Beautiful Turn of the Century American Oak Dresser Up for your consideration: A wonderful example of fine artistry by American Furniture Makers. This beautiful dresser was purchased at an old estate auction and although a lot of items came from Germany. This belonged to a couple of sisters who moved here from Germany. I am pretty sure they probably purchased it here in America rather than bringing it with them. It does resemble typical American Oak Dressers of the time period- I would say somewhere in the neighborhood of the 1900-1920's. They were quite up in years and the dresser was quite old when they purchased it and I found an Old Catholic Confirmation Certificate(in English) dated 1910 rolled up with what appeared to be an old Marriage License(in German) The lovely Beveled Mirror is in Excellent condition for its age and is framed ... morein a the beautiful Victorian tradition. Beveled Mirror attached well and swivels up or down. The Drawers feature the Grand Serpentine style. The drawers all lock and of course the original skeleton key is included. This is a tiger oak antique dresser that I've had for years. It's time to sell so my loss is your gain! Mirror has lovely carvings at the top and bottom but also some dark areas. Please see photos. Also has beveled edges and is marked 1908 on the back. Honestly, it could be 1906, I can't pull it away from the wall as yet. In good antique condition with one small hole(see pix#11) that my husband made to attach wire to secure it to the wall. We live in earthquake country. Dresser looks great. No obvious scratches. There is 3 or 4 small chips on the bottom of the front(see pix#12) I'm sure the back is rough though, as was the custom way back then. It has 4 good sized drawers. The handles may be reproduction, the screws look new. The locks look old though. Dovetailed corners show it was once painted green, but has been stripped ... moreback to its original finish. Back piece of drawers slide into place. The legs have small wheel casters on the bottom. Dresser measures 42 inches across the widest point. 22 1/2 inches deep. Very Nice Antique Tiger Oak Dresser With Beveled Mirror For sale a beautiful antique oak dresser with beveled mirror and two smaller top drawers and two large drawers below. Solid oak top. Legs, mirror frame and drawer faces. Solid wood drawer interiors. I believe the pattern of the oak is what is called Tiger Oak because of the stripes. The drawers are able to lock with a key– NO Keys included. The mirror and frame detaches from the dresser for hauling if desired. Condition: Dresser In Good + Condition. Looks nice. The mirror has some normal small spotting from age but is all-in-all very nice. The inside of the dresser looks solid. There are some. What looks like, varnish runs on the top of the inside of the dresser and some gluing runs. Not sure of their origin. The dresser side panels appear to be oak plywood as would be normal. All the ... moreedges, front facings, dresser top and mirror are solid oak. The beveled mirror is backed with what looks like masonite. There are some metal pieces in the center that must have something to do with the drawers as a stop? These are all in fine condition but have caused some problems on the bottom of the large drawers. All the drawers are solid. The bottoms of the drawers are'one' solid piece of wood. The large drawer bottoms have warped over time most likely because of being from one solid piece of wood. One has a crack. One drawer is worse than the other but both are warped as seen in the pics. This has caused the metal pieces to wear grooves into the bottom of the large drawers. Whether these can be reshaped or not I don't know(It should be an easy replacement if so desired) They work fine but are grooved. This auction is for the item listed and pictured. My wife and I bought this chiffonier from an antique store about 35 years ago. This was made by the INNIS. PEARCE& CO. in Rushville, Ind. A very unique antique. Tiger oak, hat box, claw feet, nice carving on the mirror base, serpentine front. Beveled glass mirror, and very ornate solid brass hardware. This is about 34" wide. 20" deep, dresser height 48 1/2" and with the mirror, 69 1/2" The casters have wood wheels. This has no broken parts and all of the drawers open and close easy. As so many of this vintage were) with hard-mount mirror(i.e. not easily taken off, as some dressers) measuring as follows: 40" high at top surface area 48" x 22" entire top"work" surface 22" deep(approx. 58" high(to incl. mirror) NOTE: measurements account for/incl. the wheels on the legs = approx. 1 1/2" For the most part. The drawers and doors function quite well: opening, closing. The last 2 photos show the largest blems, each approx. 1" across, and in context, do not stand out, as they do in the isolated photos. The spot is very slightly warped…I’m 99.9% sure that it could be sanded out, but I chose to leave it(didn’t want to mess with the aged finish) Otherwise, other than a bit of green paint remnants here and there(nothing obvious) it’s in fantastic condition. No wobbles…firmly seated. Dovetailed drawers are all solid/function perfectly. This dresser has been well cared for; believe the pulls are original but not 100% sure on that. Each drawer has a lock but don’t have a key to check if they work or not. This dresser has a bonnet/ hat cupboard top right. Two small drawers(5” deep) and 4 larger drawers(2) 5” deep and(2) 6” deep. Finish is in excellent conditions. Antique tiger medium wood tone oak 5-drawer tall-boy dresser
This is a beautiful. Antique, all-wood, hand-constructed, tiger oak 5-drawer tall-boy dresser. The dimensions without the mirror mounted are: 46 inches high x 40 inches wide x 18 1/2 inches deep. With the mirror the total height of the dresser is 68 1/2 inches. The drawers are dove-tailed and have beautiful original iron work. Being an antique. The drawers stick a bit, there's a light water mark on the top in the back and there's a spot of black paint, but it's nothing that can't be easily fixed(see photos) It has never been refinished.
