Set of 3 Old Vintage Brass Bronze Bank Corbin Mortise Lock Sets Plates Knob Lot
These were salvaged off of a bank building in Baltimore.Md. back in the 1960's. Unfortunately the original owner could not recall which bank it was. The set in the middle takes a regular skeleton key while the 2 sets on either side have a cylinder type lock both of which are marked Corbin. The backing plates are also marked Corbin with the numbers 7788 or 3 and a 0 3X81 it looks like. The backing plate of the one in the center also marked Corbin with the numbers 77831. These look to me to be bronze but could be brass. One of the ones with the cylinder lock is unlocked while the other is currently locked. The one in the center is unlocked but turns kind of crusty sounding if you know what I mean. This one also has a bent and very rusty knob shaft. The backing plates on the 2 with the cylinder locks measure about 8 1/2" X 3" for ... morethe exterior plate and the inner plate is about 7" X 2 3/4"with the lock itself measuring about 4 3/4" X about 3 3/4" The one in the center that takes the skeleton key measures about the same with the lock measuring about 3 5/8" X 3 1/4" I do NOT have any keys for these locks. My eBay name says it all.liquidators. I was an eBay seller back in 2000 and I sold to meet a financial goal. Life has a way of taking over such that when my goal was hit my inventory just sat in storage. Well. I have to admit not only did it sit but over the years I have added to it. Due to my fiancé in all likelihood having to move overseas due to work in 2015 and me tagging along I HAVE TO liquidate my inventory. And yes, I have that much that I need to start now. So, I will be listing an item auction style and if within a certain time frame it is not sold it is going to a consignment auction house. So, if you like it, get it while the getting is good. My prices will be rock bottom due to the amount of items which need to be sold. This lock set was salvaged from a turn of the century home in the Northeast. It features a Corbin mortise ... morelock with steel circle motif doorknobs and two steel back plates. The back plates are signed Pat. July 17 1900. These pieces were covered in layer upon layer of paint and I have done my best to get most of it off but just as a note there is still some surface rust and paint. The screws for the doorknobs are missing and can be easily replaced. The dimensions are as follows: back plate:7 3/4" by 2 1/2" lock case: 3 5/8" rear length. 3 1/4" depth(including faceplate) 1/2" width backset: 2 1/2" faceplate: 5 3/8" by 15/16" The shipping and handling are free. This is a vintage Corbin mortise entry door lock. It is a little dirty but works fine, it has two keys, brass striker plate, and inside turn knob, also included are 5 door knobs with shafts, 3 are brown wood grain the other 2 are black, they do have some surface rust on the shafts but nothing bad, the lock measures about 71/2" X 1 1/4" thank you for looking.

A vintage Corbin brass cylinder half mortise lock for a door. Drawer or whatever your need is. The original metal slot key comes with it. The brass plate measures a little over 2 7/8 inches by 1 7/16 inces. The cylinder is 7/8 inches long by 5/8 inches wide. The lock housing and plate is 3/8 inches thick. The holes are 2 1/2 inches on center side to side and i 1/4 inches top to bottom. The key is 2 1/4 inches long. The lock and key work great. The brass could use a little polish but is in good shape and can be used as is. It is marked with the Corbin logo on the back. This auction is for DOOR HARDWARE for use with a sliding. Or pocket door. All of the parts are present to install a mortised lock within the vertical member of your door. It locks and unlocks, it provides by way of a push button on the door side an oval shaped retracting handle by which one can pull the door along its track or close it. The handle retracts, the button is automatically returned to its'out' position. The key can be used from either side of the door; it locks and unlocks. This is antique. Or vintage hardware manufactured by CORBIN. It is preowned'used' and purchased from an architectural salvage company 15 years ago. The trade name"Corbin" in its older corporate graphic logo is cast in raised profile on the lock body. I would date the hardware to the first quarter of the 20th century. It is in fine ... morecondition- it needs cleaning. Meaning it has accumulated dust, mild oxidation, rust, from basement storage. It will clean readily. I use steel wool. 0000, and a 50/50 solution of turpentine and boiled linseed oil. Your method may be less smelly, we all have our habits. Caution: oily rags can spontaneously combust- many old homes have been lost to such fires. The lock body is cast iron with black japan(a widely used sealant in the 19th century) the faceplate is steel, the door escutcheon plates. Though appearing to be brass are stamped steel, the strike plate is steel, and the funny looking key is brass. Its design is to maintain a low profile, with the intention that the key might remain in the lock while the door is in use. The design of the escutcheon plates features a recessed area, oval and several inches long, intended to serve as a handhold for sliding the door. Vintage Antique Cast Iron Corbin Mortise Door Lock With Glass Knobs hardware
These items came from a very old house and would be great for collecting or restorations. The front plate looks brass but a magnet does stick to it. The front plate measures 6 3/4” long by 7/8” wide. It is very clean inside and all the parts appear to be there. The box measures 3 1/4” wide by 5” tall. The distance from the middle of knob hole to the middle of the key hole is 2 3/8” The latch works and I think the bolt would work too but I DO NOT have a key that fits. The glass knobs measure 2 1/8” wide by 1 ½” tall and have no problems. I have cleaned these up as best I can as they were covered with paint and rust. So some paint and rust spots may remain. This is listing is for a pair(2 cylinders) of Corbin Russwin mortise cylinders. D 170 keyway. Brushed chrome finish. About 1" deep. Condition is great. These are new old stock that have never been used or installed. They may have very minor scratches from being in a box with other cylinders and the brass areas show some patina; see pictures. They were stored in a warehouse for a zillion years. I have additional cylinders. These are not keyed up to any keys. This is a mix and match lot of 1900's and older antique mortise locks. Knob, backplate. Most are brass, some are steel/cast. The eastlake style mortise has damage to one side and the lock part does not work. All four of the mortise engage the door when a knob is attached.

Rare Corbin Mortise Set - 100% Brass
Heavy duty set in great shape. I have no idea as to its age. Certainly must be old as I've not seen one exactly like it. I put a magnet to it and everything is brass right down to the spring. Probably, why it is in the shape its in. That and it seems someone decided to dip the whole thing in a bucket of white paint that was a beast to peal off. Thanks for checking this one out.
