This is a vintage EAGLE LOCK Rim Night Latch. All us older folks remember these on the back door. Made sure it was locked at night. This one is unused and still in the original display box. Box is a bit beat. But it is all there. Includes all the parts and an instruction sheet, with the 2 keys. The color is like the gold in the first picture. Has a crackle finish. Instruction sheet is dated October, 1956, so this lock goes way back. Eagle lock is an old company out of Terryville, Connecticut. If you are looking for that original style for your back door. Corbin rim night latch door lock & key - cylinder only unused old stock
This is a brass cylinder lock and 3 keys made by the P. F. Corbin cabinet lock co. It is in good working order. And looks like it was never used. It is 1- 3/8" across the front, and fits into a round opening that is about 1- 3/16" or a hair less) The cylinder is 1- 1/4" long, and the steel rod that protrudes out the back is 2- 1/16" long, with a notch at 1- 9/16" where it can be snapped shorter if necessary. Originally it went with rim night latch#456, but the latch is missing. The face of the cylinder has a little discoloration at the edge, and the steel parts at the back of the cylinder have some rust. This is a vintage Corbin Rim Night Latch key kit. This is an unused item in the original box. The lock is still wrapped in the original tissue paper. Has that great old black crackle finish. Everything is there. Including the installation instructions. Back in the day we all had these on the back door and we had to check them at night before we turned in. This was the official back door lock forever. That is going back a few years. If you are trying to get that vintage look again, this lock will work great for you. Check out the keys.
