Antique French Porcelain Candlestick Pair Blue Crossed Arrows Damaged Bases
Up for auction is an antique pair of porcelain candlesticks that were"MADE IN FRANCE" Each candlestick is 8 1/2" tall with a base diameter of 3 3/4" They are maroon with raised Acanthus leaves and there is a raised star on the base and beading accents. They are ribbed with delicate gold flowers and leaves. Most of the gold that was used to accent the raised portions of the candle sticks is now gone from age and use. Also. The gold has worn away from the raised stars on the bases. These candle holders are made in three sections that are joined with metal washers. Both of the pieces have damage just above the bases at the washers. One of the holders is loose at this joint. There is some wax residue. There is a tiny chip on the bottom of one of the holders(see photos) They are both marked with the blue under glaze crossed ... morearrows mark and then have in over glaze"MADE IN FRANCE" handwritten in red. It features graceful scrolling acanthus leaves, rams heads and florals. The candelabra is footed and sits atop a marble square that sits atop a bronze acanthus base. The column features ornate metalwork and an application of black patina as well as one large, faceted glass bead. This is a very elegant, impressive and heavy candelabra. Guerin Limoges 6" tall hand painted Deco style candle stick with gold gilt cup
I have for you this evening a lovely example of French made porcelain created at the kilns of William Guerin in the late 19th to very early 20th century. The porcelain is an excellent grade and the mold design is a classic hexagonal shape. The decoration was done by a house painter years after the piece was made in the early 20th century and done in the deco style. This piece will make a lovely addition to your collection and it will also display nicely no matter the setting. Item dimensions and dating: All measurements are approximate. This piece measures 6" tall. This piece dates from the late 19th to early 20th century by the mold design and decorative elements. Item condition report: This piece is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or crazing. The colors are still fresh and vibrant and the gold appears to be very nearly ... morefully intact. They stand on raised round bases with a celestial blue glaze and applied porcelain flowers. Leaves and vines. The bases are further enhanced with hand painted flowers with yellow centers. They are further enhanced with heavy applied gold highlights. The bottoms of the candlesticks have an underglaze blue crossed line mark for Sitzendorf. These are gorgeous antique Dresden candlesticks by Richard Klemm. They bear the blue crown mark on the underside which dates them back to 1883 through 1916. Dresden became associated with the crown mark through Richard Klemm. As it was first regulated by Klemm of Donath and Co in 1883. The blue crown mark assures the the validity of Dresden. Between 1855 and 1944 there were over 200 painting shops in Dresden alone. Dresden china is referred to as"rococo revival" style. They incorporated this style into figurines and dinnerware characterized by elaborate fanciful floral designs. These pieces are prized today as some of the finest. The candlesticks presented here are in excellent condition with no flaws or defects. They actually look perfect, despite their great age. Up for sale is a vintage art pottery Majolica chamber stick candle holder with the mark of Egisto Fantechi of Italy. It is white with hand painted serpents in the Renaissance Mythological Style. It is 4 1/4" tall and the base diameter is 3 1/2" with an attached handle. It is signed with the"caliper within the shield" which is the mark of the artistic ceramics firm of SIFMA and used by Egisto Fantechi from 1905 to 1933. There are no chips or cracks. On the coat collar one tip is broken off and the other tip has been repaired. The paint on the face is in great condition, with no cosmetic flaws. An unusual pair of antique. Circa 1860's, Old Paris porcelain bisque and glazed figural courtship candlesticks. The 18th century costumed couple in bisque hold the glazed stem of the stick with glazed socket at top. A glazed cobalt with green enamel acanthus leaf adds color. They measure 13-1/4" tall by 6" wide by 4-1/2" deep. Good condition: bisque figures are without damage. Socket, and top leaf end, of gentleman candlestick, both stapled and cemented back, minor chip to a bottom leaf. Top leaf of lady candlestick glued back. Some minor wear to gilt on either, as usual. This beautiful boudoire candlestick came from a local estate. The owner of the candlestick is a wonderful elderly lady who is 82 years old and said it was a gift from her grandmother. The elaborate candelabra measures 15 ¼ inches or 38.7 cm high. And are 9 ¼ inches or 23.5 cm at their widest. The figural candelabra feature a scalloped bottom edge with a reticulated base. And beautiful elaborate applied porcelain flowers. The standards feature full standing figures of winged cherubs with sashes tied around their waists. These standards support the three arms. Antique German Dresden Porcelain Figural Group Lamp Base C1910 No Reserve Description. This listing is for a circa 1910 German Dresden figural single light lamp base by Carl Thieme. The lamp base measures 13 ¼ inches or 33.5 cm high to the top of the socket. And is 6 ¼ inches or 16 cm wide at the base. The figural lamp base features a scrolling footed base which is further enhanced with heavy applied gold. The figures are a man and woman in their finest clothes. They are decorated with applied porcelain flowers and heavy applied gold. Behind them a tree trunk rises up and holds the socket. The lamp has a single light with a push button switch. It is marked on the bottom“DRESDEN” An initial mark for Carl Thieme, and“SAXONY” below it. The lamp is in overall very good condition. Antique Early American Porcelain Girl Bird Tree Candlesticks Folk Art 18th C
This is a beautiful pair of Antique Porcelain Candlesticks from a recent estate. The estate had lots of items from the 1700's and this set looks to be from the same period and either early american or german. The candlesticks each measure about 8" tall and are quite primitive looking and very unique. They are in excellent condition for their age and have a nice bluish white tint.
