1937 Denoyer Geppert Big Wall Map Junior Political Series North America Map J5
Here is a very cool Denoyer Geppert Pull down school map of North America from 1937 for sale. This is a big map that measures 43" across and 60" tall. This map is in good antique condition. Please see all pictures as there are areas of wear from age and use. But overall I could almost call it great condition for how old it is and considering the amount of use it has had over the years. There is seperation from the bottom pole on the right side about a third of the way across the bottom. Really what a person should do though is get rid of the poles and have this framed anyway. This is a vintage"Cleartype Railroad Map of the United States. This is a wall map measuring approximately 44" x 64" I have been unable to locate a year of the map on the map itself. Map no. 717" is printed on the front. The map lists the railroads in the index. Many of which no longer exist. I am most familiar with Northeast railroads and it lists railroads that were defunct long ago(i.e. New York Central, Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley, CNJ, New York, New Haven& Hartford- just to name a few) Overall the map is in nice condition, but it does show some signs of aging. There is some yellowing along the edges and back. The edges are a little rough and wrinkled in areas, but I didn't notice any significant rips or tears. There is also what appears to be a pencil mark on the back of the map. This map would make a terrific ... moreaddition to any map collector's collection or for display in a"Train Room. It's the 1st general map ever produced showing the geology of the Nor th African country. It' s dated 18 81. This is not a modern reproduction! The map is a chromo-lithograph. It cons ists of four(4) separate sheets. If they were joined together. The entire map would measure about 39" by 52" 99.1 x 132.1 cm) to the neat line, with ample margins.
