And is probably American Made(it is not marked ... moreanywhere) The chair looks to be machine made. Because of the turnings of the front posts, but it could be partially hand made. It is solid oak. It has been painted 4 times. Possibly originally. There are only scattered chips of paint, but on a couple I was able to determine that the chair has been painted pink(originally? Light blue. Dark green. And this current pea green. In that order. The chair is super strong and could probably hold an adult with a butt small enough to fit into it. The width of the seat is 12 1/2" x 11 1/4" The chair is 21" tall. 15 1/2" wide at the front and 12 1/2" wide at the back. The rockers are 21" long exactly. The arms are nicely cut in kind of a early American style. The back has 2 2" slats and the seat has 5 2" slats; they are not cracked. There is no structural issues with this chair. Please see the Description Section where I go into detail as to condition. The paint has dulled and taken on a nice patina of its own. But this chair has not been painted in decades, and in fact, the tone of the green has a certain" 1950's" coloring to it. As I state in the Description Section. This paint on this chair could be lead base. Or Kemtone. A brand name paint from the 1950's that adhered well and perhaps also had lead in it. For this reason, I would say this chair is more for an adult to decorate with than it is for a child to use. One of the nicest very nice early to mid- 20th Century children's chair you will see. Here is a fabulous small serpentine chest of drawers measuring 6 1/2" h x 10" w x 5" d finely made in what I believe is walnut(but I cannot guarantee that) take a look at photos. Maybe you can tell what kind of wood it is. Please note: although miniature in size, this is not for a miniature dollhouse but rather a larger"doll sized" piece) This is a wonderful piece of folk art done by someone proud of this piece enough to sign it(illegible to me) and date it 1971. The drawers are lined with vintage brown and tan patterned paper and the drawers have proportionally appropriate handles. 1930's Antique Vanity Dresser Hand Painted Annie Sloan Desk
Antique 1930's double topped box vanity. She was painted in my own hand-mixed decorative paint in shades of cream and indigo blue. She was then hand waxed with Annie Sloan Dark Wax. Which is a premium furniture wax. Set on her original wooden casters(although she is missing one, but it does not affect her functionality) Original hardware and original wooden appliques. This is such a gorgeous piece. This piece can be used as a Desk, a TV Console, a Server, or a Vanity. 49 inches wide, 28 inches tall from counter to floor(top boxes add 5 additional inches) and 20 inches deep. She's very old and has had some veneer issues. Veneer was pulled off where it was loose. Then sanded down and painted over, but you can still see slightly where veneer meets the natural wood, but I think it gives this piece character. Drawers all function. ANTIQUE MINIATURE OAK DOLL DRESSER CHEST OF DRAWERS SALESMAN SAMPLE SCROLL FRONT Beautiful miniature oak 3 drawer dresser. Most likely for a doll house but could be a salesman sample based on the quality scroll work on the drawer faces. This piece was all hand made and put together with nails. Each drawer has wonderful flowing design of acanthus leaves pressed into the face. Each drawer also has great wooden pulls. Based on the 2 holes in the back of the top this most likely had a mirror. Condition wise the is in very good shape for it's age. The drawers all ... moreslide open smooothly and fit nicely into the case. As mentioned there are two holes in the top that held a mirror which unfortunately I do not have. These could easily be filled with oak plugs or covered with a nice runner. The left side does have what appears to be a piece that started to tear out of the wood right along the grain. I think this was a flaw in the wood as the piece is only separated down about 1/2" and is solid below that and tight against the side. The nail at the bottom is not holding it on. That nail is holding the side to the rail. The top drawer bottom does have a piece that has separated but has been glued back on and is tight. The bottom drawer has piece that came off the side but this can easily be glued back on. This does have a few old worm holes in the middle drawer front and the back but no evidence any recent activity. Please see my photos for clarity and ask questions if you have any other concerns. Vintage Oak Bowfront Dresser with Mirror...painted and refurbished!
This is an antique bowfront oak dresser with mirror that although old. Was in great structural shape. Just needed some refreshing. I painted it with Southern Belle Decorative Paints and waxed it with Fiddes Wax. Southern Belle Decorative Paint is for sale on Ebay, Amazon and Etsy. The colors I used were Burlap Feed Sack for the entire piece and I dry brushed the detail pieces with Chrissie's Canning Jar and Talladega Tar. I then waxed in clear wax and Jacobean for the natural top. I painted the original hardware with the Chrissie's Canning Jar and Talledega Tar also. The piece is 42 inches wide. Antique Walnut Short 30" Lingerie Dresser OLDIE
Here is a really neat shorty lingerie dresser for sale. I was told this is Walnut wood. But I am not an expert on wood. This is most likely late 1800s or early 1900s dresser. Really ornate handles, has a cutting board style top shelf that pulls out on top of the drawers, very unique. This stands 30" tall, is 30" wide, and 17" deep. There is surface wear scratching but its all varnish wear, no chips and only one crack on the back panel that is not visible. Could be refinished, but I like how it looks now with the varnish wear other then the black smudge that should be cleaned up on one of the drawers, pictured. Really neat old dresser. We are selling this beautiful antique oak dresser. It was found in our family's farm house. Which was built in 1890. Unfortunately, some of the wood wasn't in the best shape. However, we were able to refinish it and bring out the beauty of this gorgeous piece. The dresser would look great in a guest or kid's bedroom. We considered using it in our bathroom for extra storage. But it was just a little too wide to fit. It would also make a great entry piece, where it could hold hats, gloves, etc. The condition is quite good given its age. There are no major chips. Cracks, or breaks. The drawers all function, but a couple are just a little sticky. It has great age and petina to add just the right amount of character! Thank you for your interest. I used French Enamel Miss Mustard Seed paint with other colors on this piece. Dresser was sealed with clear wax leaving a smooth surface. This piece was in pretty rough shape in places but those areas were left as is to add to the rustic effect of the dresser. The dresser was cleaned and sealed inside and out. There is no old smell. Drawers were finished with a natural clear minwax brightening the natural color. All drawers slide smoothly. Flourishing is hand painted to add a whimsical elegant look with the crystal antique knobs. I loved working on this long project but the end result is"just too cute" I don't mind saying so myself. Tall inlaid vintage Swan carved 7 drawer dresser
You are bidding on this absolutely wonderful very old dresser. It has carved swans on the front. Inlaid wood throughout the piece. It has 7 drawers, which could have been used for either woman or mans dresser. There are number stamps on inside drawers(not sure what they mean) Was going to shabby chic, but when I realized the wonderful work of inlay, and the way the veneer was placed to make the grain of wood go in a specific direction for looks, I just cannot cover this up with paint. I picked it up at an flea market, looks as if someone was going to redo this piece, so the medallion on the front is missing, so is one wooden knob(which could be replaced easily) There is some veneer coming loose and is off on sides where I am sure, was from picking up and moving so many times. This is a waterfall style antique dresser. It has been painted with chalk paint. Distressed, and waxed to protect the finish. Stenciled numbers have been added to the drawers. The drawer handles are original but have been embellished with a coat of silver paint. Very sturdy. Drawers are dovetailed. Some of the veneer had chipped off but was painted over to give it a weathered and worn patina. Any other items seen in the photos are considered props and not included in this auction. This is a GORGEOUS ANTIQUE 5 drawer Cherry wood dresser! Rich beautiful color. Rare find, original hardware. Very similar piece is listed at $1800.00. I am not sure of date. Been in family for years, may be Drexel or Ethan Allan. I am not an expert on antiques but know this is a rare find. Fan design is unique and nearly identical to an $1800.00 piece. Sold Belmont home. Beautiful 4 Drawer Scalloped Front Dresser With Beveled Mirror in Wishbone Frame This dresser is a really nice find and is in good condition. The bottoms of 3 of the 4 drawers have some cracking on them. The wishbone frame and mirror do screw into the dresser and sit well. They were just being propped up in the photo because we are storing the two pieces separately. Nicely sized at 34" to top of dresser. 40" in length and 18" in depth. This is a wonderful mahogany commode with matching mirror in excellent antique condition. The style has Adams/ Louis XVI influences. With floral swags and straight legs. The cabinet has a door which opens with a small antique brass knob and reveals a shelf for storage; the inside is painted an antique green. The finish on this piece is in very good condition. Showing minimal wear It is c. 1 920s-1940s. It has painted edges in places along with inlay stained/ painted wood designs and flourishes on all three panels on the front. With a lovely, large bouquet on the center panel. The silvering on the mirror shows some light oxidation spots overall. Giving it that wonderful aged looked. The mirror has a half ... moreround pediment which is designed to coordinate with the commode. There is a wooden bead(golden paint) which runs around the inside edge of the mirror's frame. The chest has antique painted faux brass casters on the legs. These items were purchased by me from a local antique dealer in the 1990's. I am selling for considerably less than the purchase price. Wooden dresser and Tilting mirror (rehab project)
This was a beautiful dresser but needs someone to work on it to bring it back to its beauty. The top needs to be refinished or the whole thing painted. It has the original hardware which is a real plus. I'm not sure of the wood. It could be walnut with veneer on the top. The mirror is in good condition. 41" x 32" and it tilts. The actual piece is in good condition structurally. One of the drawers should be planed a little to make it fit better. It has dove-tailed drawers.
