RARE 1" miniature Early 1900s Yale & Towne Mfg. Co padlock with 2 keys!
RARE. MINT CONDITION YALE& TOWN MFG. CO MINIATURE PADLOCK FROM THE EARLY 1900s WITH TWO(2) KEYS THAT APPEAR TO BE ORIGINAL! COLLECTOR'S DON'T MISS THIS ONE! I have researched and researched and this particular size and design are very hard to find, the 4 tiny brass"dots" on the front and back of the lock make it unique. The locking mechanism works perfectly with lots of spring still in it when you open it. The writingon the top lock part is crisp and clear. One side says" YALE& TOWNE MFG. CO. and the other side says"STAMFORD, CONN U.S.A. One key has no markings and the other key says"Kenio" on it- not sure if that is significant or was a duplicate key made at some point. LOOK! This auction is for another miniature padlock. Which may be a dog collar lock. It measures approximately 1 ¼’ long and 7/8” across. There is no key with this padlock. There are concentric circles indented into the design of the padlock. They are slightly off center. The design of the padlock makes it look like it has ears, like a cat’s face or perhaps a mouse or bear. The sign is made of cardboard and it has a neat image of an Airedale terrier in the center. There is a tear in the middle that happened a long time ago. This auction is for a great miniature antique warded brass body padlock with the name'Miller' embossed across the front along with a working key! The lock is in overall great shape with some light color spots on the brass body but there are no dings. Dents, or scratches and the seams are all still tight. The lock still works great as well and the spring in the shackle is still really powerful. When the key is turned and the shackle pops out of the body the spring moves it 90 degrees to the open position so make sure your fingers are clear of its path when opening because it does so with some force. Antique Miniature Ornate Embossed Victorian Diary Padlock Original Key 1890 Era
17/32" across. 1st pictures shows it as it was found with the key being held by a loop attached through the hasp all of which is original from its maker. This dates to the 1890s& was a padlock that was never used to a ladies Victorian Diary. More fancy than others I have owned or veiwed and it works well. Very detailed Victorian design on one side, plain on the other.No markings, I believe it is Nickle plated brass with very little wear.
