Tug Boat Ship Maritime Solid Brass Lighting Light Lamp Industrial 6 lbs Antique
I am an old gal who purchased this at an estate sale. The old fellow was the nephew of the tug boat owner that this light came off of. He couldn't remember now long ago but he said'decades' I looks on eBay for information and found it was made by Russell& Stoll Co. It is 10 1/2" over all the the wall/boat mount area is a circle that is 6" across the center. It is very heavy at 6 pounds without packageing materials/box. It is in 3 pieces. The case that screws in over the light globe. The glass globe which also screws in and the back that the globe and case both screw into. The glass globe reads in raised glass"P C. CO. and also has a number too that reads"9-S-4971-L" and the globe has no broken glass at all. It is thick and domed. The case is thick metal and embossed"2406B" and"R& ... moreS CO. and has no damage. There is a turn knob on the base that is embossed"R& S CO. N.Y. Don't know if this current wire will work or even if this is solid brass as it is so very dirty. As Is in case it is not brass. Maritime Tug Boat Ship Solid Brass Wall Industrial 6LB Antique 3pc Lighting Lamp
Overall this is 10 1/2" and the glass globe. Case and brass lamp do not show any damage. It is a wall mount and the round wall mount area is 6" across the center. The elder estate seller(100 miles north of NYC) said his Uncle lived in Brooklyn NY and owned a tug boat decades ago and this is from the old tug boat. It is very heavy weighing 6 pounds without packageing and box. It was very hard to read but the globe has letters and numbers that look like"9S4971-L" but not positive of the numbers as they are in lightly raised glass. The brasss cage or basket area has no breaks and it reads numbers that look like"24CGH" or something like that is raised brass. The case also reads"R&S CO. which stands for the Russell& Stoll co) There is no other writing anywhere on this 3 pc set so I have no idea how old ... morethis actually is but it is very industrial. It has an extended piece on the side but no knob to turn it on or off and it looks like it never had one and would have been wired and utilized with an on/off switch from the wall(just guessing on that) Thank you for your patience with me. 1920 or early 20s. Large copper tug boat Novalux projecter lights.These are huge!They are in original condition.They are copper with heavy gauge metal handles and brackets.The lights have amber lens.No cracks,or chips.This is the housing for the lights.Light assembly has been removed.Easy to retro fit with a modern light assembly.Lens are beautiful and measure 16 almost 17 inchs across.light body measures 56 inches around and 17 inches long,Longer if your including metal adjustment handle on bottom.The top above the lens has Raised or inbossed GE stamp.Stamp has GE logo in old type letters and has the stamped look.Lens is hinged and wrapped in copper?Has metal clips(big clips) that clamp down to hold the lens door closed.Big side handles that hold and adjust huge heavy metal mounting bracket.The back end bottom has the old lamp adjusting ... morehandle.The old sea patina is on these,they look bronze.They are really different and rare.I found one that was similar,it was a later 1929 model and was a building search light.It had a copper body that was not polished and they left the beautiful patina on.It was just the shell also.Thats all I could find on this Item,Nothing exact.More pictures will be posted upon request,I am not polishing the copper simply because of the amount of yrs its taken to get this beautiful patina.Small age dents,light lens scratching,and copper discoloration where the copper aged differently,normal wear and tare for its age.Total Steampunk! Vintage Crouse - Hinds Ship / Tug boat light Fresnel lens
Vintage Crouse-Hinds Ship/ Tug/ Barge light with Fresnel lens. This is a really nice used light. Inside is very nice. Reflector plate is spotless and the bulb socket is nice with no cracks or breaks. I have spent countless hours trying to get a history of this lamp with no success. I can't even find any pictures of this thing anywhere on the internet. I even found some old crouse- hinds catalogs with nothing on this lamp.The only place that I saw one a little alike was a history salvage place in Chicago. They sold that one but wouldn't say what the selling price was. Everything in that place was HIGH dollar. Lamp works nice. Takes a 300 watt VPS 30 bulb. I couldn't find one around the house so I bought a large 150 watt bulb and a socket extension to get the bulb to reach the reflector plate inside, works nice and bright. Has a ... moreFresnel lens with two small flaws. Check pictures, they show well. Two small chips about 1/4 long on several of the ridges.A slight bend in one of the ridges also, shows well in pictures, easy fix. Trying to be honest, they are there. Tag is nice and easy to read. This light was painted once with very little rust. Light is forged marked Crouse-Hinds Comp. Syracuse N.Y. USA and also HLP-1924. Has the old Crouse-Hinds logo forged into the cover plate. Light measures 27" tall with a diameter of 9" It is used, you could use it as is or restore this thing. When plugged in it covers a large area when shining. Need more pictures,let me know. Feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to get answers. If you know something of this light feel free to educate me. If this auction goes well I have one more on hand plus one for exterior parts. Ask questions, and I think he pictures also do a good job for a description. Tag has a catalog# 44602 FRO 918 B.
