Antique Victorian wicker doll baby buggy or pram. The buggy is in very good condition. The wicker is intact along with the pie shaped celluloid windows on each side of the buggy. It measures 29 inches long, 13 1/2 inches wide and 30 inches tall. The inside of the buggy measures 9 inches wide and 20 1/2 inches long. The brake mechanism is in working order. It has a steel frame, steel springs, a wooden handle, and steel foot brake. Also a reclining back. The rubber on the wheels has oxidized and is very hard. The rubber on one of wheel has broken off. But certainly very good. I can find no holes in the wicker, but there are some very small spots of worn or chipped paint(does not appear to be re-painted) and I can see a small section(1/2 inch) of missing braided trim on the footrest(check photo close-up) Top works well, wheels turn well, and it seems to be quite sturdy all around. Looks like the interior lining is missing(as seen in first pic) but these can be easily re-lined by an experienced doll collector/restorer. Nice size, as it is not too large for storing and perfect for displaying a seated doll. This is a fabulous vintage doll buggy. IT is made of wood. Wicker and canvas with scrolled metal frame and wheels. It is in great condition. The wicker sides have a butterfly pattern. The inside of the buggy is made of a black canvas as is the hood. The buggy stands approx. 11" high and it is 10" from the end of the handle to the back of the hood. The bed of the buggy is 3" deep and 6" wide. The wheels are in excellent working condition. The buggy has no tears or cracks visible. PRAM BABBY BUGGY-Vintage Wilson Silver Cross English - NICE !!
This PRAM SILVERCROSS baby buggy is in great shape for its age. I believe it was made in the 1950s. And has the white with pink flowers on the sides. It has all of the original parts as well as the front matching maroon accessory bag to the top that few of them out there have. Sides are like new, from has a few small dents and there is some of the paint worn off the suspension. See pics. BUGGY TOP Fabric is soft and color is great but the corner hinges when the top comes down have worn through in a few places. See pics. Not sure how well the brakes work but the mechanism is all there. Tires have good amount of tread but the rubber looks to be drying out some. We just found this 140 year old Vintage Antique Victorian Baby Stroller. It is all here and it all works well. It is fully collapsible with springs and all and all original brackets and hardware is here, not much rust at all anywhere on the buggy. We bought this stroller with a Kestner German Doll inside from a large Estate Sale in Beverly Hills. It has been in that location for over 60 years kept inside with the doll. It appears to have the original pillow and cushion but so hard for me to tell, for sure from that age and in great condition for the age. This is a very rare item in this condition. I have never seen anything like this-bought this with a lot of other antiques recently and then the lady told us that when she had purchased it back about 40 years ago the dealer she bought it from told her it had come from the David Whitney home. I had to admit I did not know the name and when we got it home I have been researching this piece and it turns out that the Whitney this was to have come from had a huge mansion constructed back in late 1800-early 1900's that took years to build. you can look up the internet history on him as I did. Antique Silver Cross baby carriage from Best& Co. New York. Manufactured in England. Very good condition for age. Has air-ride suspension. Two of the leather straps supporting carriage broke while I was putting the carriage back together so I used bungee cords to demonstrate how it is supposed to be(see photo) I do have the original strap and if taken to a shoemaker most likely can be repaired or they can make a new one. Large Antique Silver Cross Pram Baby Stroller Carriage Buggy, Earth Brown, 1950s
Up for sale. A large antique Silver Cross Pram Baby Stroller- Carriage- Buggy. Stroller is earth brown color, made during the 1950s in Birmingham, England. The metal baby carrier can be removed off the chrome chassis. The bedding can be propped up. This is a very nice stroller. This stroller is a full size. It measures roughly 46" tall x 45" long with the handles open x 24" wide, from wheel to wheel. I don't know if the white bedding is original or not. Condition: Wear is expected of a baby carriage this old. Below I've listed everything that I see on the pram. 1) There are no tears or rips in the fabric. It looks very good. 2) On the fabric that covers the bed area. Which comes off, liguid was spilled on one area. 3) The rubber wheels and the break pad show the most wear. They are cracked and dry. 4) One of the two ... morebreak pads is missing. 5) On all four sides of the metal carrier there are a few scratches. Noticable on close inspection. 6) The chrome chassis looks good with m inimal surface rust. Except around the spokes area on the wheels. 7) T he ribbed black handle has a little white mark. Removable with the right cleaner. 8) The metal logo on the front side has part of it loose and disconnected from the rest of the logo. Seen in the 4th photo. The logo looks intact. If left alone, the logo stays intact, but if you move the last 1/2" smaller right part of the logo, it moves, which could be super glued to keep it stayed together. Shipping note: Local pick up is available in the Washington DC area. Stroller is large and heavy. I'll mail the stroller in two boxes. The shipping cost will include insurance and tracking info. I could ship this via Greyhound. The cost would be less, but there is no insurance for it, and it would be transfered from bus to bus across country. Antique Wicker Baby Carriage Buggy Pram~Converts to Stroller~WOW!
You are bidding on an AWESOME estate find in this antique wicker baby carriage. Full size.not for dolls) As you can see in the pictures. It converts to a stroller, both flat and with head elevated and dropped footrest. Although not without some flaws. It is in amazing condition for its age! I find no broken wicker. The wheels and fenders give it a real"Cadillac Elegance" look. The wheels are 7 1/2" diameter and have the original Westland rubber tires. The wheels HAVE been painted on the outside surface, but this is the only"restoration" I find. The wooden surfaces had all been originally painted yellow, and this paint is flakiing off.A LOT! The steel handle easily disconnects from the buggy for storage. And is rubber-coated across the top. The hood also easily disconnects. The steel undercarriage is also painted yelllow. ... moreAnd also flaking off. Two wheels have the original leather strap connection, one has NO connection, and the other is held together with twine. The worst flaw I find is that there is a wooden support bar across the hood. And this is broken. It lies between the wicker and the plastic lining, so to repair it would require removing the lining. You can't see it, and it does not alter the look of the buggy except for where the lining is drooping somewhat in that area where it was attched to the bar. The steel hub caps and fenders have suffered some corrosion over the years. Some places worse than others. As can be seen in the 10th picture. There is an expandable pouch at the foot of the buggy for storage(diapers, bottles, etc. The rest of the pictures show the underside. This comes with the original straw-filled mattress. And original ticking, although I doubt you would want to use it for a baby! One side is in fine shape. The other side has a hole in the tickiing, and also shows staining. Mattress measures 26" x 14" Measurements are: 36" from front to back; hood measures 18" wide. Height is 32" to top of hood. I am not an antique dealer. But I have

Judging by the style and features, it dates to the 1850's or 60's. Features two upholstered seats that face the middle- possibly built for a family with twins or two babies near the same age(Irish twins, they always called us) The huge wooden wheels still have their metal covering, and the carriage moves beautifully. Here is a beautiful antique primitive 1800s wicker and metal baby carriage. Buggy or pram. Measuring 44" long, 36" high and 18" wide, condition is excellent considering the age, with normal age patina on the metal, and typical aging of the rubber on the wheels. The wicker appears to be in remarkably wonderful shape with no holes or other visible issues. There are remnants of a sticker on the bottom which may have identified the manufacturer; however nothing really remains of any use in identifying the maker. Please e-mail any questions. This buggy is from the 1960's and was purchased originally by a family friend who had the-best-of-the-best. She claimed it was the same kind that Queen Elizabeth strolled her babies in and gave me some info on it although I can not see any other tags or labels verifying its brand. Is it a Silver Cross? I don't know. It is in excellent condition however! We had it stored with a dust cover over it inside and it appears she stored it inside as well. It does fold up a bit.
