It is marked"Heywood" on one side and"Eclipse" on the other. Also, there is a"3" There are 5 counter sunk holes around the perimeter of the base and 4 in the top. It has no breaks or repairs, but it also does not sit flat(see further description) The height is adjusted by loosening the 7/8" hex head bolt on the upper part of the cast iron base. Moving the top piece, and then re-tightening the bolt. This pedestal was designed to be screwed to the floor. When it is screwed fast. The screws prevent it from wobbling. When it is not screwed down, it does not sit flat, so it will need to be affixed to something flat(like a board) or have adjustable feet added(threaded chair glides and some nuts would work) or be shimmed(layers of felt, glued together to accommodate the varying distance between the base's rim and the floor) etc. If you have any questions. Set of 6 wooden hangers from an antique wardrobe trunk from the early 1900's. They are in need of some TLC. But will be great for anyone restoring an old trunk! The first picture shows the whole lot. The others include close ups of the wood hangers. Showing their condition. They all measure around 18" wide& 8" top to bottom. Some of them have a little damage on each side as shown it the photos. Antique ornately carved blanket chest.
Here is a great old small carved blanket chest. It is quite unusual in design and I have never seen one like it. And I doubt if the reader has either! Please see all the pictures! It measures 32"W x 20 1/8"D x 32 1/2"W. The inside dimensions are 28" W x 16"D x 8"H. There are normal signs of antique wear and there is an age crack across the decorative back panel. There is also an age crack that runs across the lift up door. There is a ring to pull open the top. But it is loose and needs to be glued in. I am sorry I am not sure what type of wood this is made of, but its a fairly heavy hardwood. This chest has been painstakingly carved by a craftsman. I am not sure of its exact age, but I do know its old and originated somewhere in the western U.S. I know this because 25 years ago I paid to have it shipped here ... moreto the east coast} and the original owner had it for many many years before that. This is a rather large and elaborately carved Asian/ Chinese wood chest with a brass handle latch. I am not certain but I believe it is camphor wood. The pheasant/ bird motif is exquisitely carved on all five sides of the chest. The measurements are as follows: 39.25” Wide x 20” Tall x 19” Deep. I do not know how old it is or where it originally came from but this beautiful storage/ decorative trunk is in excellent shape except for the worn/ mildly damaged corner on the left front. You are bidding to purchase an amazing primitive antique steamer trunk that is unmarked. But reminds me of the Louis Vuitton ones. And covered with a textured substance that reminds me of leather. But I’m not sure that’s what it is. I appreciate any information you can provide about this well-traveled piece of history. It is wooden and has rounded corners and measures approximately 33 x 21 x 13 inches and has leather strap handles on the ends for easy carrying. One end of the strap is secured to the trunk and the other end will slide back and forth to a metal stop so that the leather handle will lay flat when not in use and pulls out for a comfortable grip when moving it. This case features a rounded wooden trim with metal(possibly brass) guards on the corners. It has 3 metal hinges to hold the lid in place and a metal trim band around the ... morelid and along the front side corners. There are several labels or stickers on this case. Some of them read: On the right end: HAMBURG-AMEWRIKA LINIE D. DEUTSCHLAND(I believe this is the Hamburg-American lines) Another one also reads HAMBURG AMERIKA LINIE A third one on that end is worn but is also from Hamburg America Line(per the logo) A forth one on that end says OBERSEE-GEPACK-NR. With a number that looks like it may be 23803 followed by S. DEUTSCHLAND HAMBURG-AMERIKA LINIE(THE LAST LINE HAS BEEN WORN AND IS MOSTLY ILLEGIBLE) The white label on the other end has a number 9. And the text is illegible but looks like it might also say Hamburg. The label on the lid is the amazing oval paper orange label that has a steam boat on the upper portion of the label. Just above the logo HAMBURG-AMERIKA LINIE and at the bottom of the white square it says NEW YORK and has a place for name, vessel and date. The outer area has text and says PRINTED IN GERMANY. Antique Scandinavian Rosemaling Hand Painted Large Sized Legged Chest/Trunk
Up for sale is a beautiful large sized Scandinavian hand painted rosemaling chest that I had sent over by container to the States. I am not sure about the year of this chest but it has a lot of patina and is one of a kind. This chest measures 32" tall. 49" long and 26" deep. There is one wooden bar inside the side of the chest to hold the top open with four small legs each measuring 2" tall.The outside is painted in a maroon color with floral designs in blues and greens. The backside of the trunk is painted in a light blue color as shown in the picture. This would be a lovely storage chest for blankets or clothing. There is definite wear on the outside and inside of this chest that I think only adds to its great patina. I will be happy to ship this chest if need be and will research the best rates. Fantastic Large Antique Black Steamer Trunk Chest
Nice. Heavy black/very dark brown antique steamer trunk. The front lock and both side latches are present. Often the front center mechanisms are missing. Gorgeous metal accents and rivet work. Much of the leather strapping has rotted away which is very normal for these trunks that did most of their travel in the damp bottoms of large ships. The initials JEM has been placed on the side. There is a small dent on the top and water damage to the lining only on the inside as you can see in the photos. PERFECT for an end or coffee table with the flat top, as a restoration project or a blanket chest. Measures 24.5" High, 38" Wide and 22" Deep.
