1920's Maritime Nautical Neptune Oil Lamp Brass Ships Lantern
Vintage 1920's maritime brass oil burning ships lantern. I have not polished it but it seems to be in great condition. There is no corrosion to the brass and the glass sides and chimney have no chips or cracks and there is just a small dent on the top. It is missing the wick. Please look at pictures closely. Antique whale oil lamp lantern light onion globe silver plated BIG nautical
This incredible light is from an old Wellesley MA estate. It stands about 20" tall to the top of the fixed ring on the top of the heat cage. The globe is around 10" in diameter. The metal surfaces are silver plated and in need of polishing. The base has some denting as shown. The font is original but the burner is missing. The light was electrified at some point but it would be easy enough to remove those parts. A very rare light. Thanks for looking.

The picture of the lantern was borrowed from another dealer(with his permission) to show what the lantern that it came out of looked like. The Old Marine oil lamp is in mint condition. It is signed PERKO on the bottom of the lamp. The burner is signed Made in the USA and I think Miller but it is very hard to read. The rod going across the bottom Pick# 3 is to screw and lock the lamp in place in the lantern. The ends of the rod Pick#4 sticking out on either side are used to lock the lamp into the lantern. Antique Marine Nautical * Tin Oil Lantern * Lamp * Very Good!
Antique Nautical Marine Oil Lantern to start a new paragraph use- This is a great example of an antique marine oil lantern. It's one of the best ones I've seen. The main body ~ top/bottom is free of dents. The hanger and tie downs are intact. The wires or cage is there and in good condition. The glass is free of chips on the outside, has some of the little flea bite size around the rim on the bottom inside like they all do. And the bottom oil lamp part is there, the hinge works and it stays closed when you hold it up. I don't see a mark on the glass, but this looks like a Perkins lantern. At one time had a finish on it ~ I have left this, it does chip off if you care to totally remove it and just have that old zinc/tin look, but right now it has great patina! I have pretty much left it in"as found" condition, I wiped ... morethe glass off inside and out. It measures 8 3/4 inches tall with the top ring down and about 10 1/8 with it up. Offered for your consideration is this nice PAIR of kerosene oil lights. Made by the Marine-Division of the Artistic Brass and Bronze Works New York NY. Each light has a makers tag attached to the front of the base. Both lights look to be pretty complete with oil burner and chimneys still there. Sorry no wall mounting brackets. I am not sure if the wicks are still in them. The knob that raises and lowers the wick is very hard to turn on both lanterns. I think the wick mechanism needs to be cleaned. There is a very minor amount of corrosion on the tops of the bases. Each lantern measures about 18" tall to the top of the handle. Base measures about 7" across. Antique Wooden "Steam Boat" Oil Lamp
Greetings. This is a very old wooden oil Lamp with an elegant white etching of a Steam Boat trudging full speed ahead through the high seas. Steamboats's have been around since the late 1700's. They reached their peak in the mid 1800's and continued on through the 1920's or so. I do not know the exact age of this lantern but suspect mid-late 1900's and also suspect that it was used on the boat that is portrayed. I could not find another one like it. This lamp is made of a hard redish wood and is quite heavy, Maple is my guess. It's barrel shaped and measures 5 1/4" tall with a circumference of 15" The opening at the top of the base and the lining appear to be made of brass and would shine up nicely. There is a very small nick at the top that does not detract from the appearence at all but I want to be descriptive. ... moreThe over-all condition of this Lamp is wonferful and the etching is crisp and bright. The area where the wick is put is clean and not used or hardly used. It shows little to no signs of burning marks or anything of that nature. There is moderate tarnishing and marking of the brass on the outside but most of it is purely cosmetic. There is some oxidization here and there but nothing major. This lamp does not come with a handle but has the holes for one. In terms of keys for the keyholes or locks or anything.
