This is an antique hand painted Limoges GDA candlestick candle holder. The candlestick measures 6 and 1/4 inch in diameter and is 2 and 1/2 inches high. The bottom has the GDA mark and the impression hv which I am going to assume is for Haviland. It looks like the artist signature is worked into the design to the left of finger ring. There is a faint hairline on the top of the candle well but no chips or cracks. This is a great piece for the Limoges collector and the candlestick collector! no country of manufacture and no markings they are a heavy bisque with either brass or bronze candle cups rod through base. PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: This is a beautiful. Exquisite, pair of porcelain candlesticks marked Vienna Austria. Ca. 1890s-1908. These are blanks measuring 8 1/4 in. tall, hand painted by a skillful artist and signed M.E.G. White porcelain with alternating(three) panels of yellow and pink roses with soft variations of green leaves that run vertically down the center stem of each stick. The background behind the roses and leaves is a lovely soft bluish green. The neck of each stick is painted with pink and yellow roses and soft green leaves. The top edge of the bobeche has a wonderful scalloped rococo relief heavily painted with gold gilt. The base of each stick is also scalloped with heavy gold gilt paint. They are truly exquisite and elegant. Each are marked on the underside as shown in the last photo. Please read condition below and look ... moreat all of the photos as they are part of the description. CONDITION: Excellent condition with no cracks. Hairlines, crazing, chips or stains. No wear to the gilded gold trims. A few minor skips of gold but not worth mentioning. One stick has a defined rail on the underside and is painted gold. The other is not painted gold and part of the rail has smoothed out, thus making this a ting shorter by about 1/8 in. Both sticks stand firmly on a flat surface with no wobble. Floral hand painted decoration is vivid and bright as is the gold gilt paint! I think these have never been used. LOVE IT! MEASURES: One is 8 1/4 in. tall the other 8 3/8 in. tall due to the rail. Magnificent Antique SITZENDORF Dresden 21" Pair 4 Light Candelabra Man/Woman EXC
This is an amazing pair of antique porcelain candelabra from Germany. Made by the Dresden Sitzendorf factory dating between 1880s-1910 or so. Magnificent 21" high. 4 light set. Applied floral and vines throughout; one has a lady with large basket and the other has a gentleman with a large basket. He has one foot upon a light blue pumpkin or eggplant type vegetable. Very elegant attire and superb expression, detail and quality. The overall condition is outstanding. There are some petal. Leaf and vine chips scattered around but none are glaring. You have to look closely to notice. The lady's center bobeche looks to have been repaired(as shown) Another of her bobeche has a chip to the bottom pink leaf and the removeable arm is a bit loose in its fitting. I would just put a bit of putty on the bottom. The Sitzendorf mark is apparent ... moreon one but faint. They each bear impressed numbers and the written number 34. This is my favorite out of approximately 13 sets I have had over the years. The figures are huge and just outstanding quality. Plus they are just encrusted with large flowers throughout. This glazed holder has an applied finger loop and a central shaft where the candle would fit. The piece has a round flat base with rounded sides rising to a plain rim. The candlestick holder is colored in a nice olive brown color with dark highlights along the edges of the rim and the top of the shaft where the candle would fit. The coloring of the piece has the usual mottling you would expect in a Stahl piece of this vintage. The base of the pot is unglazed and shows the typical color of unglazed redware. Pair Rookwood Candlesticks Lotus Blossoms
Up for auction is a pair of Rookwood candlesticks circa 1946. Lotus blossoms on water lilly pads siting 3-7/8" high and 3-3/4" wide in a blue celadon high glaze finish. They are impressed on the bottom with the Rookwood logo and dated flame mark and the Number 2992. The candlesticks are in just shy of excellant condition with a couple of miniscule glaze pops/chips so small couldn't be photo'd. This is an amazing Antique Set of 3 Meissen Porcelain Matching Pieces consisting of a 16" Tall Compote and 2 matching 9" tall Candlesticks. Pair of stunning 1880-1920 Meissen type hand painted rose candlesticks.
I have for auction a BEAUTIFUL pair of hand painted. Antique candlesticks with roses spiralling fown the length of the sticks. I say Meissen-type is because i dont recognize the mark but the quality is that of Meissen pieces. The pair measure 14" tall by 6" at the base. There is little, if any damage i could see. There is SO much detail i cannot guarantee there isnt subtle chips or scratches. I can, however, tell you i looked them over quite thoroughly and found nothing. As i said, i DO NOT know the mark but they are of extremely high quality and as all porcelain lovers know, rare to be undamaged. Don't miss this one. As they say, A"Meissen" rose by any other nam. For sale from France are a pair of beautiful bronze and hand-painted porcelain candlesticks. These are genuine and not reproduction. They look like Sevres porcelain but I am not an expert on this. MAJESTIC ROOKWOOD 13" CANDLE HOLDER/LAMP with EGYPTIAN THEME - by Arthur Conant
Rookwood wonder. from the 1920's. Tall lamp base/or candle holder with Egyptian facets. Designed by Arthur Conant and cast in 1920. The 13 inch pottery portion is covered with a blue/green glossy glaze. Marks include the Rookwood logo. The date and shape 2497. There is an X marked on the bottom of the pottery. Perhaps indicating that it was a second. Due to the glaze that does not cover in various places. 13" tall Base is 5"square. There are holes at the top and at the bottom molded that way. To hold lamp fittings if one wanted them. Slight crazing under the glaze- it's almost 100 years old. This is a tour de force of 20's Egyptian design with detail after detail from the layered base through the lustrous column to the top plateau and surrounding patterns.

Castleford Feldspathic Staffordshire Stoneware Enamel Decorated Candlestick 1810
Here we have a 5 1/8" tall Castleford candlestick that has blue and red enamel decoration. This piece was made in the Staffordshire district in the 1810 period and is a pretty scarce item. The square base measures 2 9/16" square and the condition is extremely good for one of these. Some people call this feldspathic and it appears to be a type of porcelain. Other than a few tiny nicks on the bottom of the column on the blue decorated raised rings and an insignificant in the making annealing line underneath the piece. It's fine. Yellow/gold trellis 19C English chamber stick 'Rockingham' unmrkd. Flower sprays
This diminutive bone china chamber stick measuring 12 cm or 4.25 inches in diameter(including the handle) could have been made by any of a half dozen English firms that flourished in the first quarter of the 19th Century. Old school' English dealers refer to such unmarked pieces as Rockingham in much the same way that they once termed some Chinese Export Lowestoft. It could just as easily have come from Spode or Coalport. Who often neglected to mark their ware. What it definitely is is a pretty and charming piece in its own right and in almost perfect condition excepting some slight rubbing of the gilding which it was almost impossible even to photograph. If you look hard enough at my pictures you might discern it. The four small floral vignettes are also well executed. This is a ten day auction with no reserve.
