Great antique mortise door lock/ hardware. This piece has a patent date on it of May 6. 1868. It is marked on the opposite side with what looks like N V& Co. New Haven. The mortise has some surface rust mainly on one side. The mortise measures about 5 3/4" in height and 4 1/8" wide with a thickness of about 1 1/8" at the lip, and 7/8" on the inside. I have a nice reusable cast iron rim lock with catch and doorknobs for your consideration. The doorknobs are red clay black glazed period design. The rim box and catch are cast iron. Included are a cast iron rosette for the opposite of the door. A stamped steel keyhole cover, and a standard 1/4 inch drive rod with set screws. The drive gear disengages the latch nicely although the internal parts upon inspection should be cleaned and lubricated for optimal reuse. There is no key although the deadbolt slide and mechanics are intact for when you either find one that works or have one made. SARGENT Brass Face Mortise Lock antique vintage old hardware Russwin key lock
You are buying ONE(1) antique Sargent Brass Face Mortise Lock with a newer Russwin key and key lock cylinder. Spring action on the catch is very good. I could not see if the dead bolt moved. Key turns but the lock works do not move. note the minor surface rust on the lock interior. some of the japanned finish has flaked off due to the rust. I did not marry the Sargent and Russwin pieces. I rec'd the piece as shown in the pics. I subsequently unscrewed the bolt that held on one Russwin key lock cylinder and removed the lock cylinder so that I could fit the lock into a small flat rate box. The inside looks good.but you will have to judge that for yourself.

Antique Mortise Bolt Locks Salvage Hardware for Repair Parts Lot
This is a lot of 2 mortise locks that I found cleaning out an old victorian house. The bodies are painted black white metal with brass parts. One has black paint over brass but the paint looks original too them both. The length of the brass part on the one with paint over it is 5 1/4" long and the other is 5 3/8" long. I never opened them but the parts that should move do! These do show paint wear and are old so please ask any questions! The brass has a spot of brass wear on it that looks like white brass? not sure. All are solid with no metal weaknesses but I am just selling for parts or restore because I never checked the insides. Russwin Mortise lock has a face plate of 1 ¼” wide x 8' tall. 3 7/8' deep. Comes with Three tested and functional keys and 4 brass screws. I tested the keys and the push buttons of the lock multiple times to insure fit and function. This is a 1909 working antique lock, not a newer made in China version. It has pat. Dates on it of Jan. 3. 1907. Aug. 31. 1909, and Oct. 26. 1909 The beautiful door knob goes on the inside and turns to open the door whether it is looked or unlocked. No key is needed for the inside. The brass ring goes on the outside of the door to pull it shut(the ring does pivot to hang down) The door unlocks with the key. Using the push buttons on the face you can have the door open only ... moreby turning the key or by turning the ring. One push button locks the turning of the ring and the other push button would unlock it. The key cylinder is adjustable to fit the thickness of the door. This is steel and solid brass and is a very heavy lock. The keys say Russwin. Made in the USA. I showed a picture of how the door knob goes thru the door. The shaft unscrews near the middle of it. The part that the ring goes on looks like it has to be cut to length once the thickness of the door is determined. lot antique Victorian mortise locks vintage ornate skeleton key door hardware
I have a nice hard to find lot of 7 old mortise locks for your consideration. Most of the original copper Japanning is worn away although still evident. Manufactured by Russell Erwin with an early patent date which is hard to read. These are the harder to find pressed and stamped steel manufacture rather than the majority of cast iron being salvaged. Face plates with nice ornate patterning measures 5 1/4 x 1 inch. box is 3 1/8 inches deep x 3 1/2 inches height x 9/16 of an inch thick. mortise cut to be slight larger. standard 2 1/4 inch offset and standard 1/4 drive. ctr to ctr from 1/4 inch drive to skeleton key barrel is 2 1/8 inches. 5 appear to be in reusable condition and flat springs feel good for reuse. One has a missing or broken flat spring for latch and that same lock box strangely has no patterning on the faceplate. Although it ... morewould serve well for parts for the other 6 boxes. One other lock box is missing the deadbolt. I would imagine you could swap the parts on this sixth box for a workable lot of 6. There are two different swings. six left and one right depending on which side your door is set. flat springs in six of these feel good for reuse. No keys so you will have to either find some that work or have some made. An excellent lot of seven hard to find mortise locks for your vintage authentic renovation or repair all for a low start and no reserve as always. Nice hardware reseller lot as well. This is a nice lot of Antique door hardware. Everything is in good condition considering its age. All mortise locks have been paired to a matching lock. Lots of great stuff. lot antique Victorian Eastlake mortise locks doorknobs vintage lockset hardware
I have a fabulous rare lot of old Eastlake period door hardware for your consideration dating to the 1880's. These are direct drive from doorknob to latch drive. No drive rod. Doorknobs simply snap into lockbox by depressing latch armature and sliding neck collar end into place. This is high quality cast bras or bronze manufacture made by Niles manufacturing Co. of Chicago. Solid cast backplates have a beautiful ornate geometric floral patterning on them consistent with their age. Large bulbous doorknobs look that they might have had an unusual original pattern mimicking a wood grain? Lock face plates have similar patterns. There are two sizes of mortise locks. The larger has a face plate size of 1 1/16 x 6 3/8 and the smaller has a face plate size of 15/16 x 5 5/8 and both have a face plate thickness of 3/16 of an inch. Both mortise ... morelocks appear to have a standard 2 3/8 inch offset. Face of mortise lock to center of key barrel. I do not have any keys that fit so you will have to find one or have one made for these. Subsequently I was not able to test the deadbolt slide. The latches seem to work fine and springs feel good for reuse. Most of the original screws included which are brass or bronze as well. Sorry forgot to remove the matching strikes.You will have to find some that will work with this configuration. This is a nice hard to find lot of old door hardware for your renovation or repair or for the vintage hardware reseller. Look at pics closely and ask any questions you might have other wise what you see is what you get. No reserve and low start as always. Flat ship is 12.95 to the US. Thanks for looking.

Old antique vintage door hardware Mortise Lock skeleton Key L65
Mortise lock has a face plate of 7/8' wide. 5 1/4' tall, 3 1/4' deep. The backset for the knob spindle is about 2 1/2' Comes with one tested and functional skeleton key. I test the key multiple times on both sides of the lock to insure fit and function. The strike bolt can be reversed for doors that swing the other way. Auction is for the lock shown.
