It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. This doll chest is in good condition. It has definate aged appearance and patina. There are two areas on the inside where the wood is split to the outside(one on the top and one on the inside backing) scratches and faded areas of original black decorative decor. The bottom has a couple nails sticking out. There is rusting on the decorative brass fixtures. There is some fraying of the wood in various areas and some holes that do not protrude to the outside of the box. There are handles on either side of the box. It appears that the tray and handles were added and are not original to the chest. Very nice and decorative detail and appeal. Inside original interior paper is mostly gone. Measures 18" wide x 10 1/2" high x 7 1/2" deep on the inside with removal of the wooden tray. There is no lock for this trunk. Two beautiful handles on either side. Has wonderful metal features and attachments. Opens to a interior tray. Plenty of room. Color: Brown. Fantastic primitive appeal. You are bidding to purchase an amazing primitive antique steamer trunk that is unmarked. But reminds me of the Louis Vuitton ones. And covered with a textured substance that reminds me of leather. But I’m not sure that’s what it is. I appreciate any information you can provide about this well-traveled piece of history. It is wooden and has rounded corners and measures approximately 33 x 21 x 13 inches and has leather strap handles on the ends for easy carrying. One end of the strap is secured to the trunk and the other end will slide back and forth to a metal stop so that the leather handle will lay flat when not in use and pulls out for a comfortable grip when moving it. This case features a rounded wooden trim with metal(possibly brass) guards on the corners. It has 3 metal hinges to hold the lid in place and a metal trim band around the ... morelid and along the front side corners. There are several labels or stickers on this case. Some of them read: On the right end: HAMBURG-AMEWRIKA LINIE D. DEUTSCHLAND(I believe this is the Hamburg-American lines) Another one also reads HAMBURG AMERIKA LINIE A third one on that end is worn but is also from Hamburg America Line(per the logo) A forth one on that end says OBERSEE-GEPACK-NR. With a number that looks like it may be 23803 followed by S. DEUTSCHLAND HAMBURG-AMERIKA LINIE(THE LAST LINE HAS BEEN WORN AND IS MOSTLY ILLEGIBLE) The white label on the other end has a number 9. And the text is illegible but looks like it might also say Hamburg. The label on the lid is the amazing oval paper orange label that has a steam boat on the upper portion of the label. Just above the logo HAMBURG-AMERIKA LINIE and at the bottom of the white square it says NEW YORK and has a place for name, vessel and date. The outer area has text and says PRINTED IN GERMANY. The name written in ink is faint and I cannot determine the name– it looks like ANN… and the last name looks like it starts with an H. I cannot tell the name of the vessel or the date. Shabby yet Chic Old Blue Wooden Trunk with White Lettering
What a great find! Up for sale is this very cool. Very chic trunk. It is a bluish color with white lettering on some spots- it says"caution" on it and there are some numbers on it as well. Don't know exactly where it came from as I got it at an estate sale. It is very cool for any room of your house. The dimensions are 20 in long X 9.5 in wide X 9.5 in deep. This is great for home decor, storage, just about anything. It has 2 metal handles on the sides, metal on the front and it's just so unique- definitely a conversation starter. Primitive Wooden Trunk, Toolbox or Chest
Perfectly imperfect- it is full of primitive. Shabby character! I brought it home, cleaned(scrubbed) it, sanded it, painted it milk black, rubbed some of the edges and oiled it and then cleaned and painted the interior a fresh, crisp aqua. It has been tucked below the black cabinet(now seen resting on the floor) which had been supported by beefy candlesticks for legs. I have decided to part with this little beauty because of the new configuration(hey, I can only stack so high! It measures about 25 1/2" long(or wide) and is 15" front to back. It stands roughly 9"10" high(slightly higher if you include the handle on top) The hinges and hardware(including the chunky, utilitarian handle) are original to the piece(as far as I can tell- I have not altered them) It also came with the chain inside to keep the lid from falling ... morebackwards when opened(and I have left that in place as well) This provides WONDERFUL storage books(we kept photos, photo albums, dictionaries, etcetera tucked out-of-sight in it) blankets, toys, etcetera. It's not so horribly deep that things are buried at the bottom never to be seen again! I did adhere fuzzy, felt feet to the bottom to protect the hardwood floor.

Large Antique or Vintage Trunk. In good condition. Made of wood painted black on outside and has paper lining on inside. Measure 36" wide. 24" tall, 22" front to back. Leather handles on sides are torn off and need replacements. Has metal corners, brackets, hinges, lock. Lock is an'Eagle Lock' with no key included, and unure if it will work. Has some kind of hard leather or hide like material around edges. Has an identification sticker on top which cant be fully read, but is shown in photos. Can only make out location, Newark NJ, and above that the last 3 letters of name'ard' Paper lining on inside in poor shape and metal bracket on inside, that holds top lid from swinging to far back, is broken and needs replacement. Exact date of this steamer trunk is unknown. But I was told it could be around the 1890's, but i can't guarantee that. It is in a very"rustic" condition. Quite beat up but thats part of its charm. It has a great nautical quality, navy blue with wooden trim. It appears to have been painted a dark navy on the trunk in places. Great old piece perfect to make a stand for a coffee table. Lot#2- Vintage Wooden Steamer Trunk Clothes Hangers- Lot of 4 hangers- these are approximately 20 inches wide across the top(the widest point on the hanger) and the notches are approximately 17.5 inches apart at the centers of the notches. They are made of plywood(looks like birch or cedar to me) about 1/4 inch thick- 3 of the hangers are in VERY GOOD CONDITION- 1 has some warpage. Overall I would rate the lot as GOOD PLUS CONDITION. Hi. Thanks for visiting. I'm selling my antique steamer trunk because of the fact that we're downsizing our living situation. Otherwise, I would certainly hang on to it- it is really a nice piece. I acquired this at a local antique store about ten years ago and have kept it on display ever since. It is made mostly of wood. With some metal rivets and leather straps. I'm not sure when it was constructed, but it is definitely of significant age. It measures approximately 34" long by 21" wide by 24" tall. The trunk is obviously old. So it isn't in perfect condition. One of the metal buckles has come loose from one of the leather straps, for instance. Carved wooden steamer trunk
We bought this chest at an estate sale. From the estate of Stanford Jolley. Stanford was a Hollywood set director, as well as designer for parts of Disneyland in the 1950's. We were told the chest belonged to Stanford's dad, Stan Jolley, who was a character actor in something like 500 movies in the 20's and 30's. and appeared in Disney productions. We bought it only because it was such an unusual, beautiful, piece of art. But, it doesn't really fit our house, and I'd like to see it go to a good home. It measures 40" by 20" deep, by 21" and was made by the George Zee Company, of Hong Kong, and has a serial number of 69-109932. We do not have a key for it. It is in truly remarkable condition, showing only some discoloration in some of the varnish.
