The white stuff you see in the pictures is, I'm guessing is someone at one time, tried to use brass cleaner and did a bad job. I would personally leave them the way they are, but if you want to clean them up, they should shine like the sun. In order to use them. All you will have to do is add light bulbs and a power cord to the fixtures. It's easy, I gave you a demonstration in the pictures. Each lantern will be shipped seperate from each other and both units will be insured. Rare does not come cheap. I also will entertain Best Offers on these two extremely Rare Antique one of a kind lanterns. If you have q
We don't know how old these are but expect them to be well over 100 years. Solid copper and thick Fresnel glass they are marked W Neil- Port Glasgow. Matching pair each weighs around 19 pounds. Are 20" tall not counting the hangers, and 10" in diameter. These old oil maritime lanterns had been retrofit previously for 110V and probably hung as outdoor sconces. There was lots of outdoor type debris inside the lanterns that I just left and the 110V retrofit lighting has not been tested. One of the Fresnel lenses is cracked but intact(see pics) See the shipping section for your exact shipping cost. International customers are responsible for all customs fees. Thanks for bidding! This is a pair of antique kerosene-burning boat lanterns that were used on sailing ships and barges worldwide in the period 1850-1870. These specific items were manufactured by R.E. Dietz Co. 221 Wilkinson Street, Syracuse, New York. One glass lens is green, the other is red to mark the starboard and port sides of the vessel at night so that it was visible to other boats. The lanterns are made of black sheet metal, the lenses are solid glass, and they are 11" tall. The original kerosene burners and wicks are intact. There is a receptacle on the back of each lantern for hanging them on the ship or barge. These lanterns are in excellent condition for relics of this age. It is believed that these specific items were used on barges in the Erie Canal in New York state- but that may be only family lore. Even if you never dined at Skilligallees, these are truly VERY original lamps that would look great in any nautical themed environment! Each lamp stands between 38" and 40" tall X 14" to 16" wide. Pair Huge Brass Antique/Vtg Port/Starboard Navigation Lanterns-DURKEE-18" Tall Up for your consideration is a pair of huge brass antique or vintage ships port& starboard navigation lanterns by DURKEE. They measure approx. 11" W X 18" H-See images compared to 2 liter soda bottle. Both lanterns have their original light socket fixtures. However they were cut to be removed from the ship and one of the lanterns has an electric cord added, but easily removed with no modification of the lantern. There is a beautiful patina to the brass. I'm not sure how old they are, but probably 30's-40's. They are very heavy and well made. The mirrors attached to inside back of lantern are spotted from age, there are a few dings in the brass-see images. One is totally complete. The other is missing the two brass bands that hold ... morethe glass in. These bands appear simple to replicate and attach with small screws. Also the glass has a small chip on the inside of the glass. The screw in cap on top of one lantern is marked DURKEE MARINE PRODUCTS CORP STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. the other is not. Both glasses are marked DURKEE MARINE PROD and have bubbles in the glass. They both may be missing some sort of band around the top as there is discoloration there and some holes. These would be awesome restored and either used on a ship or decor for a man cave or nautically inspired room! It would be interesting to know what size ship these came off of as they are larger than any I saw in my searches. Please email with any questions or any knowledge you may have on these lanterns. I am going to ship these in several different packages with the glasses removed and protected extremely well. So due to the significant weight and the number of packages, the postage will be a little high. Thanks for looking and Blessings!

Pair 19 th Century Brass PERKO Ship Lanterns Lamp Antique Nautical Marine Large Here is another nice barn find; a pair of brass ship lanterns that I believe to be Perko. Although I could not find any markings. Use your own judgment. And look at the pictures carefully. They probably date back to the 1890s. The brass has been painted over with black paint. They both have been wired for electricity and don’t have their burners. Although their reflectors are present. They measure approximately 17” high to the top of the handle. And 7-1/4” wide. One lantern still has its mounting bracket. And the globe has a crack on the side(approx. 3” long) Also that cap on top is missing a small piece where it would attach to the lantern. The second lantern. The globe is good with no cracks, and the cap is also in good shape. It does not its mounting bracket. ... moreThe lamps should be rewired if you want to use them for electric. This auction is for a PAIR of MATCHING Starboard and Port LANTERNS. Awesome pair of vintage ship's lanterns manufactured in Japan by Nippon Sento and Company. They are completely intact and considering their age. In excellent condition. They haven't been altered or painted and have a gorgeous patina present. Heck, who am I kidding, they haven't been touched(dusted) in years. Yes, those are cobwebs you see in the photos! The hinged doors haven't been opened in probably 50 years so you can imagine my surprise while opening to take photos finding the original oil containers with the wicks still intact. All writing on both lanterns is in Japanese. I don't detect any breaks. Chips or cracks in the colored lenses or glass. These were purchased by my father while stationed in Japan in the 1960's and were'vintage' ... morewhen purchased. They are each 23" tall(from bottom of lantern to top of handle) and 10" side to side. Thank you for viewing and please feel free to ask any questions. If anyone can tell ME more about these lanterns. I would suggest shipping separately. But it is your call. They weigh 12 pounds each. I do NOT*pad* shipping fees. What you are charged is exactly what it costs.

Pair Antique Masthead Ship Lanterns Lights Interlochen Music Camp Russell&Watson Newly listed are this pair of rare. Stunning antique ship lanterns from the beginning of the Interlochen Music Camp/Arts Academy. These lanterns were hung from the trees around the"Bowl" the original performance center at the Music Camp in Interlochen, MI, which was established by Joseph E. Maddy in 1928. They hung in the audience space around the Bowl. And lit the walkway which adjoined the area, and were a part of Interlochen history from at least 1929(archival photos) to the 1980's. This is a great opportunity to own a piece of Interlochen history. These lanterns each measure 21" Tall and 12" Wide. The additional height of the hangers brings the total height to 27" high. The price listed is for the pair of matching lanterns. ... moreThe lanterns have ribbed vertical glass in them. Which has a light purple patina, which could have been originally clear glass that has changed color during the aging of the glass. The glass is in excellent vintage condition, with no cracks. The lamps were originally oil or kerosene lanterns. And later were converted to electric. One has the refurbished electric components at the top and the other at the bottom. The bottom of the lanterns have a sliding air vent mechanism. To adjust the air to the burning requirements of the lantern when fuel-fired. One of these slides freely, the other has dents which prohibit free movement. The lanterns do have dents, but still are in good condition for their age. Each of the lanterns have a door which opens on the rear of the lantern, to maintenance the light. The hangers are quite Arts& Crafts in design. The two listed have a nearly matte black finish or patina. Where the finish has worn on the bottom edge of one lantern. The marine brass can be seen. As shown in a photo of one of the actual lamps. They are very heavy, around 18 pounds each. We found very similar lanterns online which were nearly identical construction. Including the ri

Pair of Brass PERKO Ship Lanterns Lamp Antique Nautical Marine Large Here is another nice barn find; a pair of brass ship lanterns that I believe to be Perko. Although I could not find any markings. Use your own judgment. And look at the pictures carefully. They probably date back to the teens or 1920s. The brass has been painted over with black paint. For Sale is a very nice set of 2 original oil burning nautical. Maritime Navigational Lanterns. The main housing is constructed of galvanized iron and the top cover is copper. However they have not been shined up. The original manufacturer was Wilcox& Crittenden& Co. There trademark was Capital W with a Capital C embossed on top of one another. The factory was in Middletown, CONN. USA. There is a photo of the Logo which appears to be embossed on brass, it is on the side, located on top of a metal sleeve, which is riveted on the lantern itself. This sleeve must have been used to slip over something to hold it secure to the ship. Both sleeves are intact and extremely secure. This embossing is very difficult to capture in a photo as the glare, and clarity of a photo so close. The lanterns stand just shy of 13" tall with the hanging ... moreloop standing up. They are made to fit in a corner. The sides measure 5" With the front curving around to meet the 2 sides. The glass itself is 5" tall and is almost 90 degrees. One lantern has fresnel green glass for the starboard, and the lantern with the fresnel red glass is for the port. The glass on both lanterns is in very good shape and have no cracks or chips. The metal round accesses to the oil chambers/wicks are both present and appear tight when screwed in. The wick chambers need cleaning, but seem to work, and even have wick left in them! We didn't attempt to light them, but knowing something about oil lanterns, don't see any reason they wouldn't work, however this isn't a guarantee. just presenting things honestly. The metal. Nowhere, on either lantern shows any sign of rust. However they are a brown color. Paint appears to be old, in some places chipping, or peeling off. There are the usual signs of true usage. Wear and tear. Overall appear to be in very good shape. I have not checked them for leakage, however on inspection, I don't see any reason they would leak. I have no idea how old they are. Vintage pair of TUNG WOO Nautical/Maritime lamps TRAWLER MAST. Have not been converted to electrical or anything else. Purchased at Alameda Antique Fair in California 15 years ago and kept them just as they are. I was going to clean them up but I think best to leave alone. There are no cracks in the glass. Each one has small- very small dents at bottom. Took photo not sure if you can see in photo. Am willing to take more pics if you need. These are genuine TUNG WOO(Hong Kong) Nautical lamps. Looks good for their age. Would like to sell as a pair but would consider selling separate. Possibly someone seeking these for their vessel would be more of use than sitting in my home. These come from a non-smoking home and are zero odors to them. Have been very well taken care of with love. They somewhat heavy@ 32.6 oz each. I put a soup can next to ... moreso you can see the actual size. Almost 9" tall and 6" wide. If you have further questions please shoot me a message and I will get back to you ASAP. This is a large and impressive pair of fishing shack-fresh Perkins Marine Lanterns that date to the very early 1900s. Each carries a Perkins label at the base. While these are heavily oxidized. I think they are made of brass, or perhaps copper. I can see both a yellow and more copper brown peeking through. The lamps are large- 19&1/2" to the top of the handle- the lantern itself about 16" high. Both have white globes. Condition is as found and as shown. Please look at all photos to form your own opinion of quality and condition. First off, both are missing their burners. Each also has some cracks/breaks on the lips that hold the globes. One is missing a vertical bar that protects the glass. The globes have no breaks or cracks- one has a bit of a rough edge on one of the rims. All that being said, these have a fabulous authentic ... morelook to them and would be a fine addition to any collection. The patina is great as is, and pays homage to their years of use at sea. Good marine lanterns are getting harder to find, even in seacoast towns in the Boston area. This is your chance to own a rare pair of them. US ship only. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful PAIR of antique Perko boat/ maritime lanterns! They have a weighted base and swing on a gimbal mount. They are in excellent shape but could use a good cleaning and of course fuel and a new wick. English made" There is only one small ding on the rear of one(pictured) Unrestored original patina. The lanterns stand 9" tall with the glass globe. Original globes in very good shape. A great addition to any old maritime theme.
These Wilcox& Crittenden Marine lanterns have been converted to electric. Both lights work. Both have base of original kerosene container and only needs small burner/ wick insert to convert it back to the original state. see photo. Contact me for any questions. Both measure about 12" tall without carrying handle. 5 1/2" wide. All patina untouched. I have not cleaned either. That is for buyer should they want to. 7/8" hole on right side of each; probably for connection to something. Both have slot on back for mounting.
Not sure on metal. Great looking set! Sold as is. As pictured. Ask any questions before bidding/buying.
