Each candlestick has some unique characteristics due to being hand made. In flawless condition. Absolutely no chips. Cracks or crazing anywhere on either piece. Flowers are complete with no missing petals or other imperfections. One candlestick has two tiny underglaze spots of green paint on base edge and the other has one spot on the top edge. Antique austrian porcelain hand painted candlesticks. They are 2 1/4" tall. 2 3/4" across. They are white porcelain with gold rims and details. There are pink and wine flowers around the top and sides. They are marked on the bottom underglaze in blue with a beehive and a crown with the word Wien under the mark. Mr. Long dated the candlesticks circa 1840 on the sales receipt. Condition: The candlesticks are in good antique condition and appear to be free of repairs, chips and cracks. Please note carefully that the thin gilded line decoration is strong in some areas, faint in others and, in certain spots, has totally disappeared due to age and use. Antique Pair Gold Gilt Italian Footed Candlesticks/Candle Holders w Chain Accent Up for sale is a gorgeous pair of vintage gold gilt white Italian porcelain candlesticks. I purchased this pair at an estate auction-they need a little work that I haven't put into them. But with a little effort they could be a very impressive set. They need some residual wax from use cleaned. The cup of one holder has come unglued(as in photo#8) It is not a break just needs reglued. The candlestick are accented with brass metal studs and chains. As in photo#6, one stud is loose and can come out. It sits in place fine but it could be permanently glued. In photo#9 you see the only repair that has been made. A porcelain foot has been repaired and glued into place at the seam where it meets the base. It's hard to notice. The bottom is marked"Italy"The ... moreoriginal labels are missing. They are nearly 9.75" tall and the base is nearly a 3.75" square. I'm uncertain of their age but believe them to be several years old. Lots of potential for a beautiful pair. These are a pair of antique Faience candlesticks from the late 19th to early 20th Century. They are either French of German but the maker is unknown to me. Please let me know if you recognize the mark. The stand 9.25" H. With 5.25" bases. They retain wonderful colors but there are losses to the glaze here and there. There is a repair to the top of one candlestick and a burn to the top of the other. The cherubs clinging to grapevines bases are beautifully designed and painted. One candlestick is missing its bobeche and candle cup. So I've set the opening bid accordingly. Antique French Porcelain Candlestick Pair Blue Crossed Arrows Damaged Bases
Up for auction is an antique pair of porcelain candlesticks that were"MADE IN FRANCE" Each candlestick is 8 1/2" tall with a base diameter of 3 3/4" They are maroon with raised Acanthus leaves and there is a raised star on the base and beading accents. They are ribbed with delicate gold flowers and leaves. Most of the gold that was used to accent the raised portions of the candle sticks is now gone from age and use. Also. The gold has worn away from the raised stars on the bases. These candle holders are made in three sections that are joined with metal washers. Both of the pieces have damage just above the bases at the washers. One of the holders is loose at this joint. There is some wax residue. There is a tiny chip on the bottom of one of the holders(see photos) They are both marked with the blue under glaze crossed ... morearrows mark and then have in over glaze"MADE IN FRANCE" handwritten in red. The candlesticks posed together feature a brightly dressed courting couple. The one piece features a young man playing music on a wind instrument. With much pleasure we are offering a lovely pair of Richard Klemm Dresden Candlestick holders of Meissen Saxony If you have a passion for Richard Klemm porcelain you will appreciate the fine artistry displayed in this set of Candle holders and the well combined palette of colors used to create this stunning set. As you can see the talented artist depicts four different cameos on each side of the holders. All beautifully gilded. D resden-Richard-Klemm-Mark 9" tall-4 1/2" base We find this mark was used by the Richard Klemm Decorating Studio. Whose decorating style was similar to that of the Meissen. This particular mark used by the studio circa 1881 to 1914. Once a marking has been identified. The rest of the puzzle ... morefalls into place. Digging a little deeper about the owner of the marking by using both print and online reference sources for 19th-century pottery and porcelain. We find that the Klemm studio was founded by Karl Richard Klemm in Dresden. Germany, in 1869. His studio was one of many in Dresden during this late Victorian period. There were more than 40 studios in the Dresden area that specialized in the painting of porcelain in the Meissen style. These are absolutely beautiful. As found. A pair of Sitzendorf candelabra, late 19th century, modeled as a young gentleman with a purse holding a golden goblet and a young lady holding a pitcher(for wine perhaps) Both figures wear aprons. The columns of the candelabra are flower encrusted and both stand on flower encrusted bases. The gentleman carries a three armed candle holder and the lady has a single candle holder. Measuring approximately There is some damage notably: The gentleman: the head has been glued under the chin and there are some flaws on his forehead. Worn gilt on the goblet and a small chip on the base of the goblet. Missing rosebud on right hand branch of candleholder. Tips of two petals on right hand candle holder have small chips. The lady: has an unattached garland of buds/berries and some unattached netting around her hair and neck and it is not known ... moreif these were originally part of the decoration. There is a rough spot under the bottom of the center front fold of the skirt that could be a firing flaw. On both: the flowers. Leaves, petals and gilding are mostly intact but, in keeping with their age, there are some chips/cracks/missing or worn paint etc. all as pictured. Overall the colors are vibrant and the painted decoration and gilding is in good condition with lots of very fine detail on the faces, costumes, and accessories. This is an amazing pair of antique porcelain candelabra from Germany. Made by the Dresden Sitzendorf factory dating between 1880s-1910 or so. Magnificent 21" high. 4 light set. Applied floral and vines throughout; one has a lady with large basket and the other has a gentleman with a large basket. He has one foot upon a light blue pumpkin or eggplant type vegetable. Very elegant attire and superb expression, detail and quality. The overall condition is outstanding. There are some petal. Leaf and vine chips scattered around but none are glaring. You have to look closely to notice. The lady's center bobeche looks to have been repaired(as shown) Another of her bobeche has a chip to the bottom pink leaf and the removeable arm is a bit loose in its fitting. I would just put a bit of putty on the bottom. The Sitzendorf mark is apparent ... moreon one but faint. They each bear impressed numbers and the written number 34. For sale from France are a pair of beautiful bronze and hand-painted porcelain candlesticks. These are genuine and not reproduction. They look like Sevres porcelain but I am not an expert on this. Most likely to be 19th century. They come from an estate clearance in central Brittany. The sconce of one candlestick has been damaged and is slightly tilted see photo 3. Otherwise the candlesticks are in good uncleaned condition. They measure 22cm(8.66 inches) high and the diameter of the base is 11cm(4.33inches) The pair weigh 1.032kg. And are in excellent condition. Each measures 20" tall, 11.5" wide and 11.5" deep. They feature three candle arms and extensive raised floral decoration. One depicts cherubs with a summer harvest motif and the other depicts cherubs with a Bacchanal theme. There are no signs of restoration, and some small losses to the floral petals. This great pair feature a male and female figure Against a floral background. With two highly stylized flowers flanking them left and right. Unmarked except for the molded number"14" on their reverse side base and with a"58" and"73" in red enamel overglaze Marking the interior of them. The pair were molded slightly off kilter.
