Medieval Illuminated Manuscript Bible Vellum Latin Plainsong Apostl James 1450's Up for auction is a very neat old Illuminated plainsong manuscript. It is written in a Dead Latin Langauge but at one time I had it partly translated but I forgot what it said. I know not very bright on my part. But I do remember that it is a plainsong about the apostle James. It is hand done on vellum. It is 2 sided the front is the begining of the song and the back is the end. It is framed in heavy glass on both sides there are 2 screws with just and old cord hooked on it to hang it from but it works. Pages are about 24 by 17. Because of the weight and size of this shipping will be around $30 to $40 depending on where you live.

Offering a leaf from a Medieval Antiphoner or Choir Missal. Spain, circa late sixteenth to early seventeenth century, in Latin on extremely heavy vellum(approximately 550x385mm, or 21-1/2x15-1/4 inches) Text is in a Spanish rounded gothic hand(Rotunda) Music consists of five staves formed of five lines. On the fifth line of music there is a wonderful initial"B" in red ink on a rectangular ground of brown penwork. This Antiphon is dedicated to St. Didacus. Confessor, a Spanish Dominican of the sixteenth century; notes as a theologian, philosopher, and astronomer; who died in 1560. His feast is celebrated on November 12.
