Maritime Navigational Lanterns.The main housing is constructed of galvanized iron and ... morethe top cover is copper. However they have not been shined up. The original manufacturer was Wilcox& Crittenden& Co. There trademark was Capital W with a Capital C embossed on top of one another. The factory was in Middletown, CONN. USA. There is a photo of the Logo which appears to be embossed on brass, it is on the side, located on top of a metal sleeve, which is riveted on the lantern itself. This sleeve must have been used to slip over something to hold it secure to the ship. Both sleeves are intact and extremely secure. This embossing is very difficult to capture in a photo as the glare, and clarity of a photo so close. The lanterns stand just shy of 13" tall with the hanging loop standing up. They are made to fit in a corner. The sides measure 5" With the front curving around to meet the 2 sides. The glass itself is 5" tall and is almost 90 degrees. One lantern has fresnel green glass for the starboard, and the lantern with the fresnel red glass is for the port. The glass on both lanterns is in very good shape and have no cracks or chips. The metal round accesses to the oil chambers/wicks are both present and appear tight when screwed in. The wick chambers need cleaning, but seem to work, and even have wick left in them! We didn't attempt to light them, but knowing something about oil lanterns, don't see any reason they wouldn't work, however this isn't a guarantee. just presenting things honestly. The metal. Nowhere, on either lantern shows any sign of rust. However they are a brown color. Paint appears to be old, in some places chipping, or peeling off. There are the usual signs of true usage. Wear and tear. Overall appear to be in very good shape. I have not checked them for leakage, however on inspection, I don't see any reason they would leak. I have no idea how old they are. Antique Vintage Boat Nautical Marine Oil lamps Port Starboard Green Red Ship
Up for auction are two antique nautical port/ starboard oil lamps. I have yet to see a pair exactly like this with smooth glass. Unfortunately i do not see any markings on them. The body's of the lamp appear to be galvanized but i could be wrong. The lenses of these lamps are in very nice shape with no visable cracks. One is green and one is red. These lamps appear complete minus the one is missing a part out of the bottom as seen in the picture. The only other issue is that the top of the one lamp has a dent and the top has some minor damage. Other then that they would make a great display piece. These are being sold as is. The previous owner of this light told me it came off a concordia yawl and it was the port masthead light. The mast was damaged back in the 70's by a storm and her grandfather took it down and was in the process of repairing it when he had a stroke and the project had to come to a stop. This is a very nice vintage USN navigation light. It has an older plug on it. It will hold 12 bulbs- 6 each light. There are 3 lights installed in each side of the lamp that are in it come on when plugged in(1 of the bulbs on either side may be burned out. It will hold 12 bulbs- 6 each light. This looks to be made out of solid bronze and/or brass. The red lens has a small scratch and one or 2 very small chips and the white/clear lens has a small chip. Vintage Port Classes II & III Brass Lantern With Red Lens-Electrified
Vintage Port Classes II& III Brass Ship's Lantern With Red Lens. Marked"Universal Metal Spinning& Stamping Co. New York" on the back and"Port Classes II& III" on the top front. Measures 14" to top of handle. Measures 10 1/2" to top of lamp. Not counting the handle, and is 7" in diameter. It has it's original red glass lens with 2 chips. Lantern has been electrified and has a cord with a switch on it, but the end has been cut off, so it will need to be rewired with a plug. Vintage Perko De-Lite Ship's Running Lamp - Port Starboard Combination
This is a vintage Perko De-Lite running lamp with red and green ribbed glass. It has a dividing plate between the port and starboard lenses. Inside there is a brass oil lantern- in very good condition- minimal interior rust- made by Simplex. It still has the wick- also in good condition. Behind the oil lantern there is a socket for a light bulb(6 or maybe 12 volt) The access doors are brass- the body is galvanized. The ring at the top does move easily- latches on doors also work great. Measurements approx. 5" wide x 5" deep x 9 1/2" tall- not including divider on the front or ring on top- just lamp itself. It weighs a little over 12 pounds. I'm not sure if it's copper or brass. It's also very LARGE. It measures about 13 1/2" tall, 13 3/4" wide and is approximately 9 1/2" deep from each corner to the back. It was a originally a kerosene or oil ship's lantern. It's an amazing light! It's in excellent working condition, it's been newly re-wired& has an antique switch in the front(converted to electric) The switch is turned to right each time you want to turn it off or no. It has a removable red port glass(see photos of it turned on, with and without the red glass) The clear glass has a small 1/2" chip in one of the ... moreribbed sections; it's a very heavy thick glass so this does not compromise anything. Near the top of the lamp there's an emblem that has the numbers"3883" There is also some etching on both the clear and red glass. I wonder if this belonged to a military ship. As most items on those ships were marked with serial#s etc. The writing on each glass piece says"DHJE 3883, No. 654, E.31.5.61" It's not very noticable and you can't see it unless you really look; it's not seen when the light is on. Condition wise.it's vintage! There are a few dings& dents. Some areas of wear etc.but considering it was a ship light, it's going to have a weathered old look, which I personally prefer. Vintage Bronze Tung Woo Hong Kong EK1390 PORT Ship Lantern Lamp Nautical
Vintage Tung Woo PORT Lantern I recovered this Tung Woo port-side lantern from a sunken pipe barge while working off the coast of Borneo in the South China Sea in 1971. From it’s configuration it appears to have always been an electric lantern. I used it with a small battery light for a little evening ambiance on the deck table. So no heat damage from using it with candles. From the number of mounting holes(see last photo) it had a long service use history before I salvaged it. My guess is early post WWII. It has a heavy clear glass lens with an internal removable curved glass red filter. It’s got dents. Dimples and a wonky corner, decades of stains from living outside but no gouges or deep scratches. Vintage Starboard Ship Kerosene Lantern Light Lamp Port Blue Glass Brass 21" BIG
Vintage ship's starboard lantern in a unique tri-plex shape. One of the largest I've seen at 21" from base to finial. 11" x 11" square with the typical curved front. Thick blue glass(not an interchangeable light filter) with horizontal grooves. Brass trim and a brass finial with hanging ring. Great"keyhole" vent holes throughout. Suffers from an untidy paint job and is in need of some updating. Missing original kerosene lamp and has been converted with a light socket. Needs new electrical cord. Brass has a lovely patina and there is still some vintage kerosene soot on the inside of this lamp. There is a small spot on the bottom by a switch of some sort that corrosion has eaten through the metal. But it's repairable and not endemic to the rest of the lantern. Glass is free of cracks or chips.

These are two ship lanterns my father-in-law had in is liquor store during the 1950's in Santa Barbara California that was close to the beach. They were old when he got them. They appear to be hand made. The height is 12 inches to the seam that is before the top. The height to the handle on top is approxmately 16" The front is 14 1/2 inches in circumference Each side is 9 1/2 inches across. It is 14 1/2 inches across the top. The red lantern weighs almost 12 pound and the other 9 pounds. They are dirty and the Blue lantern's glass has been broken and repaired. vintage starboard/port maritime ship lantern set PERKO?
Purchased on ebay many years ago. Each lantern measures ~12.5 in tall(to top of ring) and ~8in across(at widest measurement) They are vintage and weathered. I am not sure of maker or age. But they look similar to Perko lanterns. The"Starboard" and"Port" wording are mostly gone, weathered away. Then lens of each is is good shape. The port lens, red, has someVERY minor superficial scratches in a small area, but no chips, cracks or other flaws that I can see. The starboard lens, green, has a few areas of"pits" but no obvious cracks or chips. The bottom pieces and burners of each are missing, as per the picture of one. Paypal only. This is a very unique Maritime item. It's brass light with 4 sided glass. They had filaments of green and red. Port and Starboard are on the light. As you can see the colors had brittle. Rare Vintage NY & NJ Port Authority Red Lamp Light Beacon Nautical Airports
For auction is a rare Light/Lamp/Beacon. From the New York and New Jersey Port Authority. It's used but in great shape and DOES WORK! I tested it with a 6 volt battery, but its probably designed for a 9 or 12. I'm not sure what this was for exactly, but some kind of signal, possibly for a port, an airport, or one of the bridges/tunnels. It's all steel, and has a glass globe on top with a red plastic insert. It measures 8 inches long, 4 3/4 inches wide, and about 12 inches tall including the globe. It's made tough, weighing 8 pounds. It has a toggle switch on the top. It doesn't blink but does turn on steady. It's supposed to blink but there may be a wiring error or an issue with the relay. There is also some rust on the bottom of the battery box but no holes. These are obsolete and acquired legally. Set Of Vintage Ship's Port And Starboard Running Lights
This vintage set of unmarked running lights came from an old schooner 80 or so years ago. They are brass. Stand 10" tall, and have two 4 1/2" wide sides. The front side is curved and measures 8 1/4" One light has a red corrugated glass and the other has a blueish green corrugated glass. Each has a wall hanger- no brackets. They must have once burned oil, but the burner/fonts are missing. Each has an exhaust dome with a carrying ring on top.

Fresh out of a local estate is this wonderful Port Nautical Navigational Light. Truly a work of art and VINTAGE. According to the previous owner it came from Vero Beach. FL(but I can't prove that) Made in the US by Andrew Co. Chicago and appears to be 50+ years old. I was not able to find anything about the maker so no real way of dating it. Perfect for a Man Cave/Restaurant or your own channel marker. As you can see by the pictures there is a chunk of glass out of the top(clear part) but turned around you can't tell that. The red glass lamp in the inside is in perfect condition. The clear glass is in the design of light house glass so that it reflects. This is truly a piece of history and a great collectible for the nautical collector. It measures 33" tall and 15" across at the base. Weighs over 50# This was never an oil ... morelamp. Rare Vintage Copper Ship PORT LANTERN? Found in Straits of Mackinac
Up For Auction Antique Nautical Copper Port Lantern? The tag on this lantern looks like it says N.L. Piper Railway Co Toronto I am selling this lantern for an estate of a gentleman that found this lantern in the 1950's when diving in the Great Lakes- Straits of Mackinac. The heavy red glass does have a crack towards the bottom(see picture) There is also a hole in the base(see picture) I don't know if it's suppose to be there or it happen at the time it went down as a shipwreck in the Straits. I cannot take the top off(Not sure if it is suppose to come off) Please ask questions- Thanks Terry

This one weighs about 12 pounds. It measures about 12 inches tall and about 8 inches wide. The base mount is 5 3/4 inches wide and has four mount holes. The glass globe is 360 fresnel glass. The glass globe is in great condition. This light has been re-wired with all new Westinghouse Electric parts that are UL-Listed. The new electrical parts we install are rated to work with any voltage under 250 volts. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 75 watts or less. VINTAGE PAIR PERKO? PERKINS? BRASS MARINE LANTERNS PORT& STARBOARD From Ship? These 2 lanterns came from a gentleman's estate. He served in the military during WW2. I do not know the date. But after some research it is determined that these are Perko Perkins brand. Both are in pretty good shape despite being very old. Please see photos for condition.
