The seat itself is still in tact, I just want to mention it is weathering.it is a thin type of wood or wicker and is raising(weathering) It is not broken or cracked, however there is a small gap on one side~which you can see in the one pic(zoom in) and it will be the left side of your view. It looks as though that was the way it was made~to me. The thin black tires are worn down in spots, revealing the wire/metal that makes the wheel. The back of the buggy/carriage folds down(shown in picture) the front foot resting raises as well. In pausing to check over the buggy, to ensure the description is to the best of my ability~I have just discovered that the buggy folds up entirely.as if you are folding a stroller. Since I cannot add another picture without deleting one~if you are interested in this item, I will gladly send the picture of it folded to your email. The handle to push the buggy is weathered. It due to it's age naturally has the fading or rubbed down spots of the wood, markings, a couple slight cracks(not open) The wicker on the sides of this item, has only a couple little pieces of wicker missing(in two spots& they are not big) It's a beautiful piece, however keep in mind that it's still fragile. It's no longer crisp fresh wicker/wood. The coloring is fading/weathering throught the whole buggy~naturally giving it, it's antique unique look. These two items are as they were for years~together. Description: We are pleased to offer this rare mint-y Heywood Wakefield baby buggy circa 1910-1920. The wicker is in excellent condition and has a lovely swag detail woven into the side pattern. The interior of the carriage was professionally retrofitted by a designer's upholsterer about 25 years ago. It is lined in a blue cotton fabric with a white pindot pattern and finished with self-cording and an eyelet ruffle trim. The mattress and pillow were also custom made at that time. The fabric. Trim, and cording are in very good to excellent condition. We did not find any tears or stains and only a few stray threads that can be easily snipped off. There is some slight fading in some areas of the fabric but it is not very noticeable and would not show if the carriage was used to display dolls or plush animals, for example. The previous owners actually used this family heirloom when their children were babies and it is functional. When not out for a head-turning stroll. The carriage served as a bassinet-on-wheels for a napping newborn. Afterwards it was used to display antique teddy bears in the family's home. Personally, we do not know if this item meets with current safety standards but it probably does not and we do not recommend using it except for display. Antique Black Wicker Baby Doll Stroller Carriage Buggy. Steel Wheels& Frame Stroller measures approximately 35"H x 15"W x 32"L. It is tagged Travers Manufacturing Co. The stroller is made of wicker with a metal frame. Wheels and attachments. There is some general wear from use. The wicker is in good shape and the metal shows no signs of having been bent. The cloth is discolored from age and has pulled from the wicker in a couple of places. Great antique baby carriage it has 2 loops in the front to strap in a little tyke. Perfect for a baby doll. It needs a quick once over with some spray paint on the seat and floor. It is very sturdy. For auction is a beautiful 1880s baby buggy carriage with the original blue upholstery. It is in beautiful condition with only a few minor flaws. All of which are fixable. The upholstery is in great original condition, there are tassels that hang in strategic spots to decorate it, and it rolls very nicely. You don't see them in this condition very often. Antique LLOYD Wicker Baby / Doll Carriage / Buggy ~ Very Unique Rare Adjustable
Antique Wicker Baby or Doll Carriage This antique carriage had belonged to my grandmother. I'm not sure if it was hers when she was little or if she had purchased it but she used it to display a large doll. This unique carriage is made of wicker. Metal and leather. It says Lloyd on both of the front hubcaps. The canopy, the back part of the seat and the foot rest are all adjustable. The canopy is hinged and can be positioned either up or down. there are two metal keys on each side that loosen& tighten the canopy) The back of the seat has 4 or 5 different settings- the baby can sit up or lay down. The foot rest can be lowered if the child is sitting and can be raised if the child is laying down so that his/her feet are level. It measures approx. 29" tall(to the top of the canopy/ hood) and approx. 52" from end to end(from ... morethe end of the canopy to the end of the handle) and is approx. 20 1/2" wide(including the metal locks on each side) The handle measures approx. 26" long. The seat measures approx. 10 1/2" wide x 9" deep. The front wheels are approx. 10 1/2" in diameter. The rear wheels are approx. 2 1/2" in diameter. It is in good condition for its age. There is a lighter discolored spot near the top of the canopy. There are some nicks along the edge of the wicker trim, the cloth on the underside of the canopy has some stains and a couple of tears in the fabric, the wheels squeak when rolled, there is a little bit of light rust in spots and it is a little dusty. The foot rest is made of leather and is still pretty flexible. Please see photos. I took several but could only post 12 so if you would like to see more. Please email me. Email reasonable offers This Vintage Baby Buggy Carriage is very rare and very unique as you can see. What makes this item stand out are the lower wheels. Of how large they are and that both front and rear wheels are at two different sizes. The rear wheels are slightly larger than the front wheels. As I know this is unique and rare design. The rear wheels measure top to bottom 18inches approximately and the front wheels measure approximately 16inches both still have the old rubber on the metal rim portion and are in great shape. These wheels also makes this baby buggy carriage unique due to how large they are. Wheels seem to be able to be taken off item. I have not tried to due to age. Overall height of baby buggy carriage is approximately 48 inches tall open width is about 21inches outside wheel to outside wheel is 23inches about and length ... moreis approximately 47 inches. The very unique design is very impressive. The wicker basket looks like new and the design on basket is unique as well. The inside has the technology to assist in the baby to either lay flat or have the baby sitting more upright as well. All seems to be working properly. The brake is working properly and very rare design look which locks both back brakes and it functions properly as well. The next best thing is this baby buggy is very old late 1800’s design early 1900’s I’m not sure exactly on the period but overall this is a very nice piece and would make a great addition to any collection. There is one spoke wire missing on rear wheel. And the fabric is old with some very old vintage stains. Here we have a nice antique toddler stroller or baby pram. I believe it is from the early 1900's but I am not sure since I could not find any makers mark or date anywhere. The wheels are in great condition and it rolls great. There doesn't seem to be any major cracks in the wicker and all the features work. It has an adjustable canopy and back. Also there is a foot break on it. We have tested it out with a 3 year old and it worked great. This is a great conversation piece or would be wonderful for a doll collector or photographer. This piece was made to resemble an authentic Victorian style pram, using iron, wicker, wood, and cloth, along with techniques to create a vintage"aged" look! The basket measures 14" long by 7" wide by 6" deep. Black cloth and wicker accents adorn the outer basket. The wood wheels are spoked and lined with iron. The wheels do turn! This was my grandmothers from the 30's. It has been in their home for years and is in great condition considering the age. The wicker shows very well. Only one spot of scratches as shown. I actually used this for my daughter when she was little. It has a head adjustment the also moves up and down. Everything on this is in perfect working condition. Up for your consideration is a circa 1930s FA Whitney baby/doll carriage with faded gray wicker and beige steel wheels. The wheels have the original rubber treads which are all in very good condition. The parking brake is functional. The liner is a beige corduroy and is still in good condition.no tears or rips. Wicker has no holes or cracks in it. The carriage is in all original condition with wonderful patina. This would make a great addition for any collector or can be used for display purposes. 1920s Family Antique Wood Wheels Green Wicker Baby Buggy Stroller PICKUP Ohio
We are not antique collectors. But instead have some family items to part with due to clearing their estate. This buggy held my father and his siblings who were all born in the early 1920s- and WWII veterans. It could be FA Whitney Carriage Company but no markings on it that we can find- so don't know the manufacturer. There is a name plate inside the seat area. But it is blank or it was painted over. It measures approx. 45" length from handle to end; handle height is 36" From floor to top of hood is approx. 40" Width of baby buggy is 19" Wood Wheels are 13.5" diam The wood wheel spokes and wood have hard rubber tire and have lots of wear left in them. A real nice piece that moves well. Has a foot brake that works perfectly, and the adjustable carriage hood moves back and forth. Also the baby's seat is adjustable ... moreto a reclining position. Springs appear in good condition. Also had the seat cushion inside. The cushion is soiled of course. But the buggy is in good condition. No damage to the wicker that we can see. Green wicker with white painted trim. Nice baby carriage. Doll stroller, or great décor piece! We are offering this for pickup only at this time in NE Ohio. Late 1800s. Wicker back and sides. Wooden seat covered with corduroy fabric, metal wheels. Large front wheels were covered with? that is missing in several places. The 2 small back wheels are all metal. Wicker in great condition. Fabric ripped. Rust on foot rest. Handle has lock that prevents collapse when extended.
