Wire brushed and cleaned with scotch brite. The parts were sprayed with 2 coats of clear acrylic lacquer finish made by Sherwin Williams that is specially made for cast iron. Blemishes and specks in the glazing like all good old porcelain should have. The blemishes are hard to get to show in the pictures. There are no chips or cracks. The parts were sprayed with 2 coats of clear acrylic lacquer finish made by Sherwin Williams that is specially made for cast iron. This is far better than any hardware store spray paint and has superior scratch resistance.
