Vintage Antique Ship Lanterns 1900's Brass Ships Gimbaled Oil Lanterns Rare
You are bidding on a pair of very rare. Brass gimbaled oil lanterns which were manufactured in the early 1900's for use in finer staterooms. These are beautiful and hard to find in this condition. However, when I was taking pictures, I unfortunately broke one of the green glass shades. I have tried to find another shade, but have been unable to do so. I have been able to find many antique restoration companies, one of which I have spoken to in great detail about the broken shade. He assures me that he can restore the shade to its former glory with very faint visibility. If the break is turned to the back of the lantern, it will be invisible to the eye. I will be glad to send the shade myself, or if the winning bidder would like to find their own restoration specialist, I will provide the pieces carefully wrapped. There are only three ... morebroken pieces and they fit together perfectly. These lamps were manufactured by C. Gray Ship Chandlers Established 1882 Arbroyath. Scotland and the brass nameplate is attached to the front of each lantern with that information. The lamp bodies are very heavy brass and are fully gimbaled. These are self-leveling lamps for use on the high seas. The wall brackets have a fleur-di-lis type decorative look. The burners are original with a double wick. The knobs are stamped"John Scott Made In England" The last two pictures show small cracks at the top of each body. These appear to be caused by age. The lamps have not been polished because I personally find them more beautiful in their aged condition. The clear glass chimneys are both in perfect condition with no flaws of any kind. The one shade is also perfect with no flaws. The second shade was discussed above. The brass body measures approximately 17" from bottom to the top of the oil burner and is approximately 10" in width at its widest point. Rare Antique Miller Brass Binnacle Hand Oil Lamp w Eisinglass Front
This auction is for a very rare Miller brass binnacle hand lamp. The bottom removes with an oil lamp base with a simplex wick holder. It is signed E Miller Company made in USA and has a brand new wick. The oil lamp locks into the base. It has vent holes at the bottom and the top. It has a wood carrying handle and an Eisinglass/ isinglass front that is still intact. The lamp measures 8 ¼ inches with the handle up and 7 inches with the handle down and measures 2 ¾ inches in diameter. A ships binnacle lamp has no steel anywhere in it. It is made of all brass so that it would not interfere with the ships compass. This is a very rare piece, don't miss this opportunity to add this to your collection. Rare Antique Perko Tri Brass Color Navigation Light Lantern Lamp w/Dietz Burner

This auction is for a rare and unique maritime lantern made by Perko with its original Dietz burner. It measures 8-1/2 inches tall. Is 5 inches wide across the back, 3 inches wide across the front, and is 4-3/8 inches deep. It has a flat back so that it can be mounted on a wall. It has one flaw, the latch for the door in back is broken. It is otherwise in excellent condition with no significant cracks, dents or breaks. This is a pretty amazing find. This ANTIQUE BRASS CANDLE LAMP HER MAJESTY’S ADMIRALTY SERVICE is believed to be from the early 1900’s or possibly even from the late 1800’s. There are plenty of pics to help you understand this item. The emblem soldered on the front says“ H M ADMIRALTY SERVICE. The bulbous bottom part unscrews to reveal a large spring. That is removed. A candle is inserted, and the spring& bottom are re-installed to continuously place upward pressure on the candle. That way, as the candle burns down it is continuously being pushed up. There is an old looking candle stub still in the top in the normal use position, we left it in place. You will notice a permanently attached bracket for hanging on a cabin wall or bulkhead on a ship. The candle lamp has a great old brass patina. You will notice solder at various places. Some ... moreappears to be from the original making of the lamp and a couple might be repairs or just sloppiness by the maker. None of the brass looks like it has been damaged. The lantern is in amazing shape for it’s age. The bottom is flat enough that the lantern can be used sitting on desk, table, or counter. There apparently was once a glass chimney but we never saw it. I would imagine the new owner could find one to fit if desired. We have never seen another one of these in 20 plus years of buying& marketing antiques& collectibles. I have a pair of rare vintage brass Perko marine ship's lamps or lanterns. They used to be kerosene or oil but were converted to electric. They are in wonderful shape with no dents or damage and everything is intact. they do however have wear that is consistent with age. Each lantern has a finger lamp inside that is removable as shown in the pictures. A 4 inch reflector/ mirror, and 3 glass panels. Each is also stamped with a brass tag that reads" PERKO Manufacturer's Reg. Trademark Perkin's Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. Miami Florida USA" on the front and another stamp on the back that reads the same thing. They both measure almost 14" tall. one being about 1/4" taller than the other one. This auction is for an antique lantern. Made by J Vogels& ... moreBoon of Nassau, Anvers which is in Belgium. A small tag is on the top of it with the name of the company, and the top also has a serial number on it. This is probably a marine lamp, originally made of copper and brass and painted black on the outside. This has a heavy glass Fresnel lens that goes all the way around the source of light inside, which is currently an electrical light bulb, which we believe was a later addition to this piece. The electrical cord has been cut and tied in a knot, so it would need to be rewired, or you can easily remove the socket. The swing handle is made of heavy wrought iron. This lantern, which stands approx. 11.25" tall and 7.5" in diameter, has been put to work in its past, and shows scars of close encounters with various dings and bends. This would be a great candidate for cleaning and restoration, but we couldn't find any other examples of this particular lamp, so we are calling this rare. Good Luck! RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN MARITIME NAUTICAL COPPER RIVET
Up for sale is RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN. This is such a great find because as just stated it is UNMODIFIED. Meaning it has NOT been converted over to electric. This lamp features a brass body with handmade copper rivets. All the hardware(rivets. Hinges, hasps, etc) appear to be hand made/forged. The ANCHOR brass label is applied on the top section which opens to expose the burner. The hook and chain to secure the hinged top are still intact. There is also a hinged top cap for flame inspection. When you open the top cap you will see that the chimney is triple insulated. It has a Frenzel type lens which appears to be old and original glass. The oil tank and burner assembly fits snug inside the lantern. Upon removal of the burner assembly from the oil tank. The wick is new and the inside of the oil tank has no residue ... moreor oil smell, suggesting it has to have been either cleaned very thoroughly(with several areas inside the tank unreachable) or possibly never used! Even though it seems to be the latter of the two options we still say possibly due to now documentation or provenance on the lantern beyond the current owner. This lack of evidence of use is consistent with inside of the metal chimney where no obvious traces of soot can be found. The base has aspiration vents all around it. The burner's wick knob has the words"SHERWOODS LTD. B'HAM MADE IN ENGLAND" on it. Making this from the very early 1900s at the latest from what we can find on the company. We have no reason to believe that this burner insert is anything but original to the lantern. Meaning we believe the lantern to be from the same time period. If anyone knows any different please share with us. In use this lamp would have been hauled up the ship's mast with halyards. To secure it as such. The lamp is equipped with substantial brass bail handles on the top and bottom. These are attached to heavy cast brass brackets riveted to the body of the lamp. This is a beautiful copper and brass kerosine anchor light with a nice aged patina. It is in is in excellent condition. There are no dents. Cracks or missing parts. All parts are made with heavy gauge copper and brass. The lens is thick heavy glass. You can see some small air bubbles inside the glass) This is truly a quality lamp that will last for many years. VERY RARE ANTIQUE JAPANESE NIPPON SENTO NAUTICAL SHIP BRASS LANTERN SIGNAL LAMP
For sale is an Antique Japanese Nippon Sento Co. Ltd. Ships Brass Oil Signal Lamp Lantern. This is a very rare lantern I have never seen another one like it listed on Ebay. The lamp is in excellent condition as evident by the photos. It has a very nice patina on the outside and looks great as is. Or can easily be polished for a brilliant shine. The lamp has a wooden handle, and on the left side of the lamp is a thumb toggle switch that opens and closes an aperture behind the lens that allows the light to have the appearance of turning on and off. I'm no expert, but I believe the lamp was designed for semaphore which is a method of using light to visually communicate with another ship, or from ship to shore, and vice a versa. The toggle switch works smoothly, and the door opens and closes freely. Please closely review all of the photos ... morefor the material condition of the lamp. The lamp has the original oil/kerosene pot, but it is missing the glass chimney and possibly a reflector that may have fit in the small rectangular slot at the end of the pot. A replacement glass chimney can be easily found online. The lantern measures approximately 20" inches from the top of the handle to the base, and it is approximately 10 1/2" inches wide. Rare 1920's original 8" fog bell lamp marked on inside of bell. PERKO, Perkins M.S. Co. Bklyn, N.Y. 07-61" Since I couldn't find a similar Perko fog-bell-lamp form anywhere, I contacted the Perko Marine Lamp Corp in Miami Florida with photos of the lamp. They said that this was originally manufactured by Perkins in this lamp-form and that it is not a custom piece made outside the factory by an individual. In their library they found only a 1920 and a 1932 catalog. In the 1920 catalog, they found a lamp that had similar fittings. I believe the markings inside the bell date this lamp to sometime between 1922 when the"PERKO" trademark was created and 1932 when the company name was changed to Perko Marine Lamp and Hardware Corp. It has a well-aged patina. Height from bottom of base to top of eagle finial is 20" ... moreDiameter of bell is 8" Bell has a wonderful resonant. Distinctive fog bell sound. Lamp is in good working order. Not sure if the wiring has been changed at all- the electrical plug is the old-style with prongs of even width. Large, Rare Antique Brass Perkins Ship Lantern, BLUE GLASS
My father purchased this ship lantern in 1964 at moss point Mississippi.It came from one of the ships in the National Defense Reserve(Ghost Fleet) that was anchored in Blakeley River. AL. It's in good shape with a few signs of age and wear. The glass does have a small ship in it. Its condition is further detailed in the photographs. You can see the holes in the container, under the lid~and the lid self latches, and cannot be removed unless it is ligned up. Possibly for lanterns. Antique WWII Marine Copper Brass Ship Light Stem Punk STILL WORKS! Very Cool Marine Light. Glass is etched C.B. Ltd 1943 and A.P.5619 on the other side. I believe this light was originally a navigation light because to the treaded connector where the plug wire comes out. I believe it used to have a pole attached. The glass is cracked directly down the middle but the glass is not shattered. Light could be plugged into wall or restored to direct wiring as a sconce or perfect for your stem punt light project. Threaded connector is 1/2 inch from inside wall to inside wall. Height: 4.5 inch. Width 3 3/8 inch.

RARE 1900'S ANTIQUE NAUTICAL- BOAT SIGNAL LANTERN - BRASS - ZINC- OIL BURNING
For your bidding is a Rare P and A Mfg. Antique Nautical Boat Signal Lantern with Brass Oil Burner. Font Lighting Popular in the 1900's to communicate to other ships. Or ship to shore before Marconi was invented and used. This beautiful lamp was given to me by my Aunt when I was a child. Both my Aunt and Uncle were avid collectors of memorabilia from Great Lakes Ships and Freighters. Often they would buy the inside remains of a ship when it was to be scrapped. Removing steering wheels. Telegraphs, chad burns, lanterns, name plates, ship wheels, compasses, steam whistles, you name it. Anything that had value to be saved later and become collectible. I have no doubt this piece came off a ship. I just do not know which one. This is a beautiful piece. Which I feel is museum quality, and should belong to a serious collector. That is why I'am ... morelisting it. It is in Very Good condition for its age. Era and vintage. There is some slight wear which is understandable for a piece this old. I have not polished the Brass in years. There are no dents. Or dings on the piece, a few minor spots of rust, on the inside signal shutter, behind the lens, which I'm sure would clean up with little effort. The 3" glass lens is flawless, with no scratches, cracks, or chips. The door opens. And closes as does the spring signal shutter. The belt clip is complete, along with the two adjustable carrying handles. Inside you will find the original burner. And wick. The top unscrews to fill it with lamp oil and it is adjustable for brightness. This does have Boat Signal Lantern stamped above the hinged door. Perko is NOT the only company who made these lanterns. The only markings on this one are on the burner wick adjustment which says P and A Mfg. Waterbury Conn, Usa. Which stands for Plume and Atwood Manufacturing. The company was established in 1869.
