The chest is unsigned but attributed to John Needles of Baltimore who was a famous cabinet maker back then. It measures 41 inches in height. The top is 49.5x19.5 inches. It is original finish and very clean. I believe the pulls are original as well. It is well made and a beautiful chest with the pronounced birds eye drawer fronts. It is well made which is how the old cabinet makers used to make them. Due to the size of this piece it either needs to be picked up here on Cape Cod or it must be shipped freight at the cost of the purchaser. We can recommend a couple of freight shippers on the east coast who do a very nice job for a reasonable price. Absolutely Gorgeous Birdseye Maple Dresser& Mirror.From 1917 Life is short. Surround yourself with beauty! A spectacular piece of American made furniture that glows with its wonderful birdseye maple. This was made by the Northern Furniture Company which was located in Sheboygan. Wisconsin. The company logo is branded inside the top middle drawer. I am very certain of the date this piece was made.since it was stamped on the back(as required at the time) of the mirror glass. The original mirror was damaged so I had a new custom mirror made.The new mirror is a work of art itself, it was hand beveled(not machine made) following the contours of the frame, it looks fantastic. I restored this piece meticulously from top to bottom. Including some veneer restoration. Of course the drawers feature high quality dovetail joinery at all four corners ... moreof the drawers. The drawers were all taken apart and fully restored, strong and rock solid,they slide excellently.I restored the entire finish with many, many coats of hand rubbed varnish, bringing out the wonderful character of the all the wonderful maple grains. A fact about the birdseye.it is called"heavy birdseye maple"this means it has the most birdseyes per square inch of all birdseye maple. This"heavy birdseye maple" is extremely rare and highly sought after. You will notice the stunning darker brown highlights(photos) in wood such as on the front legs and the mirror frame. These are natural highlights in the wood. The birdseye maple is thick veneers. The solid maple knobs are original to the piece. the solid brass keyhole covers I added for flair. All of the locks work perfectly, with the new key.This piece is built like a tank, made with solid maple. This is a lovely Birdseye Maple Vanity/Dresser with oval mirror circa 1950's. It is a very lovey. Charming piece and also very practical with two large drawers for your treasures. It is in great condition. I had this dresser for 20 years and it was already old. I used it in my master bedroom then I put it in my guess room and now I am moving and do not have space for it. I bought it at an antique shop and paid $800.00. I hope this darling piece will go to a person who appreciates the warm and beauty of old days. With an attached beveled glass mirror and 3 drawers with brass keyholes that do lock, needs a key-will be looking for one but many antique shops have a selection of antique keys) There are removable wheels on the legs. This measures approximately 40 in. W. x 20 in. deep x 27-3/4 in. H to the top of the dresser with the wheels in and 26-1/2 in. H. with the wheels removed. Top of dresser has normal wear and tear, but is in very good condition. Has dovetail detail on drawers. Top drawer is scalloped, and bottom two drawers and storage area with door are square. Stands on four legs. Measures 28 5/8 inches tall, 32 1/8 inches wide and is 18 inches deep. Has an offset section on the back of the dresser, which can hold a mirror; mirror and/or mounting hardware is not included with this piece. Antique Birdseye Maple Two Drawer Dresser/Vanity with Bevelled Mirror. The mirror is free swinging on a harp shape/style frame. The front edge of the top and the drawers are curved. There are legs with casters and the wheels are made of a dark wood common to this period. The casters could be removed for a bit of a different look. I am not sure of the age but believe it would be from the 20's or 30's. The dresser measures 33 1/2" wide. 25 1/2" high and 20" deep. The Mirror is 20" wide by 43" tall. The large lower 2 drawers are veneered with stunning burled/flame mahogany. Notice the awesome black wood tones mixed into the burled mahogany grains. These colors are all natural. The finish I used was many, many coats of hand rubbed varnish over the birdseye maple and the mahogany for the gorgeous natural finish you see which protects the wood and brings out the wonderful grains and textures.The trim along the lower edge of the side panels is a custom addition. I finished all of the mahogany drawer bottoms with many. Many coats of hand rubbed varnish. The upper left drawer I lined with royal blue velvet just for show. The Mirror is Original to the dresser and in fantastic shape, No cracks, smoke or haze. It has a 1/4" bevel around the outside perimeter. and hung via two supports, that allow it to tilt. The front legs are a lions claw foot design, the back are square. There are removable casters on all four legs. The drawer locks are skeleton keyed. All drawers open and close smooth. There are some chips in the veneer located on the ends of the two upper front drawers. Not real obvious but need to be mentioned. This Birdseye maple antique dresser is a rarity. It has an attached beveled swivel mirror that fits within a maple curved frame. And is in good condition. The three dovetailed drawers open easily and still lock. The Birdseye maple is a beautiful golden color. There are a few stains on the top of the dresser. The dresser is 27 1/2” tall(from the floor to top of dresser) and 42" wide, with a depth of 22" front to back. Overall height from the floor to top of mirror frame is 72" The top 2 drawers are 5” deep while the bottom drawer is 7” deep. 1930s maple birdseye art Deco dresser
This is a maple birdseye vanity dresser out of a private collection in Dallas Texas that was brought from Britain in the early 50's. There is some slight chipping along the bottom that could be repaired. This item has not been restored or refinished. It has been kept in a climate controlled warehouse. This piece is from the 30's and really in wonderful condition. the only thing that has been repaired is the brackets in wood that holds the mirror. the hardware is reproduction but original hardware come with it. the corner pieces are original.
