Both lanterns have their original thick heavy clear lens and these are in excellent condition. U.S. Navy World War II Masthead Brass Nautical Ship Light Must See!!
U. S. NAVY WW II MASTHEAD LIGHT This great light is waterproof and sported 6 x 15 volts for very bright lights. Why 6 you ask? Because the light was positioned on top of the mast. Making it hard to reach to replace a bulb during battle conditions, and if some burned out the others carried on! I have no idea how the bulbs were powered or how the wiring worked. You can take out the bulb sockets in the light and it has a pretty deep cavity to either place a battery or add your own lighting. I did not make any holes or try to adapt it for a more modern light. Just cleaned and Polished. Approximately 10 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches(the bottom measures up to 7 1/2 inches at the widest point) Weight 15 pounds. On May-05-13 at 14:28:17 PDT. Size: about 23cm diameter and 24 cm high. Looks to have seen it’s time at sea. It is a beautiful piece regardless. I have not removed any of the patina. It is original and untouched(except for the label which I polished a bit) I have taken lots of picture. Please review them and ask any questions. This is a very beautiful and rather rare model of stern light. It would be a nice addition to your décor or as an operational piece of vintage marine equipment on your boat. For your consideration is a very old Westinghouse Electronic MFG. Co. Floodlight. It is very heavy. It's on a stand and the light swivels up and down. A metal plate on the top front says that the watts are 200 and the Style is 1217420. There is a W on the top metal and also in the middle of the lens. I found one like this on Google and it is described as Vintage Nautical. Maritime Floodlight, Naval, Ship Light from around the 1940's. I know nothing about the history of the floodlight but would like to know more about it if anyone can tell me more. The cord is old and I did not test it. This item is large and heavy. I'm guessing it is cast iron and aluminum but not sure of the material. The covers are solid brass and the lenses read"Corning Made in USA 3DX3 F.S.O. on the inside. They both have the wiring and the bulb socket although one of them is squashed a little bit. One is missing a brass holding screw for the cover and the remaining screw is stripped out. They have an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers sticker on the back but you can barely make them out. Bronze brass navy ship mast light works
Antique bronze and brass navy mast light. Made by L.L.R. CO. Not sure what it stands for. Not sure what ship this came from from I'd say it's from the 40's or 50's. It has been 100% restored. I pulled the old wires out and wired it for normal household use. The bronze was very dark when I got this item so it has been sandblasted and has 2 clear coats to retain color. The brass rods were cleaned. All the lights on the inside have been replaced. The glass was also cleaned. Amazing piece! Stands 15" tall. The brass base is marked twice, once with a US and anchor Navy mark and the second being an overlapping USN and the number 129. The cage is marked 4594-L-7 with an R on the top of the cage. the glass is marked G. B. Inc Type H 2034- Inside there's no socket, but the holes to mount one are still in there in good shape, just need to drop one in there and go for it its about 10 1/2" from the bottom of the mounting bracket to the top of the cage. About 5 3/4" from edge to edge on the mounting bracket. The mounting holes are about 1/2" in diameter. I'm no lighting expert. Up for sale is a Antique Bronze Brass Navy Battleship Ship Pilothouse Blackout Lamp Light Lantern. This item is in good condition for its age and is fully working. It is very heavy and made of thick bronze and brass. It runs on 110v and takes a standard bulb. The bulb is not included. We left all of the original patina on it but it would polish up to a mirror finish. We were told they used these in navy battleship pilothouses but we don't know for sure. This auction is for an old weighted desk lamp. Battleship gray color. This lamp was purchased years ago from the estate of an Officer of the US Navy. The lamp is heavy and weighs over nine pounds. The light is adjustable and the shade and the frame is movable. There are chips in the finish. The light works but the old cord is in bad shape and should be replaced.
