There are a couple age cracks in the bottom of the chest which is to be expected from the age of this piece. It is 17" long 13" high and 11" deep still in solid condition. Rare find and the only one I've ever had like this, thanks for looking!

THANK YOU. Here is a stunning and very desirable approximately 150 year old antique Japanese small Choba tansu. Or merchant's chest, dating from the Meiji Era around the mid to late 1800's, featuring a lock bar in the center and classical safe compartment at the bottom right. It boasts a natural light colour with a rich honey patina, beautifully shaped hand forged iron hardware, wood peg construction and 8 drawers of various sizes that provide versatile storage options including a full width drawer at the top. It is in excellent overall condition for it's age. But has a little lock issue: as there is no key and the top drawer lock is in the closed position with the drawer open it will not shut all the way. The safe compartment has a tendency to swing open by itself since there is no key to lock it. The lock issue does NOT affect the lock bar which slides in and out of place properly. Please read the description and examine the photos for more details on the condition. Locksmiths and larger antique dealers will own sets of multiple keys to fit a broad range of locks so you should be able to get the drawer unlocked easily enough so it slides into place. With a little patience you could also find an antique key that fits right here on ebay(I can recommend a seller who regularly stocks this type of item) Other small issues worth noting are a small repair in the bottom corner of the smallest drawer just above the safe compartment. The larger top drawer is stiff to open and close due to age and needs a tweak, and one corner plate in the back is bent out of shape. Given it's age there is some wearing off of the blackening of a few small spots of the iron, and a couple of small nails are missing. For your consideration is this primitive antique wood Child's or Doll Trunk. Rounded top. The inside is covered with litho paper designs, very nice, with compartments. Unfortunately, some previous owner covered the outside with thick gold gilt paint, peeling off. Other flaws include: the leather straps are dry and split in two, appears to be missing hinges in the back. I think the wood is walnut, not positive. The trunk measures about 8 1/2" tall, and 12" by 8"

Large Asian / Chinese Carved Wood Chest or Trunk BEAUTIFUL STORAGE Bird Motif
This is a rather large and elaborately carved Asian/ Chinese wood chest with a brass handle latch. I am not certain but I believe it is camphor wood. The pheasant/ bird motif is exquisitely carved on all five sides of the chest. The measurements are as follows: 39.25” Wide x 20” Tall x 19” Deep. I do not know how old it is or where it originally came from but this beautiful storage/ decorative trunk is in excellent shape except for the worn/ mildly damaged corner on the left front. Primitive Ornate Wood Blanket Chest in as pictured used worn condition it has repairs. Cracks, wear, and even some wood rot in area's however it is quite sound, it is sold as/is. It has a lot of Ornate Inlay of Cherubs and trim. I have tried to show with the paper arrow some area's of damage, a piece of trim missing, a small corner piece chipped off, the middle Face Foot is loose. It is approx 67-1/4" Long by 26-1/2" Tall and 21" back. This one has a key that works in the old lock however on the top lid the catch needs repair for it to work. This trunk has heavy duty metal corners and latches. It also has some brass reinforcements. The original lock is broken and does not come with a key. The lock has been disabled and cannot lock. Antique steamer trunk Hump back Dome lid child size chest Tin wood or cardboard
This is bigger than a doll trunk I think. But smaller than an adult size, so I think it was probably for a child to use while traveling or for storage. 20" wide, 12 1/2" tall and 11 1/2" deep. I think it has a this layer of tin with a faux wood grain patter on it and that is either over cardboard or wood. The chest is not super heavy, about 9 1/2 pounds, so it is probably a combination of both materials. Please use the pictures to determine condition. You can tell this was used and it is showing its age. One side has the remnants of what looks like was a leather handle, but the other side does not even have the metal parts of that handle. There are some rivets missing, one of the latches on the front side is missing parts and none of the three seems functional. One of the hinges on the back side is painted green. The tin covering ... moreis scuffed and dented. Still, overall condition for its age, is not really that bad. The lid opens and closes easily and the whole trunk is still solid, not wobbly. I don't have a tray or a key for this one.

Antique Dome Top Child ~ Doll ~ Toy Trunk, Wood Storage Chest, 26x15x14
We believe this dome top trunk to be an antique. And based on it's smaller size possibly a child's trunk or toy trunk. There is no longer a label on the trunk but the inside lid has a print of a bird(see photo) feeding her chicks. The trunk is done with an interesting combination of dark brown and ivory. It looks like the ivory was painted on but probably a good while ago since there is quite a bit of rust and discoloration coming through the paint. The dark brown areas look like tin or some thin metal that has been embossed with the scrolled pattern. The interior still has quite a bit of paper inside but the paper lining is not in good condition. There is a loose bracket on one side that should probably be fixed if the trunk is going to be opened regularly. There are two latches on the front that are still intact. The lock in the ... morecenter is missing the bottom section(the piece mounted on the bottom of the trunk) The trunk could be used"as is" for a primitive decorative piece. Very unusual domed Trunk Treasure Chest that sits on its own metal stand that has paw feet The trunk can remove from stand as shown and be used separately The basic chest is constructed of wood that has been painted however the front and top are encased in sheets of embossed metal. Pictures of angels in a garden setting on each side of the top bands of studded strapping decorate the top of the piece. The metal sheeting has darkened with age it appears it may be copper underneath the patina however we did not clean further but left as it was when purchased at an estate sale The chest is lined in a wine colored plush velvet material in good vintage condition. Somewhere all the road someone lined it with old wall paper. That paper is also old as there are areas where it is coming off and very worn. It would make a nice project for someone to re line the inside with different vintage paper. There are many old age cracks and repairs. VINTAGE STEAMER TRUNK You are bidding on a vintage steamer trunk. This nice trunk is metal with wood trim. It had leather straps and handles. But they have broken off, with only remnants remaining. The chest is rusty on the surface. But seems to be solid. It is lined on the inside with paper. The lock on the outside has the word Yale on it. The trunk measures 20" tall and 19" x 36" length and width. It is 16" deep with the lid open. It is in good vintage condition. With surface rust and the leather straps broken off.
