An Antique Howe Counter Top Platform Scale in very good condition considering the age and use. Green Color. Have no idea if that is the original color or this scale had been painted many many years ago. In working condition. comes with 5 assorted weights and the little hanger they set on. the top adjusting arm in brass. the scale platform measures 11 by 14 1/2 inches. and it stands 17 inches tall. Pick-up preferred but as always shipping can be arranged. I am guessing the shipping weight at around 80 pounds. this may not be accurate. A Mapp of RUTLAND With its Hundreds by Richard Blome. Published London circa 1735 by Thomas Bakewell in"England Exactly Described" A fine copper engraved county map of Rutland. The somewhat more scarce Bakewell edition was published in a larger book than the usual Taylor Blomes and hence has only a single fold as opposed to the three usually found. Some light patchy browning as seen and an edge split to the original centre fold has been reinforced verso. The lower margin is cropped as issued. Sheet size approx. 10" x 8" 260mm x 195mm) on hand laid paper. Richard Blome( 1635-1705) was an active and prominent map publisher in 1670's London. He drew much contemporary crticism for blatant plagiarism but this did not seem to impede his success. It does have a crease down the middle where some probably folded it up and put it in their pocket. And some wear(see pictures, sorry about my shadow in a few of the pictures) This would be a great collectors piece for a Vermont fan. Baseball fan or Mobil gas advertisment collector. This is a lovely 3-piece dresser set. Tray& 2 candlesticks, by Bagley in the Rutland pattern dat ing to 1939. The clear glass oval tray is 12.75"x8.25"x3/8" in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks, scratches or repairs. The pair of candlesticks are each 5 1/8" high with a base of 3.25" diameter, they are made to hold a standard taper& are also in excellent condition with no chips. Up for your consideration. We have this VINTAGE Jacob Bros. RAILWAY EXPRESS Scale for HOWE SCALE CO. Rutland, VT. Believed to have been manufactured in the 1930's. This scale was used for weighing railroad packages. It is model#385S and will measure up to 60 lbs by 4 oz. Glass on both sides of scale are in tact and the front face looks quite good for it's age. The back dial face does have some minor shadowing but it does not affect the readability of the numbers or markings. The scale appears to be in working order without any breaks. I am not able to read the red painted label on the top of scale base and as you can see. This scale has a very nice petina to it. It is approximately 20" long and 11" tall. Weighing 17 1/2 pounds with a sturdy cast iron base.
