Map of Sutton Park An attractive colour map of Sutton Park. Sutton Cold field. In Birmingham. The largest ur ban park in Europe. It is based on the Ordnance Survey map. It measures 36 x 42 cm approx. It is a fold up map. Missing most of its cover, but would look nice if pressed. Mounted and framed. It is undated, but I would guess it is at least 50 or 60 years old. Scale: 6" to 1 mile. Condition: Only a remnant of the cover is still attached to it. There are some small tears around the edges. A few tiny holes wh ere the creases ove rlap and a few other creases- there are no significant losses though. So once pressed the tears etc, would not be particua rly noticeable. There is some pen. Pencil and crayon in places(some visible in photos) but this is generally quite faint and not very noticeab le from a distance. Please note that some ... moreof the photos give elements of the map a pink or purple tin t which is not the case. Mild yellowing and a few other marks. Not perfect. But with careful framing could be much improved and very attractive. Note: The photo below has slightly inaccurate colours.

The atlas is the first to compile and show in detail the various counties, cities and towns of Kansas. The maps show much details including towns, townships, sections, quarter sections, schools, some houses and other details. On some maps there are surveryor seals, signatures ... moreand script that were printed in the plate, many of these maps were originally procured from the Kansas Survey offices and reproduced for the atlas. The maps were first printed by lithographic process and then the color washes were hand applied, often with stencil for the large fields of color. The map is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as seen in the pics, photographed against a dark background. There are maps and town plans on both sides as seen, so if framing one would have to choose a side to frame. Overall, a very nice rare example in very good condition for its age. Size: The entire page measures 14 by 17 1/2 inches with the map image area slightly smaller as shown in the pic with a margin all around. Condition: It is in Fair to Good condition for its age printed on a light buff page and original handcoloring as issued. It is basically as seen in the pics.
