This steamer trunk is from an Estate sale. It's from the 1940's. Is Black metal and Brass and is just beautiful! Locking hasp works. Keys included. Name on hasp is"Eagle Lock Co" made in USA" Terryville. Conn" 8446-2" Dimensions; 36.5" wide/ 22.5" front to back/ 23.5" high. Brass and Black metal covered wood. 2 original metal casters. 2 replaced rubber casters. A few small dents on the left- front brass. Pieces of one original leather handle remain. The other handle has been temporarily replaced by plastic covered wire. This item is located in East Meadow. New York for free local pick up but can be shipped by carrier if requested. Vintage Black Metal Covered Steamer Excelsior Trunk
Vintage flat topped metal covered steamer Excelsior trunk. Has been kept inside a smoke and pet free home. Height: 22.5 inches width: 32 inches Depth: 19 inches Would make an excellent restoration project. While the paint is damaged and needs to be redone. There is minimal damage to the metal itself. The drawer lifts out easily. The drawer insert does require some repair. The damage would be easily remedied by re-papering. There is no key for the lock. I have seen keys for this particular Excelsior trunk lock. The code for the key is 5989. The hasps on either side of the lock work well. I have owned this trunk for close to 30 years. It was vintage. Close to antique when I bought it. In all the years I have owned this trunk, I have not seen another one as large as it.

Small Vintage Black Leather and Wood Trunk. I believe it is real leather/cow hide. It has a tag in almost immaculate condition on the inside of the lid that says Warren Leather Goods Co. Worcester Mass. The outside is black. The leather is not tight to the wood and slightly wavy in some spots. There is some blotchiness, evidence of stickers and wear to the finish. There is a"T" inside of a diamond painted on in red on both sides of the trunk. It has only a few wear holes on the edges that are 1" in diameter where the leather is doubled and a few spots along the corners on the inside where it is bare. There is evidence of a strap that went across the top that is now missing. The carrying strap is missing an end and the stitching has come a loose on its edges. There are metal bars on the top four corners, two flat hinges and ... morewhat looks like a pin hinge in the center of the two hinges along the back side. There are two latches on either side and a key latch in the middle on the front, which I do not have the key for, so I did not test it. The hinges, latches, strap holders and rivets are metal and show wear, rust and have normal discoloration from iage. On the inside there is a cloth lining that shows wear, some staining/yellowing with age and is coming loose in a couple of spots. An amazing vintage piece ideal for storage and display. Large Antique or Vintage Trunk. In good condition. Made of wood painted black on outside and has paper lining on inside. Measure 36" wide. 24" tall, 22" front to back. Leather handles on sides are torn off and need replacements. Has metal corners, brackets, hinges, lock. Lock is an'Eagle Lock' with no key included, and unure if it will work. Has some kind of hard leather or hide like material around edges. Has an identification sticker on top which cant be fully read, but is shown in photos. Can only make out location, Newark NJ, and above that the last 3 letters of name'ard' Paper lining on inside in poor shape and metal bracket on inside, that holds top lid from swinging to far back, is broken and needs replacement. Vintage/antique steamer trunk, black/brass, flat top, monogram "WFK",
This trunk has a lot going for it. With its flat top. It makes a nice coffee table. Once it gets aired out, it would be extra storage space. It is quite attractive, in a"shabby chic" sort of way. It is quite old, although I don't know where it came from. My mother had it in her attic for as long as I can remember(which is a pretty long time) For the past 8 years, it has been in storage. WE just got it out, but since we have 2 others, we really don't need this one. It is black, with brass fittings/edges, so its quite attractive. Unfortunately we didn't have the key so had to"pick" the lock. It will shut properly, so you can carry it, but won't lock. The leather handles on each end are well worn, but we were able to use them-carefully! to move the thing. Inside, it has a decent lining, which you can see in ... morephoto 6. There are 2 trays, neither one of which is the original, as they don't fit on the edges properly. The first, shown in photos 7 and 8, has 2 compartments and fastens with a couple leather straps with snaps(one is broken) The edges of this drawer are rather crushed(see photos 11 and 12) There is another tray underneath, which has some sort of dried goop, that probably was gooey at one point, as it has been covered with tape. Antique? Vintage? Black forest? Large Carved Wood Trunk Chest
Not sure of age or origin of this truck. But looks too be pretty old. Close look at carvings and some imperfections can bee seen, so i believe hand carved. Looks too have been painted an off white and then a dark stain over it in the past. Quite a few nicks and scuffs reveal this history of paint and stain. Back has a split and a piece missing from a previous repair. Some screws on the hinges look too be old flat heads and some are newer phillips heads. Has oblong round ball legs. Lid does not completely close, has a quarter inch gap in front, maybe from warping from age. Inside has removable tray insert. Wood has a strong, but pleasant smell almost like cedar, but not sure what type of wood it is. Trunk measures 30 inches wide, 18 1/2 inches tall, 16 inches deep. Please study pics too see imperfections in the piece. Could use a good cleaning ... moreand some stain touch ups. Trunk is very heavy and large, and i will keep at local pick up. In regards too shipping the best i will do is bring the trunk too a local UPS store and winning bidder must deal and pay them.
