I purchased this for my Victorian home about ten years ago. I moved out long ago and this was never installed in my house. It is from The Brass Knob Architectural Antique store in Washington DC. It still has price stickers on most pieces. I pieced together a full set that I thought was gorgeous and went together well. It also works. I guarantee it or your money back. Two doorknobs, one lockset to insert into the door, a lock in the lockset without a key and another Corbin lock with a vintage key, a door jamb plate with screws. You will only need screws to mount the antique faceplates. The door knobs are an identical set. I cannot find a name on them. The lockset has a lock in it, but there was no key, so I bought the ... moreCorbin lock with a key to have inserted. Everything is vintage except the piece you screw into the door jamb, that is shown in the plastic bag. Everything works. The deadbolt turns and moves well. There are two faceplates. One is 8 3/4 by 2 3/8 inches. The other one is 11 1/2 by 3 1/8 inches. The knobs are 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The deadbolt thumb turner is 1 3/8 inches. The white painted plate is 1 3/16 wide and 7 15/16 long. The part of the lockset that gets inserted into the door is 3/4 inch wide. 5 1/2 inches tall, and just under 4 inches deep(including the thickness of the white painted plate) Each Knob has a six petal flower center. There are tiny flowers decorating the edges of the larger plate and some type of crest with tiny urns decorating the smaller faceplate. The larger faceplate is marked $55. The smaller one $65, the lockset $30, the knobs $110, and the Corbin lock and key and new door jamb plate are not marked. Antique Vintage Sargent & Co. Victorian/Eastlake Brass Mortise Entry Door Lockse
Today I have a Sargent& Co. Of New Haven, Connecticutt, entry door set. There is the makers name and a patent date of Jan. 26, 1886 on the lock. It appears to be brass, I didn't clean so the original patina is there. Comes with everything in pictures, lock with face plate, escutcheon plate with two key holes- one covered by cover that swings to side, key hole plate, thumb turn for deadbolt, round plate for handle to pass thru, two washers, and all original screws for mounting. It may be hard to see, but all plates have lots of detail on them. Cleaned up they should shine. The lock part that would fit in pocket measures, 4-3/4" tall, 7/8" wide, and 4-1/2" deep. These are awesome rare Victorian slide and turn bolt that mounts to the inside of the door(small on Bottom. Large on top. The decorative visible side is solid brass about 6/16 of an inch thick. The back rod and spring is steel. The long top lock is 24" long and 1-1/2 wide The short bottom lock is 12" long and 1-1/2 wide bottom turn bolt has some corrosion on the brass as can be seen in the pictures. I have a nice hard to find lot of 7 old mortise locks for your consideration. Most of the original copper Japanning is worn away although still evident. Manufactured by Russell Erwin with an early patent date which is hard to read. These are the harder to find pressed and stamped steel manufacture rather than the majority of cast iron being salvaged. Face plates with nice ornate patterning measures 5 1/4 x 1 inch. box is 3 1/8 inches deep x 3 1/2 inches height x 9/16 of an inch thick. mortise cut to be slight larger. standard 2 1/4 inch offset and standard 1/4 drive. ctr to ctr from 1/4 inch drive to skeleton key barrel is 2 1/8 inches. 5 appear to be in reusable condition and flat springs feel good for reuse. One has a missing or broken flat spring for latch and that same lock box strangely has no patterning on the faceplate. Although it ... morewould serve well for parts for the other 6 boxes. One other lock box is missing the deadbolt. I would imagine you could swap the parts on this sixth box for a workable lot of 6. There are two different swings. six left and one right depending on which side your door is set. flat springs in six of these feel good for reuse. No keys so you will have to either find some that work or have some made. An excellent lot of seven hard to find mortise locks for your vintage authentic renovation or repair all for a low start and no reserve as always. Nice hardware reseller lot as well. I do not have a skeleton key that fits this deadbolt, but I do feel healthy movement in there as I tested keys. The face plate has no paint. No rust. The design is very sharp and crisp. I have a fabulous rare lot of old Eastlake period door hardware for your consideration dating to the 1880's. These are direct drive from doorknob to latch drive. No drive rod. Doorknobs simply snap into lockbox by depressing latch armature and sliding neck collar end into place. This is high quality cast bras or bronze manufacture made by Niles manufacturing Co. of Chicago. Solid cast backplates have a beautiful ornate geometric floral patterning on them consistent with their age. Large bulbous doorknobs look that they might have had an unusual original pattern mimicking a wood grain? Lock face plates have similar patterns. There are two sizes of mortise locks. The larger has a face plate size of 1 1/16 x 6 3/8 and the smaller has a face plate size of 15/16 x 5 5/8 and both have a face plate thickness of 3/16 of an inch. Both mortise ... morelocks appear to have a standard 2 3/8 inch offset. Face of mortise lock to center of key barrel. I do not have any keys that fit so you will have to find one or have one made for these. Subsequently I was not able to test the deadbolt slide. The latches seem to work fine and springs feel good for reuse. Most of the original screws included which are brass or bronze as well. Sorry forgot to remove the matching strikes.You will have to find some that will work with this configuration. This is a nice hard to find lot of old door hardware for your renovation or repair or for the vintage hardware reseller. I have a nice old ornate thumb latch mortise lock for your consideration. Ornate floral geometric patterning consistent with its 145 year old age. Nice large chunky brass slide bolt. Lock face measures 4 9/16 x 1 1/8 x 1/8 inch thick. Depth of mortise cut from face plate to end of box(including 1/8 thick face plate) is 2 5/8. deep. Height for cut is 2 13/16 x 11/16 inches. Mortise will be slightly larger than box. Upon inspection looks all intact although there is some minor wear to the internal mechanism for disengagement of latch slide. 1/16- 1/8 inch) Works although it is slightly short of full recess. It looks that it could be repeened carefully for 100% functionality. Will work as is though. Nice old hard to find lock for your authentic vintage renovation or repair.
