This is a Vintage Lantern or Lamp. It is marked OAKFORD on the metal base. The glass is thick and red in color. It is marked 9S 3129 TYPE- O. It has a loop handle and wire cord(that has been cut from where it must have originally been attached to) It is heavy. I have seen something similar that were made for railroad trains and marine ships. Maybe this in another type used for either of those? I am not sure and you may know more than I about this item. It is older. Possibly from around the 1960's to 70's. It is in good condition, no rust but it has that used metal look and odor. The glass is solid, no cracks. The high level of craftsmanship in this lantern is amazing. It appears to be of solid brass with a wooden handle attached at the top. The only place that a magnet will stick to the metal is on the fitting that holds the wick. There are two rectangular glass windows. The hinged door is opened by pulling up on a slide loop. There are two round silver metal reflectors on the inside walls of the lantern. The footed base has a bolt and nut for attaching the lantern to a surface. The Round knob that adjusts the wick is marked Dressel and the number 0. I believe that this stands for the Dressel Lamp Works of Arlington New Jersey. Brass Lantern Maritime/Railroad Clock
Brass Lantern style Clock. With Thermometer, Barometer, and on the top a Compass, it has plastic lens covers and takes a batterie in the clock only, its approx 11" tall and around 5" in diameter,it weights 4lbs. 2 1/4 oz so its pretty heavy, I think it can sit on a table or be hung up by the brass ring on top.Its a really beatifull clock. Here is a beautiful. Nicely patinaed, oil lamp, made by Weem's& Platt. This lantern is numbered, early make, and came off a 68' Coranado sailboat that has sailed over seas and back many times. It's in excellent shape and can be polished if need be, however I don't suggest it. It comes with a gimbal mount for leveling the lamp while boating. It can also be mounted on the wall in your home and would look awesome! The lantern itself is selling for $200-250. The gimbal alone is $70-$90. Here it is, w/ a real cheap starting bid. Good luck!

Up for sale is a nice old WWII 1940's WEDGE brass railroad& railway train signal Lantern/a light RR regiment cargo signal lantern/ four sided brass cage type of lantern with 4 sided glass/ lantern has raised brass grating that surrounds& protects the outside of the lanterns glass/ top rounded brass smoke stack hood with a top brass& wooden handle/ lantern has a slide out removable kerosene oil fill tank with an adjustable wick/ name on oil tank reads WEDGE/ old coil spring type latch on door/ solid brass wirer grating type that covers& protects its glass well/ lantern is in very good shape overall& in very good working condition/ overal a really well made solid hand held lantern. Overall condition of lantern: NO DAMAGE/ Old brass lantern with old age brass patina along with some very minor issues of some oxidation ... morespots on it in a few small areas such as under its top hood located just around its top smoke stake area and a small little bit also around its top handle mounts. Overall its a pretty clean brass lantern/ Also I think these light oxidation areas will clean off nicely with a small tiny brass wirer brush or some very fine steel wool/ I left lantern alone and as is over the years with its old ageing patina/ the old wick turns up& down nicely/ The inside of this old lantern looks to be pretty clean and it does not appear to have much aging. Overall this old lantern looks to be very well made and very well kept over the years. Lantern has hardly NO visible lead solder on it only just a little bit around its door hinges and oil tank ring handle all welds on it are factory done/ Also the lantern looks to be mostly bolted together with little small brass factory screws and little brass nuts: such as bolted on its brass& wooden handle and its bolted on brass smoke stack hood covering and it has bolted on brass wire grating also. amazing antique vintage brass oil lantern. I dont know exactly the age of the piece but it is in really good shape. Metal with clear glass globe Ship or Railroad Kerosene Lantern. Canada 1921-1923 with numbers engraved on bottom. Adlake Kero engraved on the top. 10 by 6 inch lamp with a 4 inch high handle. Wick inside is intact as well as the wicks handle on the side. The bottoms wire like base is slightly bent. There is some rust throughout and a 1/2 inch long, 1/8 inch dent on the top. Very good condition overall.

This is a vintage heavy brass lantern with a wood handle. Don't know much about this as to what type of lantern it is. It appears that this was possibly converted at one time to an electric lamp or was always an electric lamp made to resemble a lantern. The front has a working hinged opening that lools like it held a glass lense at one time. An attached brass plate on the front shows a picture of a ship or riverboat and the name"LOUISIANE" underneath this ship. This measures 16 3/4" to the top of the handle. 12 1/2" tall not including handle, 9" deep on the side, 6" wide at the front(at the widest point) Nice patina without much tarnish. I've done some research& haven't found a lantern exactly like this one. WM Porter& Sons usually made brass railroad lanterns. But this appears to have a nautical look/ style. Antique 1893 Royal B and H Railroad Bronze Brass Oil Lamp Lantern 120 YRS OLD
Up for sale is an Antique Bronze Royal Lantern. It is also marked B& H on the fill cap. Which I assume is for the Railroad. There isn't a globe with this. Nor handles, but it does have several early 1890's Pat. No on the cap and around the rim. It is in good condition with some green corrosion around the bottom and small dents in the body. It has scratches and other usage marks. But I don't see any cracks or holes. The coil springs on the inside need to be reset when a new wick is put in place. It is empty and untested. Originally saved by my grandfather. This antique lantern was plucked out of storage in winter 2010. Features a red globe on the burner and clear outside lens. This lantern has a 6 1/2 x 6 inch handle. The lantern overall measures 19 inches tall by 7 inches wide and deep. It is marked with the word Elgin on the front and a stamp of No. 30. Made in the USA imprinted on the glass. Made by Sears during that period. Considering how much wear it has gone through the decades. This would be an awesome item for fans of maritime collectibles. You are bidding on a lantern. I really do not know if it is marine or railroad. It is unmarked but is very similar to a Perkins lantern. It measures approx. 10.5" tall including loop on the top and 8" across with lenses sticking out on sides. The measurements across the backside is 5.5" Has an unusual sliding pin latch closure. It is wired for electric. Lenses are green. Clear and red. As seen in photos, there are some scratches on lenses. Seems to be in pretty good cindition with no dents. Erie Canal Boat Headlight Lantern ? Railroad?
This is a very old oil lamp/ headlight lantern. It was discovered in an old barn on the banks of the original Erie Canal(construction started near this location in 1817. Several railroad lanterns of later vintage where also found. It has a rusty patina. The box has sliding glass panels on three sides that surround the oil lamp and parabolic reflector. One of these panels is broken. The lamp has cracks in the glass chimney. The chimney has"Crescent" and a logo etched in the glass. No other markings are on the lamp. The side wings are mirrors and are adjustable. The parabolic reflector is in excellent condition with no major flaws to the surface. It is removable. The lamp is 10 inch x 10 inch x 15 inch high. I am calling this a canal boat lamp only because of it's proximity to the old Erie Canal. And because it resembles pictures ... moreI have seen of other canal lights. This could also be railroad. The side has a slide plate for inside access. There is a small glass window on the back. The front flat glass is 5“ in diameter. It has some deposits on the inside. I do not know if it needs a kerosene holder or work with a candle. Neither are included. It is for display and non-operating. As always since 2001. Lantern Brass Railroad,Canal, Boat,Military Antique Gas Not Coleman Dietz French
Lantern measures 12" tall x 7 wide. Unknown use. I have not been able to find any information on this particular lantern. Looks to take gas. Has Red and Blue glass lenses. Brass with possible Nickle overlay. Lenses slide up and down. If you have any questions I'll try to answer thanks.

Antique 1870 s Nautical Ships Lamp tubular lantern Dietz railroad? lighthouse?
I do not know the maker of this lantern. It looks like a Dietz but no maker marks. I think its nautical. Lighthouse, railroad maybe, but it has a fresnal globe. It has been in my collection for 20 years or so. Super solid. It stands 20 inches tall and 8 inches wide at the base. 8 pounds. It is a Hot blast tubular no0 Signal lamp. It has the original burgundy Red paint with some of the original stenciling stating. Tubular Signal Lamp on one side top, on the other I think, No0. The paint is missing in spots throughout. Showing silver bare metal and surface rust. The right tube has one slight ding.the left tube is dented outside, at about 2/3 of the way up at the lamp, at about the shroud solder joint, The original tube solder is all intact and solid. The cage is original soldered with one loose solder. minor' Pitting is concentrated to ... morethe bell bottom. It is not a structural issue. There are minor dents at the bell bottom base front. It has a brass plate with the model and patent dates as pictured. The original globe has no chips. Cracks and is crystal clear with one bubble. The original smoke baffle is still inside the chimney section. It also states tubular marine signal lamp with may 28 186? jany 7 1868 under the font between the hot blast tubes. The font is in real nice condition.Missing the filler cap. The burner and wick function well.
