Antique old door hardware Russwin Mortise Lock with skeleton Key L18
Mortise lock has a face plate of 7/8' wide x 5 1/8' tall. 1/8' thick. Lock is 3 1/4' deep. Has a heavy duty aluminum face plate. Comes with one tested and functional skeleton key. I test the key multiple times on both sides of the lock to insure fit and function. The strike bolt can be reversed for doors that swing the other way. This is a used working vintage lock, not a newer made in China version. It has all springs and internal parts and the strike plate. Free priority shipping. SARGENT Brass Face Mortise Lock antique vintage old hardware Russwin key lock
You are buying ONE(1) antique Sargent Brass Face Mortise Lock with a newer Russwin key and key lock cylinder. Spring action on the catch is very good. I could not see if the dead bolt moved. Key turns but the lock works do not move. note the minor surface rust on the lock interior. some of the japanned finish has flaked off due to the rust. I did not marry the Sargent and Russwin pieces. I rec'd the piece as shown in the pics. I subsequently unscrewed the bolt that held on one Russwin key lock cylinder and removed the lock cylinder so that I could fit the lock into a small flat rate box. The inside looks good.but you will have to judge that for yourself.

Russwin Mortise lock has a face plate of 1 ¼” wide x 8' tall. 3 7/8' deep. Comes with Three tested and functional keys and 4 brass screws. I tested the keys and the push buttons of the lock multiple times to insure fit and function. This is a 1909 working antique lock, not a newer made in China version. It has pat. Dates on it of Jan. 3. 1907. Aug. 31. 1909, and Oct. 26. 1909 The beautiful door knob goes on the inside and turns to open the door whether it is looked or unlocked. No key is needed for the inside. The brass ring goes on the outside of the door to pull it shut(the ring does pivot to hang down) The door unlocks with the key. Using the push buttons on the face you can have the door open only ... moreby turning the key or by turning the ring. One push button locks the turning of the ring and the other push button would unlock it. The key cylinder is adjustable to fit the thickness of the door. This is steel and solid brass and is a very heavy lock. The keys say Russwin. Made in the USA. I showed a picture of how the door knob goes thru the door. The shaft unscrews near the middle of it. The part that the ring goes on looks like it has to be cut to length once the thickness of the door is determined. This is listing is for a pair(2 cylinders) of Corbin Russwin mortise cylinders. D 170 keyway. Brushed chrome finish. About 1" deep. Condition is great. These are new old stock that have never been used or installed. They may have very minor scratches from being in a box with other cylinders and the brass areas show some patina; see pictures. They were stored in a warehouse for a zillion years. I have additional cylinders. These are not keyed up to any keys. But I will include two pairs of OEM old style Russwin precut keys with the listing. One of the nicest bow keys ever made if you ask me.
