It has rolled sides and so me scrolls. It is in as-found condition and could use a bit of restoration or you could leave it just as is and it would make a wonderful display stroller for old bisque dolls or old teddy bears. Could use some glue on the back rest but the wicker itself is in remarkable condition considering how old it is and having n e ver been painted. The cushions are old and filled with excelsior. Obvioiusly. This old buggy is not perfect so please buy it as shown. It is really quite impressive in person and quite large. Rough measurements are about 45" long. 20" wide, 35" to top of handle. The back wheels are a big 22" in diame ter and the front wheels are 14" The wheels roll freely and smoothly. I believe it was recover just before I purchased at an antique shop. This is the real deal. Wood and metal wheels and Iron curled shock system. I was told it was originally made for twins. The cover is reversible from side to side with the original securing fasteners. Sadly. I no longer have the room for this item. The new owner can keep the dated cover and bedding(vintage embroidery) or have it restored to pristine condition. There are a few stains on the cover that show its age, but it is a wonderful piece! I used this buggy with my last two children. There are no tags.The wicker. is in great condition and all the mechanical pieces work good brakes, bed recliner, etc. There is a neat hidden compartment under the mattress on the inside of the carriage and the sliding door on it looks to be original as well. The handle is wooden and the wheels are all in tact and move freely there is no rush sorry to say it's missing the hood but otherwise everything is in great working condition nice condition for it's age. The wicker weave has loosened up a bit and may need to be re-attached at edges, rubber wheels have a few cracks, the curved area where the child's feet rest is coming loose, you can see the nails up above where it was attached to, and may need to be re-attached. I will be removing the handle for shipping and my husband said that the bolts will probably break when I remove them, so be aware that those 4 bolts may not be original, I don't know yet. This darling features a window on either side where the baby slept. It's tiny by today's standards, or from the baby prams just 40 years later. In England this would have been called a'perambulator. That's history for today. I created the cushion and little pillow. To go with the original color of the exterior. Unknown if these were lined, or their were bumpers like we use today. It makes a most interesting magazine rack, cushion holder, or towel keeper. Just years ago an item like this retailed for $900, due to their rarity and condition. Add nostalgia to your decorating. This auction is for a Victorian. Wicker baby carriage. It measures 44" long from handle to the back of the carriage. It stands 40 1/2" tall. It is 16 1/2" wide. The tires are 12" across. The parasol moves so you can place directly over carriage or to the side. Wicker is in great condition but the right front wheel could use a little tweaking. This is a perfect cabinet size which is soooo rare. Measurements for the carriage are 12" long X 6" wide X 11 1/2" tall. This listing also includes this sweet little German bisque head doll on a composition body and her antique bottle. The bisque German doll is 6 1/2" tall with beautiful blue open sleep eyes. Hi. This is an all original(Not restored) Heywood Baby Carriage from the 1800's. It is Wicker with its original canvas convertible top. IT IS VERY VERY RARE WITH THE CANVAS TOP It has its original mattress and pin striping on the wheels along with the original tires etc. very nice condition-Heywood Company started in the 1820's and merged with the Wakefield company in the 1890's. This was made prior to the merger and is only marked Heywood Co. It has an adjustable position top and the baby position is also able to be set in 3 positions. Great Buggy. Up for Auction is a Vintage Wicker Doll Carriage/Stroller. Linens are included but I'm not sure if their the original linens or not. I purchased this at a Church Sale and was told it was old. But I can't confirm how old it is. Wheels are a bit wobbly and need tightening. Which is a easy fix. There is no damage to the Carriage or excessive ware.
