This wonderful set of Cufflinks has Antique Gilded Bronze Menuki and they are mounted on Sterling Silver backs and clips. They each have a Rooster motif; one with foliage and the other with a small chick it's seems to be protecting. This dynamic set is in very good condition(some gilding has worn off) one measures 1 9/16 inches by 3/4 inches and the other measures 1 3/8 inches by 11/16 inches. The total weight is 17.2 grams; I don't know how much of that is Sterling. The dear individual who left me this wonderful set, as well as other great cufflinks and mens vintage wristwatches, was the original Mr. GQ who lived quite a worldly life. This is a perfect gift for the Gentleman who has a supurb Cufflink Collection or loves Samurai Swords and Armour. The Kozuka(small utility knife) is beautifully engraved on both si des of the hand le with what appears to be dragons and even has something written on the blade. Makes me wish I was bi-lingual. This Soten style Tsuba set is called Dia-Sho, meaning both Katana ande wakizashi size tsuba. These two pieces were produced at the end of the Edo period around the late 1800's after the war in the 16th century. Many tsuba and swords were baned. Forcing many of the fine Tsuba Craftsmen to resort to reoproductions of the Tsuba and totally banning the Katana, leaving some clever townsfolk to gathere many of the used, distroyed and broken sword pieces, and turning the useless fragments into still effective kitchen knives still used by some towns folks today. This particular set is of the Soten persuation as a decorative piece as it had to be called Edo Kinko. And were sold as is, and now are considered decorative antique Souvenirs. I am offering this interesting group of 3 antique Japanese ornaments that I believe were used to decorate a Samurai sword. The condition is"as pictured" I know very little about these and can't tell if they are complete or if there are broken or missing parts. These pieces were found in in a local estate. In a box of miscellaneous small keepsakes and momentos. They each measure approximately 1 1/2" in length. I am starting these pieces at a very low price as I don't know what they are worth.
