The carriage body with its fanciful curvy lines is constructed of woven wicker with a turned wood handle. Everything else is metal. The metal wheels with hard rubber rims work quite smoothly. There is also a parasol holder with a screw to hold it in place. Dimensions are about 40" long for the carriage with the foot rest extended and 36” with the foot rest folded back x 19" wide carriage and 24” wheel to wheel width x 36-3/4" tall(including handle) All four wheels have a diameter is 14” It weighs about 30 pounds. This buggy is in original condition with the exception of the newer upholstered side cushions. Those cushions need some attention as they are a bit loose fitting. The wicker is quite good with only a few broken reeds in the woven bottom seat along with some minor surface soiling. A slight warp to the foot rest can be seen in the photo above. Please check all photos carefully. And let me know if you want more. There is also surface oxidation and rust on the metal parts and paint loss on the handle. Measures 32" long x 16" wide x 29" tall This carriage is made of brown woven wicker. There are some areas where the pieces are broken. It has a steel frame with a wooden handle that has a lot of rust due to it's age. There is rubber on the steel rimmed wooden spoke wheels, the rubber has a lot of wear. The top of the carriage has 2 small round windows with lace covering. The inside of the carriage is very clean. There is a board on the bottom lined with cream colored linen with attached eyelet. There is a patchwork quilt that measures 25" x 22" in good condition. There is a small pillow with pillowcase that measures 9" x 5 1/2" in good condition. The actual pillow ... morehas stains on it. What a great find! We came across this fabulous early baby doll buggy with an ornate wooden handle. Sun shade canopy functions perfectly and flips from front to back easily. Wheels are intact and roll along as they should. The frame is metal. There is some paint wear on the handle- see pictures 8& 9. Let's talk about the wicker. Overall the wicker is in very good condition. There ARE spots where the wicker has torn.see pictures 6& 7. There are some loose ends also in the sun shade canopy.see last photo. Lastly it appears as if at some point in time a craftsman has made some mends as we notice a color differential in some parts of the buggy. The body of the bunny head is very heavy and I believe to be carved wood. The material inside the buggie must be cotton. But it has a stiffer feel. The fabric has some light staining, but there are no tears or holes. The lace is all in one piece with no rips or tears. Measures 24" long from the tip of the nose to the handle. Measures 21 1/2" high from the floor to the top of the handle. The body of the buggie measures 9" wide. The wood handle measures 9" wide. A very nice woman recently reached out to me with this information about the carriage. Has been used for the last 20 years as a doll display in an antique shop. Cast iron frame with brake. Metal and wood push handle. The cardboard bottom piece is deteriorating. Back right side wheels has been repaired& is missing 1 spoke. Adjustable top and the foot board has a spring loaded rod that allows it to be laid flat. Custom handmade cushion and canopy liner. This stroller is functional. It rolls easily but does bounce& wobble. I prefer local pick-up due to age and weight. The wicker weave has loosened up a bit and may need to be re-attached at edges, rubber wheels have a few cracks, the curved area where the child's feet rest is coming loose, you can see the nails up above where it was attached to, and may need to be re-attached. I will be removing the handle for shipping and my husband said that the bolts will probably break when I remove them, so be aware that those 4 bolts may not be original, I don't know yet. What a pleasure it is to offer this authentic Baby Doll Stroller with it's original factory stamped number(F418) all original paint and the original SOUTH BEND TOY COMPANY sticker still intact. There is a canopy but it looks too large for this stroller. But it is an original stroller canopy with all the original period hardware. Unless the wood has swelled out it's not for this stroller but comes with it in this auction just in case! Appears to be original paint. 65% of original factory sticker still there. Up for auction is this wonderful antique Victorian wicker baby doll carriage. It measures about 25" long by 24" tall and is 12" wide. It is in pretty good condition for it's age and would display beautifully! The celluloid window is missing and the rubber on one wheel is worn but the wicker is intact. Antique Black Wicker Baby Doll Stroller Carriage Buggy. Steel Wheels& Frame Stroller measures approximately 35"H x 15"W x 32"L. It is tagged Travers Manufacturing Co. The stroller is made of wicker with a metal frame. Wheels and attachments. There is some general wear from use. The wicker is in good shape and the metal shows no signs of having been bent. The cloth is discolored from age and has pulled from the wicker in a couple of places. The brakes lock good and work as they should(see pic) There is a matching cushion for the base that I have not pictured. But is included. I do not have it with me at this time. Welcome- This as an antique Wicker Baby Doll Buggy Stroller- Metal Frame- Half Circle Ports. In very good condition. It has a i ron frame with a wooden handle. The only defect that I would note is on back left bottom. The wicker braid is coming apart, not bad at all. Also, one wheel spoke was replaced. It does roll fairly easily.
