This antique/ vintage salesman sample makes a great chest of ... moredrawers for a doll. The wood is either mahogany or walnut. Chest has very nice carved feet front and back with bowed top as well as bowed front. It measures approx 22" tall including swivel mirror. 12 1/4" wide at feet, and 9" deep at feet and has 2 small drawers at top and l larger drawer at bottom. Mirror is in fine condition. The small drawers each measure approx 5 3/8" x 4" x 2 1/2" deep. The one on the right has a smaller pull than the others but it appears to have been put on at the same time. Bottom drawer measures approx 9 3/8" x 8" x 3 3/8" deep. Bottom drawer has original lock(no key) and is lined with a silver color paper which appears to be very old. Antique Federal Style Flame Mahogany Dresser w/ Mirror Chest of 6 Drawers Bureau
Antique Federal style mirrored dresser or chest of drawers dating from the early 1900's. Stunning flame mahogany veneers grace the surfaces of this piece and are decorated with intricate contrasting inlay. An inlay medallion of a lamp has been placed atop the swivelling mirror. This piece has six drawers ina 3 over 3 configuration. Providing ample storage space. All the drawers are made with high quality dovetail construction. The entire piece is raised off of the ground by short tapered square legs sitting on brass and wood casters. Overall. This piece is in good condition. There is some noticeable silver loss to the mirror(see pictures) but no cracks or other damage. The wood has some noticeable wear associated with age, including chips and breakage to the veneers or inlay, including the lamp maedallion at the top of the mirror. See ... morepictures. There is also a chip out of the left side finial and the right side finial is missing altogether. The knob that goes over the swivel action of the mirror on the right side has come off, but we do have it. The wheels of the casters do no turn easily and probably need to be oiled. Feet mostly original w/ repairs and restorations, c. 1770-90 Item# 120010OEY02 This is a beautiful bachelor's chest with fine proportions. Crafted of solid cherry wood throughout all primary surfaces. The case is crafted entirely using dovetail joinery, noting the sides which lock to the top with a half-blind dovetail, covered with a fine molded rim; the bottom mirrors the top construction, and the drawer divider bars dovetail into the face of the chest. These are of only partial depth, not full dustboards, typical of New England designs as it lessened the overall weight of the chest. The facade is four graduated drawers with bold batwing brasses, each replaced using nearly the same holes, ... morethe brasses of the same age as the chest. The drawer construction shows exquisite attention to detail, note the channeling along the top of the drawer framing, a design characteristic of Massachusetts(though also seen throughout other New England states) The sides of the chests wear fine brass carrying handles, each of magnificent proportions with original hand forged screws locking them to the chest. They are likely added to the chest, though since the chest would not have had brasses on the sides of the chest to start with this is difficult to prove. The chest rests on scroll cut bracket feet, mostly original with mostly original blocking, the right side of the feet replaced in exact replication of the rest of the chest. This is a gorgeous piece. A visual delight and crafted with utmost attention to detail. The cherry boards have a wonderful jagged flamed grain with just a tinge of the soft red hue associated with a natural cherry. With a clean overall appeal and a deep patina glowing through the high polish finish, this is a piece that will enhance your living spaces. A large solid mahogany top, molded and incredibly carved on the facade and formed in the reverse serpentine of the chest, rests over a collection of four graduated drawers. The chamfered and fluted corners flank the drawers. Each fully serpentine in form. The flamed mahogany veneers framed in cockbead molding applied around the edges of the drawer, hiding the dovetail construction of the drawers on the front. Own a piece of history with this statement making work if art! Circa 1940. Mahogany, dovetail joints, bow front style with original hardware. Refinished in the shabby chic style using chalk paint and a combination of clear and dark waxes. Top and bottom were restained. All six drawers slide smoothly and straight. Antique Child's Dresser Hand Made Early Painted Piece Mirror 4 Drawers Chippy
Primitive Antique Child's Dresser Great little Mirrored Dresser. Originally purchased at the Brimfield Antique Show in MA. This is a great little chippy piece. Do not know the history, my guess it was a hand made piece by someone with very good wood working skill. There is a nice carved pediment across the top over an early mirror. Turned columns on the sides of the mirror and nice decorative trim around the mirror. There are two shallow wide drawers and two square deeper drawers on the bottom. As you can see in the pictures one of the drawer bottoms was made from a wood crate and one of the sides also shows the imprint of a wood crate under the paint(see last picture) There are old metal wheels on the bottom. In good solid antique condition. The paint is worn and chipped, there is wear to the mirror with some silver loss, on the side ... morewhere the imprint of the crate can be seen there is a break to the trim wood on the back corner. On the old wood backing it looks like there is an old water mark. It has seen years of use. Still a great primitive chippy piece that could be left as is, or repainted for a bright clean finish. The top piece with the columns and the mirror is held on with screws and can be removed to cut down on shipping cost. Dresser measures 31" tall. 19" wide and about 12" deep. Up for your consideration is this beautiful dresser. I am 60 yrs old. My mother purchased this dresser for me at an auction when I was 20. At the time when my mom bought it. The dresser was an antique. That tells me it is at least 60 years old. I think it is walnut wood. I also think it is veneer. Please understand that I am not a wood expert so I could be wrong. Antique Tiger Oak Dresser W/ Beveled Mirror 4 drawers PALMDALE CA PICKUP ONLY
This is a tiger oak antique dresser that I've had for years. It's time to sell so my loss is your gain! Mirror has lovely carvings at the top and bottom but also some dark areas. Please see photos. Also has beveled edges and is marked 1908 on the back. Honestly, it could be 1906, I can't pull it away from the wall as yet. In good antique condition with one small hole(see pix#11) that my husband made to attach wire to secure it to the wall. We live in earthquake country. Dresser looks great. No obvious scratches. There is 3 or 4 small chips on the bottom of the front(see pix#12) I'm sure the back is rough though, as was the custom way back then. It has 4 good sized drawers. The handles may be reproduction, the screws look new. The locks look old though. Dovetailed corners show it was once painted green, but has been stripped ... moreback to its original finish. Back piece of drawers slide into place. The legs have small wheel casters on the bottom. Dresser measures 42 inches across the widest point. 22 1/2 inches deep. Dresser is 35 inches tall and the mirror adds another 40 inches. Mirror frame is 38 inches wide at the bottom. I restored this chest from top to bottom and customized it along the way! The chest is classic in design.With superb lines,wood grains to die for, it also has drawers that increase by 1 inch in depth as you go down the front of the chest, a feature many consider the gold standard of a true"chest of drawers"The African crotch mahogany is matched over the entire front of the chest. When I acquired it the original shellac finish was so opaque you could not see any of the flame mahogany on the drawer fronts.I was delighted to find the beautiful maple and flame mahogany woods under the old finish.The side panels are gorgeous mahogany veneers.I restore antiques and customize furniture. I knew this piece had great lines and bones. The requirements for greatness. This is a 1920's Custom Classic.Stunning Mahogany& Birdseye Maple Grains& Black. Polished Nickel Hardware I love restoring antiques and making custom furniture works of art. I acquired this beautiful piece needing lots of a fine restoration. I restored it from top to bottom and customized it along the way. Perhaps you will love the stunning end result as much as I do. All of the drawers were fully restored and slide beautifully.I added the 2 carvings on the lower corners of the upper cabinet.The drawers are all dovetail construction as you would expect on a high quality piece.The stunning mahogany and birdseye maple grains were buried under a failed and very opaque original finish. Side panels and drawer fronts, the grain patterns and craftsmanship is stunning, I see tons of mahogany in my travels, it is hard to find more beautiful wood grains.
