Okay so here's the story my fellow ebayers! I am a self described seeker of relics(and other things) But Italian made buggies are not things I come across everyday. My daughter actually found this buggy at a flea market auction in rather sad shape. The original plan was to fix it up and she was going to use it for her child who has yet to make his appearance. After finding out she is having a boy, she decided this stroller would no longer suite her needs! So after weeks of work and restoring this nice relic, I find myself stuck with a stroller that I have no use for. I realize this one is not as ornate as some of the ones selling on Ebay, but she sure did clean up rather nicely. however, there are some cosmetic issues that I included in the pictures. The vinyl inside the buggy has two small tears. The metal can be seen on one side of ... morethe buggy cover(also in the pictures) and some smalls stains in the top shade portion that I am not sure how to safely clean out. She sure has been a labor of love and I fear I will not get out what's been invested.but I don't have a choice but to try and sell it. The stroller wheels around perfectly and the chrome shines like a brand new penny. I am not certain of the year as I really do not know much about them. A local antique store owner nearby believes that it is probably early 60's possibly late 50's, but that was his best estimation. At any rate, I am partial to her! I think she is a beauty. Hopefully someone out there in ebay land will agree. Normally returns are not a problem, but with the bigger size of this item that's probably not the best way to go. We have decided to sell our baby pram. This is a great baby carriage that had people stopping in thier tracks(one time a person pulled their car over. Got out and asked to buy it from us! This was manufactured in 1957 and the chrome work on the side resembles the classic belair Chevy. Brakes are operated by foot on the bottom. The top and bottom seperate for transportation. Very sturdy construction as we had both kids in at once when going to functions. It has two spots of noticable damage but does not affect the integrity of the carriage. the small dent in the right side is about the size of a dime and goes in 1/8 of an inch. The other spot is the paint on the front has pulled away but is still intact. I was going to have the carriage repainted but did not want to take away from the original paint job. Large Antique Silver Cross Pram Baby Stroller Carriage Buggy 1950s WASHINGTON DC
Up for sale. A large antique Silver Cross Pram Baby Stroller- Carriage- Buggy. Stroller is earth brown color, made during the 1950s in Birmingham, England. The metal baby carrier can be removed off the chrome chassis. The bedding can be propped up. This is a very nice stroller. This stroller is a full size. It measures roughly 46" tall x 45" long with the handles open x 24" wide, from wheel to wheel. I don't know if the white bedding is original or not. Condition: Wear is expected of a baby carriage this old. Below I've listed everything that I see on the pram. 1) There are no tears or rips in the fabric. It looks very good. 2) On the fabric that covers the bed area. Which comes off, liguid was spilled on one area. 3) The rubber wheels and the break pad show the most wear. They are cracked and dry. 4) One of the two ... morebreak pads is missing. 5) On all four sides of the metal carrier there are a few scratches. Noticable on close inspection. 6) The chrome chassis looks good with m inimal surface rust. Except around the spokes area on the wheels. 7) T he ribbed black handle has a little white mark. Removable with the right cleaner. 8) The metal logo on the front side has part of it loose and disconnected from the rest of the logo. Seen in the 4th photo. The logo looks intact. If left alone, the logo stays intact, but if you move the last 1/2" smaller right part of the logo, it moves, which could be super glued to keep it stayed together. This charming Buggy is unique because of the craftsmanship and attention to detail in the wicker. Iron wheels, pretty cotton lining and even a little hubcap. This carriage is 26" tall to the top of the hood. The carriage is 19" long, 32" long total. The wheels are 7 1/2 inches diameter and have a'G' on them. There is some damage to the top hood and the plastic windows are cracked. The grip of the handlebars is wrapped in tape but it almost appears to be made this way.
