Description: We are pleased to offer this rare mint-y Heywood Wakefield baby buggy circa 1910-1920. The wicker is in excellent condition and has a lovely swag detail woven into the side pattern. The interior of the carriage was professionally retrofitted by a designer's upholsterer about 25 years ago. It is lined in a blue cotton fabric with a white pindot pattern and finished with self-cording and an eyelet ruffle trim. The mattress and pillow were also custom made at that time. The fabric. Trim, and cording are in very good to excellent condition. We did not find any tears or stains and only a few stray threads that can be easily snipped off. There is some slight fading in some areas of the fabric but it is not very noticeable and would not show if the carriage was used to display dolls or plush animals, for example. The previous owners actually used this family heirloom when their children were babies and it is functional. When not out for a head-turning stroll. The carriage served as a bassinet-on-wheels for a napping newborn. Afterwards it was used to display antique teddy bears in the family's home. Personally, we do not know if this item meets with current safety standards but it probably does not and we do not recommend using it except for display. It would be a lovely way to display antique dolls or a similar collection and a fantastic piece for a shop that sells dolls, baby items, or antique linens, etc. The wicker part of the carriage measures about 41 inches high overall. 22 inches wide, and 36 inches long. It is very old and in good shape. The carriage has a metal frame and wheels; wicker basket and hood. The handle is wooden. It measures 21" tall at the handle. And is approximately 22" from the handle to the front of the buggy. The basket is 16" long and 8" wide. The hood is 7" tall, 8" wide. The basket is wicker on the sides with a thin wood floor and back. It has a metal edge around the top. The wicker hood has a metal frame around it. The carriage is quite well made and unmarked. The stroller is made of wicker with a metal frame. Wheels and attachments. There is some general wear from use. The wicker is in good shape and the metal shows no signs of having been bent. The cloth is discolored from age and has pulled from the wicker in a couple of places. Antique 1940's-50's Bilt Rite Baby Carriage Buggy Stroller in Brown. Bilt Rite was once the top of the line company for the production of baby buggies. Non-restored. These buggies can run about $450 and restored, upwards $950-$1000. As far as I can tell this one has not been restored but everything is in working order. Features spring suspension, adjustable canopy, and working brakes. Inside measures 31 inches long by 14 inches wide with a 7 inch depth to mattress top. Outside measure 48 inches long by 48 inches tall. Wheels are 12 inches in diameter. Condition is quite good for its age. This item is from an old 3 generation farm estate sale. See photos item is as shown. There is some rust, wheels have minor cracks, and there is some rust on the metal under frame. The hood on the buggy folds down and the handle can fold up over the ... moretop lowering the bed down to rest right on top of the wheels. But it can not be folded up any more than that. The bed itself can be removed from the wheel frame by removing the springs. I will ship it. The metal wheel alone is about 5.5 inches in diameter but with the rubber tire. The outside diameter is 6.5 inches. Spokes are real solid and tire rubber is solid also. For auction is a beautiful 1880s baby buggy carriage with the original blue upholstery. It is in beautiful condition with only a few minor flaws. All of which are fixable. The upholstery is in great original condition, there are tassels that hang in strategic spots to decorate it, and it rolls very nicely. You don't see them in this condition very often. This listing is for a beautiful Antique Victorian Wa kefield Wicker B aby C arriage with Parasol. It was manufactured by Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company of Gardner Mass. My research indicates that this style carriage appeared around 1850. It is in good condition for its age. The only damage to the wicker is on the top back rest. See pic. Also someone started to do a restoration job on it and removed all the material from the inside of the carriage down to bare wood. 3 of the wheels are original wood wheels. One wheel is a replacement metal wheel. I also have a 5th metal wheel as a spare. The parasol has many moth holes in it but it's still amazing that it's still intact. Antique LLOYD Wicker Baby / Doll Carriage / Buggy ~ Very Unique Rare Adjustable
Antique Wicker Baby or Doll Carriage This antique carriage had belonged to my grandmother. I'm not sure if it was hers when she was little or if she had purchased it but she used it to display a large doll. This unique carriage is made of wicker. Metal and leather. It says Lloyd on both of the front hubcaps. The canopy, the back part of the seat and the foot rest are all adjustable. The canopy is hinged and can be positioned either up or down. there are two metal keys on each side that loosen& tighten the canopy) The back of the seat has 4 or 5 different settings- the baby can sit up or lay down. The foot rest can be lowered if the child is sitting and can be raised if the child is laying down so that his/her feet are level. It measures approx. 29" tall(to the top of the canopy/ hood) and approx. 52" from end to end(from ... morethe end of the canopy to the end of the handle) and is approx. 20 1/2" wide(including the metal locks on each side) The handle measures approx. 26" long. The seat measures approx. 10 1/2" wide x 9" deep. The front wheels are approx. 10 1/2" in diameter. The rear wheels are approx. 2 1/2" in diameter. It is in good condition for its age. There is a lighter discolored spot near the top of the canopy. There are some nicks along the edge of the wicker trim, the cloth on the underside of the canopy has some stains and a couple of tears in the fabric, the wheels squeak when rolled, there is a little bit of light rust in spots and it is a little dusty. RARE AMISH BABY BUGGY- DON'T PASS UP THIS UNIQUE ITEM! This is an original baby buggy made by the Amish in the late 1800s or early 1900s. It is in very good condition. The wheels rolls nicely, the bonnet moves up an down freely. The interior appears to be original and has some cracking and areas which have been taped. The bonnet material was refurbished but has original hardware and"windows" in the sides. The wheels still have the metal ring on the outer rim and it is in good shape and fully intact. Email reasonable offers This Vintage Baby Buggy Carriage is very rare and very unique as you can see. What makes this item stand out are the lower wheels. Of how large they are and that both front and rear wheels are at two different sizes. The rear wheels are slightly larger than the front wheels. As I know this is unique and rare design. The rear wheels measure top to bottom 18inches approximately and the front wheels measure approximately 16inches both still have the old rubber on the metal rim portion and are in great shape. These wheels also makes this baby buggy carriage unique due to how large they are. Wheels seem to be able to be taken off item. I have not tried to due to age. Overall height of baby buggy carriage is approximately 48 inches tall open width is about 21inches outside wheel to outside wheel is 23inches about and length ... moreis approximately 47 inches. The very unique design is very impressive. The wicker basket looks like new and the design on basket is unique as well. The inside has the technology to assist in the baby to either lay flat or have the baby sitting more upright as well. All seems to be working properly. The brake is working properly and very rare design look which locks both back brakes and it functions properly as well. The next best thing is this baby buggy is very old late 1800’s design early 1900’s I’m not sure exactly on the period but overall this is a very nice piece and would make a great addition to any collection. There is one spoke wire missing on rear wheel. And the fabric is old with some very old vintage stains. Large Antique Silver Cross Pram Baby Stroller Carriage Buggy 1950s WASHINGTON DC
Up for sale. A large antique Silver Cross Pram Baby Stroller- Carriage- Buggy. Stroller is earth brown color, made during the 1950s in Birmingham, England. The metal baby carrier can be removed off the chrome chassis. The bedding can be propped up. This is a very nice stroller. This stroller is a full size. It measures roughly 46" tall x 45" long with the handles open x 24" wide, from wheel to wheel. I don't know if the white bedding is original or not. Condition: Wear is expected of a baby carriage this old. Below I've listed everything that I see on the pram. 1) There are no tears or rips in the fabric. It looks very good. 2) On the fabric that covers the bed area. Which comes off, liguid was spilled on one area. 3) The rubber wheels and the break pad show the most wear. They are cracked and dry. 4) One of the two ... morebreak pads is missing. 5) On all four sides of the metal carrier there are a few scratches. Noticable on close inspection. 6) The chrome chassis looks good with m inimal surface rust. Except around the spokes area on the wheels. 7) T he ribbed black handle has a little white mark. Removable with the right cleaner. 8) The metal logo on the front side has part of it loose and disconnected from the rest of the logo. Seen in the 4th photo. The logo looks intact. If left alone, the logo stays intact, but if you move the last 1/2" smaller right part of the logo, it moves, which could be super glued to keep it stayed together. This carriage is 23" tall at the handlebars and total length is 25" The actual carriage is 19" long. The big wheel is 12 1/4" tall and the small wheel is 8" There is some wicker damage at the arms and some of the pieces are here. This is from the 1890's. I am asking $125.00 as appraised. Antique Wicker Baby Carriage Buggy Doll 30's 40's - Vintage Old Stroller
This was my grandmothers from the 30's. It has been in their home for years and is in great condition considering the age. The wicker shows very well. Only one spot of scratches as shown. Rubber and hubcaps are still on all of the wheels. It does have some surface rust as expected. One of the plastic windows has cracked and is broken out. This would make a great decorator piece.
