Large Vellum Medieval Manuscript Missal Leaf w/ Two Drawn Head Profiles!
This auction is for a very rare and attractive medieval manuscript vellum Missal leaf. Italy, Latin text in a gothic script, ca. 1480. There are four large initials with extending red or blue penwork. There are also several small blue/red initials also with extending blue/red penwork. Notice the two small hand-drawn human head profiles in the margins- definitely adds character to the leaf! This leaf measures approx. 14 x 10 inches and is in great condition.
