Antique English Style Mahogany Dresser w Mirror (1880's-1930's) Prince of Wales
Turn of the Century English Style Dresser with Mirror w/ 5 Drawers in Solid Mahogany with Brass Pulls. The dovetail construction is similar to that of reproduction style furniture manufactured in America between the 1890's-1930's. This piece has a few types of European style detailing throughout. The dresser has 5 drawers. 3 smaller drawers on the top row and 2 large drawers below. The top 3 drawers have working locks but we received the dresser without the matching key. The brass pulls on all the drawers are Prince of Wales Ostrich Feather motifs used in English Style furniture in the 18th Century. The bottom drawer has a French Louis XV/Louis XVI style wood carvings. All the drawers are in excellent working condition(metal pin guides) with clean interiors. The bottom 2 drawers are the largest in size both adorned with the Prince ... moreof Wales brass pulls. Both in good working condition with clean interiors. The front legs are carved in the Edwardian Style with very little wear. And tapered legs in the rear. Side and top mahogany panels are in very good condition with very minor wear. The Louis XV style molding on the sides near the top are very similar to details used in English Style furniture in the 18th Century. The top of the mirror has a gallery style backing with an oval shaped beaded wood pattern and is finished in the center with another wood carved Prince of Wales Ostrich Feather motif. For the age this piece is in excellent condition with exquisite detailing. The dresser also offers lots of storage and will be a great piece to put in any bedroom. This is an old Antique saleman's sample clothes dresser with a Mirror. Or possibly a Jewelry Box. It has the original finish on it although quite crackled. It stands 25" Tall overall. Antique chestnut washstand from the turn of the 20th century. The top measures 30.75 inches wide by 16.5 deep. The piece is 34.75 tall to top of splash board. The small drawers measure 11.5 inches wide by 7.25 tall by 14.25 deep. The door is 11.5 inches wide by 15.5 tall. The only issue to report is that the back splash may be a replacement. The condition overall is very good: the top was lightly sanded and varnished and the bottom underside was braced with steel right angles. There are no casters. Since shipping is not economically feasible the buyer has the right to inspect the piece and receive refund if not satisfied. No returns after acceptance.

The inlay design is in perfect condition. The mirror in the back of the top is beveled and has a few dark points from age and wear. The mirror in the front no doubt replaces a previous beveled mirror or decorate metal sheet that once was there. I replaced the missing piece with a plain piece of mirror because I had it on hand and never pursued changing it. The hardware is original as far as I know and very durable. This could be used by a fireplace or a night stand or an occasional piece. I used it by the doorway to hold umbrellas. Beautiful piece. Just enough detail to elegant but not so much as to be gaudy. It has a wonderful hidden 7th drawer on the bottom. It measures 40 x 22 inches on the top and is 41 inches tall. It weighs about 155 lbs. This dresser was manufactured at the Grand Rapids Michigan factory where they produced furniture from 1875-1974. In the top left drawer is the inlayed Berkey and Gay logo pictured above. Under the bottom right drawer is the Model number stamped into the wood"3284 037G" Note the finish is cracked and has a rough matt like finish(see picture) There are a few minor scratches chips etc commensurate with it's age. Victorian Rococo style Flamed mahogany Bowfront dresser w/matching wall mirror
Victorian period Rococo style flamed mahogany or rosewood bow front commode/dresser drawers with matching wall mirror. The front is veneered flame mahogany with dovetail drawers with french style bronze or brass drawer pulls with great patina on and around the pulls. The drawer guides on the bottom of drawers are metal. The serpentine top looks to be solid mahogany or rosewood with the numbers 57 230 102 stamped into the back of the top. The cabinet is a 9 drawer unit with a hidden compartment above the center drawers. Hand carved designs exist above the outside drawers wrapping around the sides to the back. Hand carving exist on the front rounded corners and between the sets of drawers culminating to a different carving at the bottom matching the whorl feet. Commode/dresser chest has not been cleaned or refurbished in any way by me it does ... morehave a scratch on the side which I have pictured and the top has its patina to show its age. The measurements of the dresser/commode are 64" W x 22" D x 34" H. The matching wall mirror has Rococo hand carved pediment crest cornice at the top with a C scroll cornice missing on right side and on the left side someone has tried to nail the cornice back on this mirror needs some restoration on the carved pediments. Measurements of the mirror are 56" W x 45" H.

From an estate and dusty from a few years of storage. This is a stunning vanity with bench in the Art Deco style. The wood veneer has a chevron style which is quite beautiful. There are carved wooden pulls on the 4 drawers. I love the"flame" motif on the wood holding the mirror. This piece is part of a complete set which is listed separately. This is a four drawer dresser with an attached mirror and two handkerchief drawers(these are not attached to the top of the dresser) All of the hardware is original and the drawers are dovetailed. It also includes the original casters which can be used with the dresser or not. The mirror tilts and all of the drawers have locks on them. The carvings on the drawers and the base of the mirror are the"spoon" carvings typical of the Eastlake style of furniture. This piece is in excellent condition.
